Tynecastle perfect venue for stumbling Celtic

396

There can hardly be a better venue for Celtic to visit after a poor result than Tynecastle. The focus, which was so badly missing last weekend, is always evident there. As a consequence, we have a remarkably good record at what, on paper, should be one of the more difficult grounds to visit.

We should also see a tactical tightening. The empty acres behind the Celtic defence which Motherwell were able to exploit will surely be better defended tomorrow.

The postponement of the Hamilton game earlier this month, together with the loss last week, has given the league table a more competitive look. Last season this scenario was too much for Aberdeen, who stumbled at Dundee. It’ll be interesting to see how they deal with the Highlanders this afternoon.

Delighted to read this morning that the Celtic FC Foundation are helping Mary’s Meals in Kenya, as well as War Child, on the back of the stunning success of their Christmas appeal.

What a club!

    Gearoid,

Boyce’s fitness has improved immensely.Think I read Ross County had a dietician and fitness instructor working with him. He’s a better striker than Ciftci that’s for sure.

    Hope yer well pal.

  2. Had a right old long day, with storm clean up and all. So I will bid you all good night and hopefully speak again tomorrow. HH.

Gearoid, thank you. I hope you and family had as an enjoyable time as we did.

I saw one of Liam’s goals today on sky sevco news. It was up for their goal of the day vote.

Liam has definitely improved since his move to.Dingwall and playing beside our ex players there.

Hamiltontim, Madden is maddening. He’s another ref who revels in winding us up. How he never booked Big Mick for his lunge on Kris

or Mcdonald for persistent fouling, was no surprise.

Tomorrow, with Mclean in charge, Hearts will

get away with a lot of niggly stuff and a few ‘enthusiastic’ challenges. Neilsen when he was a player was always barging into our ayers after the ball was played and leaving his foot in.

  8. @Dearest Paul 67……Stumbling? A CQN AFTERBASH?…. A 5k run thru Jobo land?

A 5am stroll for Weefra thru golden fields?….

No stumbling tomorrow …3 zero.. The the sober guys.

We’ve all, or at least I have, said things on this blog that when I have re read them the next day I just wanted to crawl into a hole. Once or twice I’ve apologised as I really think on those occasions I really did step over the mark.

I’ve had words with Cowiebhoy, PFAye and one or 2 others in recent times but I honestly hope they all know that it’s not personal, sometimes it’s the drink, sometimes it’s just frustration at things not going the way we’d all like.

The thing for me though is I know that every last one of you have something in common with me, it’s Celtic. Yes this club and it’s fans have a multitude of opinions and recollections and ideas for the way ahead, but you all know, as I do, that every single one of us want the same thing in the end.

Steven Claridge on radio five said Victor is worth 30 million. If he goes for that figure, hopefully not to that arsenal mob, I.hope our sell on clause is at least 15 per cent.

  11. Dallas Dallas,

Neilson was one of the most persistently dirty players whenever we played Hearts. At Parkhead he reckoned that Patterson had used his head to keep James Forrest at bay. Patterson was booked after 10 minutes and spent the rest of the time kicking Forrest with impunity.

Parkheadcumdalford, Neilsen and Maybury should have been sent off when they played against us, particularly when Levein was boss at Tyne castle. They specialised in leaving a.foot in or blocking our players after passing the ball.

I hope Leigh is fit for tomorrow.

I know you like a flutter, try a few bob each way on futuramic in the paddy power chase at leopardstown tomorrow. It’s 40/ 1 carries a nice low weight and will like the soft going. Power’s are paying five places.

    Wits,

Actually I am not a horsey man at all but occasionally take advice from some on here and other sites just for a bit of interest.

I’ll take your advice on that wan.

”Watch the first 2 minutes here to see a goal our crowd would have been booing right up to final 5 seconds.”

Now you give out often to quite a few posters for being imaginative with their opinions on here, I personally get the impression that post your wee sabbatical of a few years ago, that to demean is often your sole reason for posting in response. As I said just an impression i get and i may very well be way of the mark.

However, give yourself a wee slap on the wrist for the sloppy sentence above. How would you possibly know what ‘our’ crowd would do? I suppose you could caveat it by defining under what circumstances that goal was scored… was it an urgent goal in an important game? Etc.

You set your own standards and then decry others, who may not have had the privilege and luxury of your education, for not living up to your self-set standards….

Then you don’t live up to your own self-set standards…..
