Tynecastle perfect venue for stumbling Celtic

396

There can hardly be a better venue for Celtic to visit after a poor result than Tynecastle. The focus, which was so badly missing last weekend, is always evident there. As a consequence, we have a remarkably good record at what, on paper, should be one of the more difficult grounds to visit.

We should also see a tactical tightening. The empty acres behind the Celtic defence which Motherwell were able to exploit will surely be better defended tomorrow.

The postponement of the Hamilton game earlier this month, together with the loss last week, has given the league table a more competitive look. Last season this scenario was too much for Aberdeen, who stumbled at Dundee. It’ll be interesting to see how they deal with the Highlanders this afternoon.

Delighted to read this morning that the Celtic FC Foundation are helping Mary’s Meals in Kenya, as well as War Child, on the back of the stunning success of their Christmas appeal.

What a club!

Hertz at Tynecastle: What better pick me up tonic for the players and fans after a poor perfromance.

No point in looking back; only forward to Five -in – a – Row.

I prefer to consider that every single time the team runs out, they are at the beginning of a new era. Introduce a few players, try a few new ideas and see how it goes.

Supporting Celtic has always been worthwhile for me. Sometimes they astonsih me with wonderful football and Play teams off the park. With style and panache. Other times they grind it out and feel the points were stolen rather than won. Always take it tho’.

Then the times when I feel the team is off balance or out of sorts and I feel myself getting bloody frustrated at them, maybe even single out one or two players for the odd ‘useless bassa’ curse but always under my breathe.

“Never boo or shout at players son, mainly because it has the opposite effect from what you are trying to achieve…”

Wise words from an oul’ bhoy who will never watch a game with me again.

Anyway, for some reason today I’m reminded of a Christmas game versus Dundee at Old Paradise in early 80’s. It was bitterly cold there was not much of a crowd and the team were just mince.

I remember that game mainly because I was with good friends and family. I even forgot the result ( we drew.. Badly)

Celtic moved on and won the league

Sometimes the team just don’t meet our expactations

We should always, always meet theirs!

    Enjoy the game today

Right – me and Wee BGFC are just polishing off breakfast, then its off up to Tynecastle early to see if we can locate a couple of tickets.

No luck in the draw (again) for Tynecastle, but the wee man is hopeful that we may benefit from some poor soul’s screaming hangover that keeps them in their bed!!!

Anyway – off to give it a bash with fingers and toes crossed.

Good luck to all you Tims, and stay safe up there among that mob – they can be very nasty.

The MSSM`s seemingly desperate desire for Aberdeen to go top of the League could still become a reality today……..if Celtic lose 18-0.

My hope would be we don’t start with Jamesy and KC, I feel we struggle with that combo. One of the stats guys might prove that to be wrong.

Looking forward to todays tussle though..

No. I am not in his good books after my `motivational` team talk before the Motherwell game last week.

    TR

As regards team selection, it really is about opinions . I trust Ronny` s more than my own 0:-)

I like Tierney but in the Motherwell game, I thought I saw signs that he needs to be nurtured a wee bit more so a rest would be good. I would hate to see an excellent prospect have his confidence drained after a game against a fairly physical Heart side.

    Cheerio for now,
