Tynecastle perfect venue for stumbling Celtic

396

There can hardly be a better venue for Celtic to visit after a poor result than Tynecastle. The focus, which was so badly missing last weekend, is always evident there. As a consequence, we have a remarkably good record at what, on paper, should be one of the more difficult grounds to visit.

We should also see a tactical tightening. The empty acres behind the Celtic defence which Motherwell were able to exploit will surely be better defended tomorrow.

The postponement of the Hamilton game earlier this month, together with the loss last week, has given the league table a more competitive look. Last season this scenario was too much for Aberdeen, who stumbled at Dundee. It’ll be interesting to see how they deal with the Highlanders this afternoon.

Delighted to read this morning that the Celtic FC Foundation are helping Mary’s Meals in Kenya, as well as War Child, on the back of the stunning success of their Christmas appeal.

What a club!

A day for a statement of intent performance please.

  3. Morning all.

Can’t see what I’m writing for betting adverts down either side.

Worried about today’s game. I have a feeling we are going to be kicked off the park. Just hope nobody is badly injured and the supporters get home safely.

Morning Bhoys I watched Southampton win 4-0 against Arsenal last night and big Wanyama gave an immaculate performance also VVD had a fine match and Shane Long was also good.It is a great pity we cant hold on to players like Wanyama andVVD.However,in todays football money talks I am looking forward to todays gameit should be a Christmas Cracker.H.H.

  5. Oh, it looks like being a lovely day down here. Mild and and a blue sky. I think this is the first time I have seen the sky in at least a week. Amazingly, there is no wind or rain at the moment. They have been incessant for what seems like months.

Surely a start for Scott Allan today? C’mon Celtic.Don’t be letting us down today. No defeat,no draw.Let’s bury this mob.

  7. You can bet your last Buck the boot will be in today, I’v watched the mini Hun this year, that back four the have are ruthless thugs, I may be wrong but I think they have the worst disciplinary record in the league

And the phallic symbol with the whistle won’t be doing us any favours either, so buckle up and be prepared for a bumpy ride, but I fancy a win, but then again that’s just me, positive in most things Celtic.

  8. My friends in Celtic,

Hope all is well in CQN land.

Reading back, I am sooooooo jealous of those who don’t suffer hangovers. I am still searching for this magical cure, to no avail so far. Hopefully The hoops can give us a helping hand, but win, lose or draw I have no doubt I will be searching again tomorrow.

COYBIG, and a mega big hail, hail to those who will make the effort to go to Tynecastle.

  9. The BBC sports monkey at teatime last night was going through the league tables after yesterday’s results. He said Aberdeen have drawn level at the top with Celtic, moves on to the Championship,Sevco and Hibs are level, but Sevco have a ‘massive goal difference….’ Yet no mention of our massive goal difference, desperate hurting Huns.

    Greenpinata,

I have a bro in law who doesn’t know what a hangover is.Has never had one in his life.Could sink everything on the gantry and although full wakes up wae a slight headache and a dry mouth.

A headache tablet and he’s ready for action again.

I dont know how he does it.Has never missed a day off work in his life.Has a stomach of iron.

    Nye,

Pinning my hopes on Griffiths too.

Had a feeling we would feck up at home last week but I feel good about this one today.

Our recent record at Tynecastle is good.Maybe that’s how I have the feel good factor.

Highly charged atmosphere.Bring it on man!

  14. I of course would rejoice in a win today, however I do not expect it.

God knows what the transfer window will bring, but we are in such a position that there is no set view on the make up of the squad.

Who would/could we bring in, and why – who will we let go, and why?

What is our settled tactical view and style of play?

Are we happy to stumble on and see what may happen over the next six months? This appears to be Ronny’s view and that things will be alright in the end – “judge me then”.

Have we not heard the same, periodically, over his tenure?

We must be brave and ruthless – we are in a cul de sac.

  15. Tricoloured Ribbon on

    Fred,

    Think that’s very fair comment.

We have been dross to watch.Have a feeling we will win today though.

Not because we are good, because the league is piss poor and we are the best of a bad bunch. That’s about it.

Tricoloured Ribbon…….my biggest fear is they

are due to do something against us.

  17. I fancy a 1-3 today and for it to be a tawdry affair with the MIB behaving as suspected. Our middies will have to be prepared to take a few dull ones and Johansen if playing will need to kick the habit of a needless yellow card (or red).

Trust in the manager to put out the right team.

Looking forward to it and a good solid victory for the Hoops.

    Hope Griff is fit

  20. Tricoloured Ribbon on

    Nye,

Aye,suppose that is very possible my friend.Still have a sneaky we will do it.Again,I think it is because this league is so piss poor.We are the best of a bad bunch.

  21. Also on the results programme last night they talked about “the big game of the weekend” which according to them is some lower league match tomorrow. We know the real big one is this afternoon.

If Leigh is fit and plays I’d back him to score first. Kris Commons is due one as well ,and I fancy bog Jozo to break his duck very soon. 3 – 0 will do nicely. Finishing the year three points clear with a game in hand will do for me.

We do nothing about their cheating …
