Uefa suspending the suspense for a week

75

Uefa partially closing a 70,000-seat stadium for racist behaviour to punish Lazio, who attracted 13,072 to their previous Europa League game, has to be the least punitive action in history.  No one will be excluded from attending next week’s Lazio-Celtic game and gate receipts will not be affected.

Instead, Uefa imposed a suspended stadium closure on Lazio, which will kick in if a similar offence occurs within 12 months.  There is a possibility of this suspension becoming an active ground closure, if the match observer records racist behaviour from Lazio fans at Celtic Park next week.

Lazio will not bring many fans to Glasgow next week, so you would think they could refrain for a night.  We’ll see.

  1. El Dufalo couldn’t lace LG’S boots, and only Daily Ranger Hotline readers bracket him with Eddy, the biggest team he’s scored against is Aberdeen.

  2. D17…there is no comparison to be made…one is class the other is crass. The refereeing or lack of it contributes to only one of the players stats here. Can you guess which? Answers on the head of a pin

  3. The Battered Bunnet @ 5.02 – I@ve been sitting here for 15 minutes now, double flashing my lights at each passing car. I’ll give you another 5 then I’m going in. Alone.

Whilst passing the time I decided to check something on you know who’s official website. 3 years and 5 months after the SCottish Cup final was played and they still can’t face up to the truth that they lost to Hibs – click on the link and scroll down to their final game of that season to see the score (not). Always makes me smile.

Upgrade on Griff at mo imo. He’s scored against Maribor, Legia and Young Boys to be fair. Edouard is better without a doubt. Don’t like the comparisons myself or see the need for it every time Edouard does something good. That’s all from me.

  6. Re Clancy Hearts v Sevco…why don’t the FTSFA announce the game officials at the same time they announce the fixtures pre-season…after all it should all be random using their computer

  7. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Jobo , thanks for posting the results from the ‘magic hat’s’ season at Ibrox. I had forgotten they only won 2 of their last 11 games that season. The sheen on the magic hat was not as bright.

The 2016 cup final was the same day as my dad’s 90th birthday party . Hibs gave him another reason to celebrate entering his tenth decade.

  8. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

APS to my last post , I didnt include the semi final as a win for them , it was a draw with them getting through on penalties.

  9. Morelos does seem to be picking up less cards and still scoring goals at least against the small teams.

It is pointless comparing players and assists the Huns who are a financial basket case, in claiming comparability with our £9m player.

Eddy is performing well for France and I hope he can continue for us, We need a few goals.

  10. Hello again all you young rebels.

Good morning from a changeable weather week in Melbourne, but need

to get my wee Celtic cap oot, the 30 degs are approaching next week. phew.

Spring training tonight again and looking forward to giving the kids their

    Celtic lessons lol.

We had about 14 new under 11’s last week, usual mixture of nationality’s

so usually let them have a wee bounce game to start just to see who can

    actually make a pass.

So 7 a side, right boys and girls! first question.

What teams do you all support?

Barca, Man Utd, Psg, Chelsea etc.

    mmmm…

O.K then, who knows the first British team to win the European cup?

Two hands up, one boy one wee girl, the Celtic

Right you two are the captains of A and B teams.

You’ve got to reward knowledge haven’t you? and even if they are not

Celtic minded they have potential and they already know how to

    please their coach 8-))

I remember there was a cameraman with a professional camera recording the mass in Lisbon. Who? No idea.

BRTH would be the bhoy to ask as he had his finger on the pulse that weekend.

Also very interested in finding out where I could obtain a copy.

    Anyone any ideas?

    HH

  12. I saw the camera crew there that morning.

Even if anyone had mobile fone footage

I am sure someone has posted a brief clip on here from communion during the Mass.

    downloaded it.

  14. Good morning CQN from a dark but dry Garngad

Well that was a short read back.

Very few Celtic posts even less non Celtic posts, is it a case of people not wanting to post at all for fear of getting shouted down by some posters.

Probably just international week though, thank goodness as Jobo would say 2 more sleeps to the return of the champions.

    Team for Saturday

Oh and good morning from a dry, clear skied (well the moon’s out) very dark East Kilbride.

  16. Ahhhhh the old DUP…

Hunbelievable terrorists (allegedly) ruling our country now..

    Hunbelievable

  17. Go on Boris offer the DUP another bribe, it’s only a matter of how many millions or billions of our dosh you can buy Wee or Big Arlene for..

They will need cash for arms and ipox if there is a deal.

    Hunbelievable

    D. :)

  18. Hunderbirds are Gone on

Greetings from Dubrovnik (new port) 20c already, bright and sunny ☀️. Just having a strong coffee on a kiosk bar, before boarding a ferry to the island of Koločep. Using the ferry to pass three of the islands just offshore from Dubrovnik – Cheaper than a tourist boat. It’s a half hour to Koločep going, we have four hours there, and then the ferry back takes an hour and a half as it goes to the islands of Lopud and Šipan en-route. Beer will be taken… purely as a coolant you understand.

Get a grip guys, real football is nearly back, after the slow hell of International week.

Back to work Celts, we’ve got a league to win

    🍀⚽️

  19. Extinction Rebellion are a total pain in the arse.

I really don’t think they are making themselves very popular.

Are they not better to inconvenience the people in power, than inconveniencing the man in the street.

    Makes sense tae me.

  21. Re the DUP rejecting Brexit proposal. I would be more concerned if they had backed it. Then I would know we had been sold out.

The Lunatics are well in control of the British Asylum, I hope the negotiators are being well paid, Can you imagine how the Europeans must be feeling, deal after deal being painstakingly negotiated & agreed with the British Government & then being rejected by Parliament.

Brexit will go down in History as the greatest self inflicted shit storm of all time.
