UNIQUE ANGLE: REVENGE SO SWEET FOR KYOGO

KYOGO FURUHASHI lasted just two minutes in the previous Glasgow derby this season after being clattered by John Lundstram.

It was a wayward challenge that went unpunished, but ensured the Japanese striker would make no worthwhile contribution to the match at Parkhead on September 3 last year.

Kyogo attempted to play on, but a shoulder injury ended his participation only moments later when he had to come off to be replaced by Giorgos Giakoumakis.

NUMBER ONE…Daizen Maeda is congratulated by delighted Celtic team-mates Reo Hatate and Kyogo Furuhashi.

NUMBER TWO…Kyogo Furuhashi races to retrieve the ball after his late leveller.

The previous season’s top scorer with 20 strikes watched the rest of the action from the sidelines as the champions romped to a 4-0 success with goals from Liel Abada (2), Filipe Jota and David Turnbull.

The tears turned to cheers for the fans’ favourite at Ibrox yesterday when he rifled in the equaliser in the 88th minute to give the visitors a 2-2 draw to maintain their nine-point advantage at the Premiership pinnacle.

Kyogo’s countryman Daizen Maeda had lashed the Hoops in front early on and both goals are worth another look thanks to the good folk at Celtic Unique Angle TV. Enjoy!
