HARTLEY TO RETURN DUFFY TO CELTIC

DUNDEE boss Paul Hartley is ready to cut short Celtic attacker Michael Duffy’s loan spell at Dens Park.

The wide midfielder arrived at the Tayside outfit in the summer in what was intended to be a season-long temporary transfer.

However, the Northern Ireland international has drifted out of the first team picture at Dens and the club are now expected to hold talks with the Hoops about returning the 22-year-old who spent last term at Alloa.

Duffy, signed by the Hoops from Derry City in February 2015, has made just 12 appearances for Hartley’s team, five of them as a substitute.

He was on the bench again during the 3-0 win over St Johnstone at the weekend and last started a game against Caley Thistle in Inverness in September.

His one goal came in the Betfred Cup win over Forfar.
