TOM ROGIC and his Australian team-mates will face Emilio Izaguirre’s Honduras in the two-legged play-off as they target a place in the World Cup Finals in Russia next summer.
The Celtic midfielder helped the Socceroos to a 2-1 extra-time triumph over Syria in Sydney yesterday to advance on a 3-2 aggregate.
Rogic played for 96 minutes against the Syrians who shocked the hosts by taking the lead in the eighth minute.
Former Everton veteran Tim Cahill equalised shortly afterwards and it was the fans’ favourite who struck near the end of the extra period with another superb header.
Izaguirre was missing as the Hondurans came back from two goals down to beat Mexico 3-2 in dramatic fashion in San Pedro Sula.
