Did we get a fright at Inverness last week? That’s probably overplaying it a bit, but we didn’t get our own way against a team who have already overachieved this season and are more than capable of raising their game for the big occasion.
This is a team who will have no fears of facing Celtic. They have a manager who will arrive at Hampden tomorrow with a plan to win the game.
John Hughes will not be the only one with such a plan. Ronny Deila knows this game is the most important on the roster between now and the end of the season. Only a potential Scottish Cup Final would be a bigger game. Without wanting to be disrespectful of Aberdeen’s title push, which is an arithmetical challenge only, we are two wins away from winning the treble, and Inverness are the only top flight team who are able to stop us.
It we do achieve a treble this season it will be our first in 14 years. Martin O’Neill’s triumph in 2001 was our only one in 46 years, so we have to wait a long time for these occasions. Unfortunately, it takes only 90 minutes to extinguish the opportunity. A few refereeing decisions the right way and Dundee United had us in a vulnerable place in the last round. Without absolute concentration the same could happen tomorrow and the remainder of our season would take on an exhibition-game feel.
Feeling a bit nervous now.
Keep your eye on Kris Commons, he loves Hampden.

Just fore I go, getting near 70 and don’t feel any older. Until I have to carry food bank donations from the bus park!!! :-)) Jobo will confirm. So out of breath, felt like starting the fags again. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO won’t be happening. 6 months now after 60 years of smoking. Dead chuffed. Would not say I was clean, but, hopefully on my way.

Such a boring game at Chelsea, both teams know that Chelsea will win it 1 nil so Man U get over 70% possession in each half

Is that 140%?

When I were a young fella many, many moons ago, I never heard my Da saying a bad word against hardly anyone, apart for two who have been a topic on here tonight, Jack Glass and Paisley, smart cookie was my Da, IMO.
And he wasn’t a Catholic.

200% in total yep, or 70% each half :O)
This is from the Scotsman, comments section.
It’s about MharinBlavk – an SNP candidate in the forthcoming GE. she is standing against Douglas Alexander.
Anyone know if these comments are for real (The anti Celtic ones)
” Black, 20, who hopes to unseat Douglas Alexander said, “I’ve only just realised – I really f***** hate Celtic” and “Celtic, yer a joke!#scum”
The putative MP for binge drinking said, “Smirnoff Ice is the drink of the gods – I cannae handle this c*** man.”
And how she finances her binge drinking, “Woke up beside half a can of Tennents and a full pizza and more money than I came out with. I call that a success!”
sorry, her name is Mhari Black. Bloody iPad.

DBBIA,
I never met either of the two men under discussion, but if I had, then I, too may have been charmed and impressed by their respective personalities.
However, by our deeds are we known and those two festered a lot of sectarian hatred within their communities, which resulted in a lot of people being hurt.
That they did this not out of conviction, but out of personal advancement within those communities, somewhat dilutes what little bit of Christian charity that I possess.

Big guy. Long arms. So ended up in High & Mighty suit shop to get one to fit.
Assistant started boasting they’d had Ian Paisley in the week before. My Faither told him one more word about that man and he’d lose the sale!

I never tire seeing the goal, the joy of the ball boys and then the sheer ecstasy in the crowd.
Goal of the last decade.
Glad it’s Falkirk in the final – not assuming anything – if and when we get there.
Just love thrashing them wee sticky buns.
I’m amused at the reincarnation of oul’ shredded wheat heid McPherson, as a friend of Celts.
A far better commentator and journalist than anything doing the rounds these days
Decent enough guy. He was never as bad as Alex Cameron, but a friend of Celts…
No chance.
Would happily have a few jars with him, no probs. suppose he must have an unplumbed depth of good chat about Fitba in Scotia

Just goes to show how over-rated possession is, eh? :-)

That they progressed themselves via a professed Christianity should not deter you from Christianity itself.
Nor of course should it be relevant, since your beliefs are your own.
I reckon your beliefs have caused no harm to others-the men of the cloth,Glass and Paisley, may not be so sure of their ground on that one.

Thought of Brother Walfrid’s Anniversary and the generous donations at Celtic Park when I read this story in the Irish Times earlier.
Posted it earlier during the football, think you might find it of interest.

I never once believed that Pastor Jack was inherently evil,as I have said. His preaching of intolerance towards Catholicism had certain outcomes which were inevitable, zig not planned.
The religious divide was his raisin d’être. His pay packet.
As for heroes with feet of clay,we all have them. And in the areas which matter most to us. Whether it be football, music, literature. Even family.
We can love yet criticise. In all the aspects I mentioned above.
I doubt Pastor Jack once read a sermon of love. No harm to his memory by that comment.
//—-///—-///
Hope you are well mate
Next time I we you remind me to share a wee story about the pastor as described by an ex – view journalist
Would confirm your own View perfectly.

The thing i loved about that goal was that Henrik knew he was on a completely different level from them and instead of doing the safe/percentage game thing he went for them and let them know what he could do to them.
Just how demoralising would that be to have someone that knew they could do that to you, doing it to you, when you knew they could do it but still couldn’t stop him?
It was a Mental goal :)

Yep, though I’d rather follow a team that craved possession of ball than didnt. The game is supposed to be about entertainment and teams like Chelsea are destroying that.

Aye, if it wisny for my Da I wouldn’t be half the man I am today, taught me well, was never a footy man, told me that supporting Celtic would give me grief over the years, didn’t have a clue what he meant at the time, but he did :)

That made it 4-1.
I’d have settled for that. I watched it in the Orange Club in Kilwinning, and I reckoned anymore goals I would have to be on my toes.
As it turns out,I was right. On my toes celebrating.
Surprisingly tolerant lot that day…
