Aberdeen look to cap top team in 25 years

1164

Really looking forward to tomorrow.  Aberdeen are no flash-in-the-pan, they are as strong a non-Glasgow team as there has been in 25 years, having built on foundations laid last season.  They arrive at Celtic Park having won there last season, and after two narrow defeats to Celtic this season, which has cost them a place at the top of the league.

Ronny Deila will have an enormous job to pick his players up after the disappointment of Thursday night, but that’s what champions do.

I know we’ve got a few foodies here, so check out The Foodies Guide to Glasgow and the West, by Fraser Wilson.  Proceeds from the book go to Mary’s Meals, which goes a long way towards alleviating poverty.

If you are from or near Dundee…….

There’s a charity dinner to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Brother Walfrid, in the East Chamber, Dundee, on Friday 17 April.   Proceeds from the night will go towards helping three-year-old Oliver Bosch, who was born without auditory nerves.

The evening will have an Irish theme, with an Irish menu, music and song and the Lochee School of Irish Dancing will give a display of traditional Irish dancing.  For tickets contact joe.carroll1948@yahoo.co.uk

yeah is it a directive they are given?

or can they (the players) not speak their own minds?

Stokes says the opposite in private

    NEW YORK CELTIC BARS

So bhoys, off to NY with the missus on 12 March which means league cup final day and St Paddys.

Recommendations are The Parlour and Jack Dempseys.

Any insight on one or t’other?

    ——————————————

Both are excellent to watch the games.

JD’s is more convenient if you are staying in midtown.

It’s just along from the Empire State Building. The Parlour is uptown at 86th Street.

If you like a GB type atmosphere then JD’s is the place.

If you prefer a more laid back atmosphere then the Parlour your spot.

Another way to look at it is, the Parlour is CQN to JD’s Huddleboard.

Now that it a very good question, that I don’t have an answer for.

Obviously those whom are on the payroll of the SMSM, are dancing to their employer’s tune.

But ye cannot legislate for the likes of Stokesy, O’Neill or even Lenny himself.

    Puzzling it is.

Probably they once loved the encounters against the old club, we all did.

However, time moves on, our old rivals killed themselves, they are dead. It’s not our fault – that’s just the way it is.

I’m far more nervous now about the sheep fixture later on – no feeling over that charade at Hampden last month.

Such is life, as a great Oglach once said.

  8. Big game for the hoops today

One of the best mates had to fly back to ireland from oz last week.

His young cousin died in car crash..only 13yrs old.

She and her family are celtic fans so celtic are putting something on the screen before the game and at half time. Fair play to the club. Very tough times for the family.

I’m just going to try to sit up now chief, incase I sleep in and miss the Celtic game.

My wee cousin will more than likely be behind the bar in the O’s anyway.

Tell him I said to set ye up a pint, and I’ll square it up.

As for the lay – Celtic are best price 7/4 minus a goal online.

You give me 2/1 and I’ll have a deuce on it.

If the bet is beat, the £ will be wired to ye asap.

Ye know that I’m good for it, and here I can get the 2/1 anyway up the road.

  12. LAMB

I think we should stop calling them huns and call them lambs instead.

After all, they are as tender as wee lambs, bless them.

Their poor wee sensitivities are as easily startled as lambs.

They have been feasting on lamb from the SDM table for many years.

Just like wee lambs they are wandering around without the foggiest idea of where they are heading.

Like wee lambs, they are prone to follow follow the loudest voice around.

Like wee lambs, they get slaughtered from time to time.

But most of all, they are like we lambs:

    L – Legally

    A – And

    M – Morally

    B – Bankrupt

I hope our support turns up today,it’s a dreadful ko time

but pointless moaning, fitba has sold it’s soul for tv money.

I have nae time for the sheepie support, their song book is

nasty, what are the chances that the msm who are quick to

point the finger at Celtic fans will take their ear muffs off and

    condemn them.

  15. why is a mid day KO such a bad thing for aberdeen, the media don’t seem to get upset or make anything of us having to go everywhere including Dingwall and Inverness on a sat/sun for 12/ 12-15/12-30 KO times, we do it all the time but it’s just seen as the norm for us.

  16. Alfie Noakes on

In games against Hamilton, Dundee, Inverness, I noticed that the Dons are always vulnerable right through the middle of their defence.

Now I posted my favoured team selection a while ago, however I think Ronny may change and opt for Kris Commons operating just behind the striker from the start – so how do we accommodate him.

    Gordon

    Mathews – VVD – Denayer – Izzy

    GMS – Brown – Biton – Johansen

    (Forrest)

    Commons

    (Armstrong)

    Guidetti

    (Stokes)

Subs in parenthesis – assuming no injuries.

Chose GMS over Armstrong as he only played 36 minutes on Thursday.

If Auldheid reckons something is up with EUFA and the MSM then something is up. The amount of times Celtic have been pulled up is obviously being stoked from somewhere. I also agree with other posters that if reporters from wherever are persueing an agenda then pull them up for it. BBC Scotland are a disgrace and should have their access denied. After all, how long is it since the Norwegian Blues barred them from Snake Mountain? It didn’t do the any harm. If anything, they were rewarded for it. Celtic must use the weapons they have. They are not going to get any modicum of fairness otherwise.
