Aberdeen look to cap top team in 25 years

1164

Really looking forward to tomorrow.  Aberdeen are no flash-in-the-pan, they are as strong a non-Glasgow team as there has been in 25 years, having built on foundations laid last season.  They arrive at Celtic Park having won there last season, and after two narrow defeats to Celtic this season, which has cost them a place at the top of the league.

Ronny Deila will have an enormous job to pick his players up after the disappointment of Thursday night, but that’s what champions do.

I know we’ve got a few foodies here, so check out The Foodies Guide to Glasgow and the West, by Fraser Wilson.  Proceeds from the book go to Mary’s Meals, which goes a long way towards alleviating poverty.

If you are from or near Dundee…….

There’s a charity dinner to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Brother Walfrid, in the East Chamber, Dundee, on Friday 17 April.   Proceeds from the night will go towards helping three-year-old Oliver Bosch, who was born without auditory nerves.

The evening will have an Irish theme, with an Irish menu, music and song and the Lochee School of Irish Dancing will give a display of traditional Irish dancing.  For tickets contact joe.carroll1948@yahoo.co.uk

Or did lay out a right few quid on a 1-0 to inter ( for that return you would’ve had to) and then pray to the gods of chance that Celtic lost by said score?

    Just askin sister.

    Grow up! FFS!

How old are you now? 95?

I am sure the Aberdeen squad would have been hoping for extra-time on Thursday in the San Siro – it would have taken it’s toll.

If we had to lose then better in 90 and not 120.

Not because of his strike against Sevco – but we should monitor Rory Loy when he goes to Dundee next season.

He looks a modern and mobile striker – very assured and has a good touch.

Wonder why there is not a good central defender in any Scottish team that might interest us.

If we beat Aberdeen today and St Johnstone on Wednesday, then the fight just might go out of the Dons – if so, we could win the league just before the split.

If we did, I am sure Ronny would try out as many of the youngsters as possible – we know about McGregor and Henderson – let’s find out about McMullan, Lindsay, Duffy, Fisher, O’Connell, in the remaining five games – these games will be meaningful for our opponents and therefore hard-fought.

Then we get whatever deals and releases that are to be done, done early, during palyers’ holidays, ensuring the best possible build-up for CL qualification.

This time will be as much of a test of Ronny’s mettle as game time – I KNOW he will come through with ‘flying colours’
