Aberdeen stand up for the fans against Doncaster and Regan

755

Blogging on the move right now but want to pass comment on one part of the statement by Aberdeen chairman, Stewart Milne.  As he confirmed his club would place the fifth and decisive vote against Sevco being allowed access to the SPL next season he said:

“Reorganisation of the game is a priority and is something we have been actively involved in for a long time, but it is not something that should be rushed through just to deal specifically with one club.

“As we have indicated there are a number of other areas that we feel need to be addressed openly in the coming period if Scottish football fans are to feel that their views have been properly taken into account.”

Those well-paid executives who work for us and on Friday met to discuss a way to reorganise the league structure in the next couple of weeks should pay heed.  As Mr Milne suggests, we are the game, not you.

  1. A chant for if we ever play “them” again (NB/ i am not sure who “they” might be but i am presuming it will be obvious at the time):

    “Your not Rangers anymore!”

Or, if Charles Green’s efforts are in vain:

    “Your not Sevco anymore!”

    Malarkey,

Celtic have played a blinder. At this stage the newco has been voted a non starter in the SPL, and we have received no negative publicity.

    From the BBC:

Inverness, Hibernian, Hearts and Dundee United have all said they will vote against newco Rangers’ application.

    […]

Inverness chairman Kenny Cameron said the club would be in an “untenable position” if they ignored the wishes of their supporters.

So much for the “fabric of the nation”. Most parts of the Scottish nation don’t want them. (thumbsup)

When you think about it, Rangers did quite well in making it to 140 years.

Will the Sevco ‘Gers make it all the way to 140 days?

Well done to the dandy dons fans ,I am sure SM would have been pulling his hair out with that dilemma .

Now that TFPLG has came out in the Sunday chip wrappers ,slaughtering the free agents of RFCIL ,where does that leave him if the SFL supporters achieve a no entry to Div 1 .

Will Sally hang around ,then again he may fancy a chance to win a league title .

Alex Thompson new blog is interesting – particularly if you believe him that it isnt just a bunch of timposters sending e-mails.

Seems sad that any real Rangers (deceased) fans who might have chosen to be contrite have lost their voice – presumably subsumed by a combination of fear of the nut-case element and the fact that those “in authority” don’t want to hear.

Makes it even more damnable that McCoist panders to the lunatics doesn’t it – like hes got his own wee private army.

Fan power could and should be here to stay. I would like to see the supporters trusts get together and exert pressure to get rid of Regan, Ogilvie and Doncaster. Barcabhoys suggestion with regards the Scottish national side is an excellent pressure point with regard to Regan and Ogilvie – and I would assume that a continued dialogue between the supporters trusts and their chairmen will make it clear that the SPL fans dont trust Donkey.

On matters Celtic if Victor and Ki want to leave we should sell them to the highest bidder both players show a lot of promise for the future but if they dont want to be at Paradise lets get as much for them as we can and use the money to strengthen the team.Fraser Forster is also coming to the end of my patience if he has a better offer than Celtics get on and sign it big man and let us sign a keeper who wants to play for us.H.H.

  14. Doncaster should be sacked for aiding and abetting a corrupt football clubs attempt to re enter the SPL. Ralph Topping CEO of William Hill and Chairman of the SPL is dyed in the wool bluenose. Topping ( who resigned his SFA post ) has the same vested interests as Ogilvie in bringing back cheats FC. Doncaster feels with the support of Topping and the tacit approval of Ogilvie has managed to get Regan on board with his dastardly scheme.

Aberdeens statement and recognition of 4july as a no go for newco will see further desperate attempts. Stuart Milne quite rightly highlights there are many things wrong in Scottish football. Suddenly to go for a revolution just to save cheats FC is remarkably blatant and stupid by Topping and Doncaster.

I am surprised that the Chairman of the SPL is the CEO of a betting organisation. It strikes me as odd bedfellows , however in the corrupt world of the SFA/SPL/Cheats FC why am I not surprised.

  15. If we happen to meet Newco FC in the Scottish Cup next season (assuming they’re not banned or anything) I think the resident Celtic Park DJ should play the following little ditties:

Who Are You – The Who

Back to Life – Soul 2 Soul

I also liked the “No More Rangers Anymore” to the tune of 1980s electronica hit “No more heroes”.

Please Celtic make a sneering, statement condemning the years of tax evasion and cheating and calling on the football authorities to rectify the numerous wrongs that have been committed against our clubs. They could start by giving us back the stolen titles from 2003, 2005, 2009, 2010 and 2011.

    Dons statement

“Traditionally we have preferred not to make public our voting intentions, but in light of the level of interest and the fact other clubs have chosen to show their hand, on this occasion I can confirm it is our intention to oppose readmission to the SPL for any Rangers NewCo.

“If readmission were to be refused, webelievethe appropriate course of action would be for Rangers NewCo to apply for membership to the SFA and to submit an application for admission to the SFL and for their supporters to be sterilised.

“Reorganisation of the game is a priority and is something we have been actively involved in for a long time, but it is not something that should be rushed through just to deal specifically with one club.

  23. It seems the fans have been listened to, no Sevco, Newco, cheats in the SPL.

    Good.

Next question, will they be motivated to get organised to play in Div3?

Will Green want to hang around to loose money?

Everyday we get the answers to some question, then more questions arise.

The form and fitness of Kayal has still to be established, following his career threatening injury….

  28. St Johnstone Statement

The ongoing uncertainty surrounding Rangers has been an unwelcome distraction which has had an adverse effect on both participating SPL Clubs and Scottish Football in general.

The present economic climate has made it extremely difficult for anyone involved in football and any reduction in income will have a serious impact on this Football Club.

Notwithstanding the potentially damaging financial implications, the Board believes that sporting integrity should not be sacrificed in favour of economic expediency.

Over the last few weeks there has been a mounting groundswell of opinion amongst our fans which has clearly shown that the vast majority of our supporters would not favour an application by newco Rangers to the SPL. This has simply reaffirmed the Board’s position.

It is important that a clear and unambiguous message goes out from the custodians of Scottish Football that this sort of scenario should never be allowed to happen again.

As a result, St Johnstone Football Club will not support an application by newco Rangers to join the SPL.

We would urge all St Johnstone fans to get behind the Club and offer their support in the challenging season which lies ahead.
