Aberdeen stand up for the fans against Doncaster and Regan

755

Blogging on the move right now but want to pass comment on one part of the statement by Aberdeen chairman, Stewart Milne.  As he confirmed his club would place the fifth and decisive vote against Sevco being allowed access to the SPL next season he said:

“Reorganisation of the game is a priority and is something we have been actively involved in for a long time, but it is not something that should be rushed through just to deal specifically with one club.

“As we have indicated there are a number of other areas that we feel need to be addressed openly in the coming period if Scottish football fans are to feel that their views have been properly taken into account.”

Those well-paid executives who work for us and on Friday met to discuss a way to reorganise the league structure in the next couple of weeks should pay heed.  As Mr Milne suggests, we are the game, not you.

The singing detective. If we get decent money for them and Lennie is allowed to spend it we can buy Quality imo there is no point in keeping players who dont want to be there.I would imagine that we could get around 5 million for each and would give Lennie 10 Million to invest.H.H.

    History Beckons You No.12

    Written by D’Artagnan

    Monday, 25 June 2012 08:03

She had been battered, raped and pillaged for several months. Every fresh blow seemed to bring her closer to that final crushing blow. Like a wounded animal she tried to stand on her feet, to regain her dignity and honour, but the attacks were relentless and to the shame of all, none would come to her aid.

And finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the end was near. The Haters, Vultures and Ghouls made their way towards Ibrox for the telling knockout blow. In the interests of “sporting integrity” a boxing referee was enlisted to deliver the final count.

At the doors of Ibrox they were met by two sentinels who barred their way. Alistair McCoist and Lee McCulloch. It was pointless asking them to move. Neither would walk away.

“Start the count” demanded one of the haters. And so it began.

But not as as they had expected.

    10….9….8

“Wait, wait your counting wrong” screamed the haters.

    7…6….5

The two sentinels were no longer alone. For on either side of them filing quietly into line were unknown faces wearing Rangers shirts with No. 12 on the back. They didn’t need names on the back, it was the badge on the front which was important to them. There were young and old, sprightly and infirm, the capable carried the less capable lest they stumbled.

As the count continued the numbers, grew, and grew, and grew, until thousands joined the two sentinels barring the way to Ibrox.

The silence was broken momentarily when a whisper filled the air, some say to this day it came from within the walls of Ibrox itself……. “We’ve got the battle fever on”

“Who are these people?” asked one of the haters.

Ally McCoist stepped forward……. “Allow me to introduce you to my No. 12’s……they don’t do walking away either”

    And so it began.

In years to come Rangers historians will recite stories of Baxter, Woodburn, Cooper, Laudrup, McCoist, Gough and of course of No. 12.

In the coming months news outlets will feature stories about the No. 12’s – the fans who would not let their club die.

Their loyalty, faith and passion in a football club will capture the imagination of nations.

They will become the benchmark which other supporters aspire to.

Whatever is thrown at them or their club No.12’s will come back for more, time and time again until eventually our detractors can thrown no more.

Wherever their club goes the No. 12’s will be there. And every other Saturday Ibrox will be filled with No. 12’s.

Our children’s children will proudly tell their friends at school that their grandfather was a No. 12.

No. 12’s will be the topic of conversation every Monday morning, in factories, offices, wherever people assemble.

Newspaper columns will mention the No.12’s in the same breath as resilience and a never say die spirit.

Who am I and how do I know all this ?

I’m a No. 12 and I’m about to take my place in history.

  4. Rapid Vienna report Rangers to Fifa over Nikica Jelavic debt

Charles Green’s problems show no sign of abating after it emerged that Rangers could be called in front of the Fifa Dispute Resolution Chamber in Zurich after being reported to the game’s ultimate ruling body by Rapid Vienna.

The Austrian club is still owed £1,011,763.44 from the £4 million sale of Croatia striker Nikica Jelavic in the summer of 2010 and have requested the assistance of Uefa and Fifa.

Rapid have been informed that they would receive only a pittance when Rangers were plunged into liquidation following the rejection of prospective owner Green’s CVA proposal by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs 12 days ago.

However, the fact that Green’s new Rangers will receive the full outstanding amount due to them from Everton following the £5.5 million sale of Jelavic in January has angered Rapid.

“It seems unfair to us that we might not receive the money we are owed for the player when Rangers expect Everton to pay the fee they agreed for him,” said Peter Klinglmuller, the club’s head of communication.

“I don’t know how the law works in Scotland but we are used to paying our transfer fees in full.”

Their argument is that, since newco Rangers will receive the balance of the transfer fee for Jelavic (a player sold by the oldco), Green’s Rangers is effectively the same club and, consequently, responsible for its football debts.

Fifa’s media department confirmed that an investigation into the matter is already under way. “We have indeed been contacted by SK Rapid Vienna on this matter,” said a spokesman. “As the process is currently ongoing, we cannot comment further at this stage (until the process has been concluded).”

Meanwhile, Uefa’s press office confirmed: “Fifa’s Dispute Resolution Chamber is the competent body to adjudicate on transfer-related disputes between clubs that have an international dimension.”

Victory for Rapid Vienna would be catastrophic for Green, who could then be pursued by the other clubs outside Scotland who are owed money by Rangers – France’s St Etienne (£252,212.39), Chelsea (£238,345.43), Italy’s US Citta di Palermo (£205,513.04), Sweden’s Orebro SK (£150,000) and Arsenal (£136,560).

Decisions that are not respected by the DRC may be enforced by Fifa initiating disciplinary proceedings.

Well done Aberdeen, and St. Johnstone! Good statement from Stuart Milne. I think Aberdeen have planning permission for their new stadium, though I believe they have postponed construction on it for a year, which is a pity. Fact is they are looking to the future, and that future is not dependent on the horrible turning up any time soon. Time for Doncaster to go, his cheerleading for NewCo has become tiresome in the extreme.

  12. “Ra Rangers are the biggest club in Scotland.”

Do even the most deluded straitjacketed huns inhabiting their pink rubber rooms even believe that is true?

  13. The inaccuracies in the reporting are beyond belief. STV talk of a time that Green, “took over the club” as if there is some continuim to their existence and he didn’t merely buy the assets after their death.

  14. Now that more and more of the pro-hun/newco corruption in our game is being exposed on a daily basis I wonder if we’ll ever find who or what gave the go ahead for ‘operation save the hun’.

Who told the officials that the hun must win the league so make sure the ‘honest mistakes’, no matter how blatant, determined the league winners.

There is no chance that all these ‘honest mistakes’ happened just by accident.

So at what point was the decision taken to influence the game to suit ‘operation save the hun’ and by whom.

Was being awarded the cup final the only carrot for making the most game changing ‘honest mistakes’ or was there anything more up for grabs.

Was the person in charge of the ‘honest mistake’ crew to busy sending disgusting bigotted mail to care or quite happy to see the operation was all going to plan.

Did ‘operation save the hun’ start with one man or was there more people involved?

I think there’s still a few skeleton’s buried in the old Scottish football cupboard and a few people involved in Scottish football past and present having sleepness nights, not just since February 14th.

  15. Oh,please let us keep Big Vic W. Obviously he’s gonnae be worth a bundle; the big fella’s got a great future and an even greater temperament for one so young. I admire him immensely and I hope he hones his craft further with us,before one of the European giants whisks him away.

  19. Green is asked on SSN ‘which league will you be playing in?’

He bluffs it and bats it away with ‘we will work on that’, while of course what he didn’t say ‘we will apply to the SFA and hope for the best’ which would at least be an indication of humility. Green wouldn’t know what that is if an adviser described it.
