Abuser hypocrisy, United and Atletico

939

I don’t know what was said to Neil Lennon after the victory over Dunfermline last week but if it caused him to react I can imagine the tone.  The few visits I made to the South Stand during Gordon Strachan’s tenure left an indelible image of life as a Celtic manager.

Whatever Kirk Broadfoot did or did not say to Rangers fans towards the end of their defeat at Kilmarnock yesterday, does anyone seriously think it contained more invective than has been hurled at the player for most of his career?

The self-righteous indignation some football fans exhibit when an employee earning [insert a completely irrelevant figure here]exhibits intolerance to what would get you barred for life from any other workplace in the country is the epitome of hypocrisy.

Garry Kenneth, who is likely to face Celtic at Tannadice on Sunday, today told the world he will not be renewing his contract when it expires at the end of the season, saying, “Dundee United are a feeder club, it has always been like that.” Ouch.  Whatever Kenneth thinks of United he should at least respect their fans emotional investment in the club to be a whole lot more careful with his words.  Should make for a tense afternoon in the United defence, especially if we can put the big guy under some pressure.

Big game on Wednesday.  A win would fire enormous impetus into our season.  Whatever the outcome, the game will provide Neil Lennon with a guide on how to play in the hugely important month ahead.

would anyone be surprised to know that after 16 games and 35pts we are just one point worse off than the same stage last year?

them are currently 2 pts worse off than last year.

mentioned before to all the doom merchants and reactionaries that panicking is the worst thing you can do when things aren’t going so well.

well done to neil and the bhoys for a lot of determination and no little skill in beginning the fightback.

fully expect the good form the continue but there will no doubt be some minor wobbles along the way. it’s how you deal with them that counts!

heard someone on the radio tonight saying there will be plenty of twists and turns until the end of the season.

in my opinion the twists and turns have all now taken place. we will carry on in the right direction and win this league. they will continue to falter and end up the shambles they deserve to be

Josimar – thanks for pointing that out. We went through that period of dire home draws and lost ground on THEM, with things turning around at the Sami Show on the 2nd of January.

After all the talk of possibly being 15 points behind and the LL calling for Lenny’s head, it would be sweet to go into the next Glasgow derby ahead of or level with THEM.

We are taking back our song, that song they hi-jacked from us almost four years ago…The West Belfast sang it once again, outside the GPO in O’Connell Street at 4 a.m. on Sunday morning in the pishin’ rain…And that was before the Killie result too.

i fear that he played us like a fiddle during the last window and will walk away on a Bosman in the summer ………….if so …appalling asset management …not for the first time

  15. Talking to a hun in work today I posed the question that it looked like squeeky bum time for his mob.

“I don’t care about the league, I’m worried about the club – I just want there to be a Rangers in the future”.

It was the first time this cocky git had found some perspective.

“Ach, you will be fine” I sauntered off, trying woefully and to make him feel better but with a wee spring in my step and a thought to myself “GIRFUY”.

half time at killie, i did expect that we would need the admin 10pts to give us a helping hand to the title.

fate may deal us the 10pts next season but with a fire sale in jan and the FPLG’s innability to manage in adversity i now think they are surplus to requirements.

surely with their penchant for resurrecting old school tunes, the GB could do something with this one?

Canamalar – after that first half at Kilmarnock, fans were entitled to ask questions of the coaching abilities of Lenny and his backroom team. There are still questions, but the recovery from all involved since the Rennes game has been great to watch. Even better that it’s happening at the same time as the Huns are dropping points to some of the “weaker” clubs.

No one has the right to question Neil Lennon’s commitment to our club for obvious reasons, but every genuine supporter is entitled to ask whether he’s the right man to manage the club….at any time. Win, lose or draw.

And if anyone doesn’t agree, then they can GTF! :-)

Just watched the rang*rs highlights (I know.. I might have nightmares after seeing such an ugly bunch) and I found it funny to watch the pathetic attempts at a feigning a foul in the box, when are the yellow cards going to get dished out for these attempts to cheat? Was not so long ago our Aiden got carded for getting tripped!”

Aiden McGeady was SENT OFF for supposedly diving at the half way line against Hibs a couple of seasons ago.

    The referee, Dougie McDonald.

    Just saying like,

  22. Re Scott Brown.

SB has cost us 8.2 million with transfer fee and 18k a week wages, might be less, might be more, whatever it is, he sure hasn’t been worth 40k approx a week imo, others may disagree.

Asset management for the beginer……PL has made a major baws up of the whole affair.

  23. Just watching this Charlton Huddersfield game. THIRD division in England.Bettter product than the SPL If it wasn’t for Celtic ( not Rangers ) this SPL would be akin to the Conference league and that is a fact. Discuss
