ANGE ON JOTA: ‘HE WANTS TO BE THE BEST HE CAN BE’

FILIPE JOTA played a major role in Celtic’s 3-1 win over Ross County with three assists in a no-holds-barred confrontation in Dingwall.

The flamboyant Portuguese ace set up Kyogo Furuhashi, Moritz Jenz and Liel Abada for the crucial strikes for three more points from a difficult venue in tricky conditions.

Jota also made certain of victory the previous week when he fired in a spectacular second goal in the 2-0 opening-day triumph over Aberdeen at Parkhead.

A BIG HAND…Filipe Jota applauds the travelling Celtic fans in Dingwall.

Ange Postecoglou, who signed the Benfica ace on a four-year contract in the summer after his impressive season-long loan, reckons the fans’ favourite has taken his game to another level.

The Hoops boss insisted: “Jota is earning the assists in the right way, he’s working hard.

“He has joined this club permanently and he wants to be the best he can be and show people there’s another level to him.

“On a difficult day on a tight pitch with the wind, with those kind of players it takes the real special ones to be able to still find and create space for themselves.”

Postecoglou, speaking to the Scottish Sun on Sunday, added: “He was put under a lot of pressure any time he had the ball at his feet.

“He’d take people on and they committed quite a few fouls on him and others because of that.

“It was another strong performance from him.”
