Atletico, Malaga, “breathtaking hypocrisy”

I was pleased Hearts won last night as all season I’ve been telling people we will win the league by double figures. Dropping the ball on Wednesday night put that in jeopardy but the gap is back to 12 points ahead of the visit of Motherwell on Sunday.

Ronny is likely to deploy more first choice players for his final game as Celtic manager against a Motherwell team who staged a remarkable recovery after a dreadful 2015, which would have seem them relegated if it weren’t for the huge gap between Premiership and Championship.

It looked like farewell from Emilio on Wednesday but you have to expect a few more will possibly make their final competitive appearances in the hoops this weekend.

I see a “Five-in-a-row but Peter Lawwell just cannot win” article in The Scotsman. Aye, fair enough, but the article ploughs into the Resolution 12 guys, and accuses other Celtic fans of “breathtaking hypocrisy”.

It appears to imply Financial Fair Play rules are not applied elsewhere in Europe (citing Atletico Madrid), so there should be no issues with the rules not applying to Rangers in 2011. I don’t follow Spanish club licencing too closely, but you will remember Malaga being banned by Uefa for having “overdue payables” to the Spanish tax authorities.

The rules ARE applied, clubs are banned from European competition for overdue payables.

I’ve been in touch with both the Res 12 guys and Celtic on this matter this morning (they continue to work together on a daily basis). It’s fair to say both robustly rejected the tone in the article.  I don’t know how this matter will end, but it will not be decided at Hampden, or in a newspaper office – cards marked one more time.

Zlatan on ending his stay at PSG, “I came like a king, I leave like a legend”. And then some.

  1. God bless you Petec, and everyone on the little blue dot, goodnight.

    Hail Hail.

  2. You know what bhoys

Davie Moyes , or Brendan Rodgers it is.

You know why, both are discarded in Epl world.

The cherry we are picking .

    Better believe it

    Ruggyman,

    I sincerely hope it’s not Moyes…..just to fuk off TBB…..but no…..he was(past tense) a failing EPL manager…..

I sorta liked what Rogers was doing with Swansea before he was lured to LFC…..where he failed as a buying manager…..un/fortunately that’s something he won’t experience as a Celt…..;-))

  5. SydneyTim says sack Lawell now on

Davie Moyes. Nope. Kept Everton mostly mid table as they are a mid table club. That’s about all he done

Plus I remember him wearing a Huns scarf

Rodgers. Nope. Had one lucky season with Liverpool. Lost his top striker and that was it

Keane for me as he will point towards London rd and tell Lawell to shut the door on way out

  6. Moyes ?

    Rodgers ?

    Keane ?

    Martin O’Neill ?

    Michael O’Neill ?

    Flores ?

Don’t think it’ll be any of the above.

They’re names are probably being leaked by, Lawwell’s media puppets to spark season ticket renewal interest….imho.

None of the above names will work under Lawwell’s strategy-puppet-strings.

Maybe when the reality of the level of scunnering is reflected in the sales of season tickets, Lawwell might be gone ?

But, if that happens, the iron is still hot and season ticket renewals must still be delayed further, till Desmond is gone as well.

If need be, buy his shares with the season ticket money.

Then, to address the short fall in Celtic’s season ticket income, take a rain-cheque in the shape of, £100 per season ticket holder increase for the next 2 seasons, reverting back to the normal price after that but,…..you will eventually own your club, making up for the promise that Fergus failed to deliver when, in 1994 he structured the club along PLC lines….to keep you out.

Remedy ‘that’ wrong then, the rebels will have truly won, they’re club for ever more.

Re: the statement into the newspapers ?

Guid luck but, be aware of being headed off at the pass by the serpent-headed Lawwell and his, planted cohorts.

3 years of no CL-money-pot under Lawwell’s watch but, the bonus remains intact. I’m sure Bro Walfrid will be happy clapping from above.

If, any manager comes in under Lawwell’s watch, be prepared to be taking up your old seat at the back of the bus.

No Celtic supporter wants to see a club being run, within the club.

That’s what is happening under Lawwell’s watch – he has to be removed.

Then, call DD’s bluff and he’ll head for the hill’s – his heart was never in it .

whilst all of that is going on….there are 3 managerial safe pair of hands who could steady the ship…imho.

    1. Big Mark McGhee who would be a Dirty Harry of a Celtic manager…imho, hunskelping(he was born to do that:)

    2. Peter Houston, an unsung safe pair of hands….imho.

    3. Big McGhee as, director of football with, Jim McIntyre Ar La as head coach.

Under no circumstances must Alan Stubbs be allowed near the dug-out. Any manager who brings in Anthony Stokes gets what they deserve…imho.

This post will be, disected, laughed at, twisted and thrown back at me but, when Ronny the project-manager gets his erse handed to him on a plate as a, going away present from Big McGhee on Sunday….you’ll remember this post.

    Good Morning All,

Busy last 48 hours spent between Drumchapel hospital and the new Queen Ekizabeth.

The people who work in our NHS are extraordinary and the care given to the elderly is astonishing.

Hands up if, when reading that last line you thought about posting “BRTH are you that old?” or something along those lines?

If your hand is up you are an arse — but a smiley one at that!

Anyway — this below is good news. This is what I like to see Celtic doing outwith signing good players, excellent managers and winning games.

Well done Peter and the team this is progress.

Hope contributions to newspaper advertisements going well but not much time before 25 May to raise the necessary.

I would again suggest notification on the giant screens at Sunday’s game to maximise the response from supporters who have no contact with CQN.

Will make a further contribution via CQN magazine site later today.

Perhaps, also leaflets in Celtic shops?

All best wishes for all your efforts. HH

Thanks for posting that link to Speirs’ column. He had hinted earlier in the week that he would refer to Offshore Tax Report.

Strange that there are no “legal intracies” to prevent publication in England but allegedly there are in Scotland. Any excuse !!! HH

I said to others during the week “Keep your eye on Graham Spiers”

Interesting he raises some points and not others. I genuinely beieve that the full implication of some of this is not fully understood yet but we are getting there.

  16. I’m ready and willing to make contribution to newspaper ads. Has the wording been complied? How much input has the club had? Have the selected newspapers’ legal hurdles been cleared?

  17. Good morning friends from a beautifully bright (broken clouds), dry, calm East Kilbride. And as it’s my Godson’s wedding today the weather is looking just about perfect.

Manager on Monday? The sooner the better. Let them asses what we have and what we need. Get budget sorted. The players go on Holiday and we get ready for Europe.

Looking forward to a new start.

    Good morning,

There was a post last night from, I think, Winning Captains addressing the points which you raise. Sorry I don’t have time to scroll back just now.

As I interpreted the post :-

CFC has been asked for a contribution, I understand.

The wording has been determined by the Res12 lads and there has been discussions with the Guardian, but awaiting response from Swiss paper.

Probably one of the Resolutioners themselves will respond later.:

    Loking good, methinks. HH

HT Hopefully I made it plain that first and foremost I preferred the money to be spent on winning players, managers and results but here is an example of Celtic going with one of the best in the business and using good PR.

The upgrading of the communications may well have something to do with conditions attached to safe standing and safety.

Having used the existing walkie talkie system on a few occasions now it is in need of upgrading. Whilst it is functional it not brilliant.

Also, I am wondering if there are plans afoot to upgrade the South stand and its facilities as that is long overdue a makeover.
