    We are not at the races here I’m afraid.

     

     

    Barca challenging us very quickly when we have possession– and we are not as sharp by comparison.

     

     

    We stand off too much– Barca looking sharper, quicker and fitter to add to their skill.

    I say again; given how we have been set up in the last couple of games, It was clear before the kick off that this selection was going to end very poorly.

    ah well, time to recognise we’re not punchin above our wait this time. Got admire Barca, apart from bein hacked off at the money differential, they’ve at least developed a unique way of playin the game.

     

     

    Mind you, we’re not even punchin to our weight this game, good as Barca are.

    Bloody disgrace.

     

    How can we put out an experimental team containing 3 guys Pukki,Derk,and Biton who have not shown any significant form since arriving,add to that Samaras,who has not played recently,and Mathews out for past 8 weeks and you have a selection detached from logic.

     

     

    This is abject stupidity irrespective if there is anything at stake or not,if NL is trying to make some point then do not do it at the expense of the Clubs reputation.

    Gave Stuttgart one think is was last season.

     

    Their players are worth incredible sums in the transfer market.

     

    We should not be in the same pitch as them.

     

    They are upper level champions league.

     

    We are UEFA cup standard.

     

    So there you go, this is the best we can do at the moment, until we can afford a £20M player for each position and have a turnover of £800M.

     

    Before anyone starts bear that in mind.

    Ambrose is not a defender. Matthews is not match fit. Samaras is a man short.

     

    A meaningless game perhaps but pride in the Celtic name demands a better showing than this.

     

    Taking nothing away from Barca, but our passing, control ball retention is poor. I just hope Barca don’t do to us what we did to Hearts. Looks like they could if they choose to.

    TurkeyBhoy, yep, Sammi is leaving Matthews exposed, causing Efe to get pulled out of position, but it stems from Sammi tonight, and I love the big ghuy, but that’s shockingly bad.

     

    Ledley out left, tighten up, Balde on, Pukki playing of him, try to compete in the second half at least.

    I think you are right you lick your wounds and move on.

     

     

    Agree with everyone on Sammi– he is just not at the races tonight and I think this will be his final CL game for us.

     

     

    However, when he goes we definitely need an impact player for Europe– in fact we need more than one.

    Outclassed, the reaction time between the 2 teams is quite remarkable.

     

     

    Lenny has made it very easy for Barca, wee bit early for Matthews.

    Pf – strange team line up tonight – new boys being shown up as not good enough also with sammi having a mare!

     

    Is this Lenny showing board how much investment is really needed- heard someone say that the team as it sits now is the core team for next years assault on CL- god help us if that is the case hh

    If we’re honest we must hope that they don’t fancy it in the second half otherwise this could be anything upwards of 6.

     

     

    They didn’t bother their backsides in Amsterdam and now they are taking it out on us.

     

     

    The team selection left a great deal to be desired and this is going to be our biggest beating in Europe in many years.

     

     

    Alright, they’re Barcelona and they are a great team BUT they have nothing to play for today and our heads have clearly gone down.

     

     

    A major overhaul of the side starts tomorrow and I don’t mean signing lower league players from England, by and large that will improve next to nothing.

     

     

    Yes the last goal the guy was offside but that is what happens in the CL if you are Barcelona, you get those calls.

    absolutely concur that Boeriggter is a chapion at hiding. He’s been chickening it since we signed him. A poor investment IMO.

    Don’t think line up or anything other than Barca’s class and spending has beaten us.

     

     

    We are getting cut open and trying to live off the few scraps that come our way through their mistakes.

     

     

    Our boys are trying to be brave in possession but we are badly outclassed. This is hide behind the sofa stuff in the big boy’s league.

    No room for error, poor luck or poor application bwhn facing the ruthlessness of total football.

    Young Matthews not remotely match fit, Effi a nightmare and Sammi not interested.

     

    Manager has to look at himself and make the subs now, or it is a real humping.

    We are beating ourselves tonight. A string of unforced errors, passing unsuccessfully when under little or no pressure, dribbling when a pass was on and failing to clear the ball too many times. Sloppy it looks and is.

     

     

    Can’t believe the selection tonight. Perhaps there are reasons ?

     

     

    PS Sorry to say it but Derk is a guy who looks for his marker during a game.
