    I’m afraid the contrast from last seasons Barca games is as plain as the nose on your face.

     

    I thought the idea of but low sell high was to when you sell high to replace those sold with a bit more quality.

     

    The champions league campaign has been a total disaster.

     

    Our team has went backwards.

     

    Last years optimism has been relaxed by abject pessimism.

     

    Obviously the PLC suits have let us down.

     

    Failure to invest on quality has cost us again, but we all knew that. Our history is riddled with this frugality.

     

     

    Yet again we are short changed .

     

     

    I fear this could be a record Euro defeat.

    Celtic’s problem is having a team far, far ahead of anything they will face in Scotland. (12-0 in last two games).

     

     

    Celtic also have a team far, far behind the elite level of the Champions League.

     

     

    In my opinion, the only way to bridge the gap is to aim for a long run of Europa League football each season whilst keeping the team together to get them used to European football.

     

     

    3 years time, have a team comfortable switching between domestic and European football.

    I always fear this type of outcome when we play top European sides. We punch above our weight time after time but potentially are always up for this type of thing. The gulf in class between us and Barca is cruelly displayed tonight.

     

    I think the team look nervous, slow and totally out of their depth. Barca are also making us look poor as the so ruthlessly expose opportunities.

     

    It’s just turned 4-0 and again their is little could have been done.

     

    I’m not sure a different team selection would have made much difference.

    Lennon has to take his share of the blame for this shambles,surely we wanted to put in a good competitive performance to take into the rest of the season.I dont buy it that he is making a point to the board about the summer signings,nobody twisted his arm to buy these players 7 to 8 million is a lot of money to make a point.January is the wrong time to buy and whoever identified these players would you trust them to spend any more millions.

    Matthews for me has had at least a part in every one of the goals. Not tight enough and not covering. Not his fault, wrong side and not match sharp. We’re being punished when one player dives in. Either you stay up or you all dive in, one player doing it breaks the shape.

     

     

    This is embarrassing now. Could end up 7 or 8. Nothing going forward because the players are afraid of the ball.

    TCC, no a bad theory, but the money to build a team is in the CL, not the Europa.

     

    This team should have learnt lessons for next year, in the CL.

    If we can not enjoy watching football being played by the Gods of the game, then we don’t deserve to watch the game at all.

     

     

    How must the rest of the Scottish teams feel ?

     

    We can do to every one of them what the Catalans are doing to us.

    Playing Barca with 3 in the middle is suicide.Derk stuck on one wing Sammi on the other doing nothing Barca having a field day because of this ridiculous line up.Lenny has no clue in Europe.None at all.FFS.The one team you dont open up to is Barca.He has played them often enough.

     

    All we have heard all week is “Celtics good name”How this helps that is a mystery to me.Changing to the Arsenal game.Cant watch this.

    The biggest let down from the suits is employing a coach who is clearly not good enough.

     

    We have a decent squad but rarely look like a team.

     

    No matter what system employed it always looks poorly implemented and incomplete.

     

    The fact is that no matter who we play there is always acres of space for opponents to exploit.

    Need somewhere to vent my frustration lol, why is Matthews playing LB ? Love the boy, think hes a smasher, but hes not kicked a ball in 8 weeks, then you have Fisher, whos been superb this season, next thing is Sami, why is he playing tonight, just because its away from home in Europe ? Hes been abysmal this season, in Europe especially, but yet, he gets played instantly because hes a “favourite”, so so so so frustrated right now, but my largest sympathy lies with the faithful who travelled to watch that, theyre owed an apology, and also some marquee signings, i think all of us deserve some big name signings, can see how bad we’ve been this season compared to last, and i dont believe in this excuse of the group of death, Ajax and Milan are very ordinary, and no better than Benfica IMO, things need to be assessed, including that midfield, worst place in the team, whats the point in having a 6m striker, if you dont have the midfield to give him chances to score ? Grrrrrr
