Beale Mathematics to the rescue!

147

If Philippe Clement thinks Brendan Rodgers’ comments about the coming game between Celtic and Newco are disrespectful, he would be advised to avoid his own side’s fan media if the result does not go their way at the weekend.

Brendan suggested, “We can have a bit of fun”, using his ability to deescalate tension in his squad ahead of a big game.  Clement, perhaps clutching his pearls, said Rodgers’ comment was “not really respectful towards my team.”  Pity help him if he encounters his own fan media in the event he loses the game.

Clement went on to do some casual Beale Mathematics.  It requires control over when you start counting the league table, a tactic which can quell a sense of inadequacy in football managers.  Beale took over from that nice Giovanni van Bronckhorst, before going on a long streak of wins and telling everyone the gap in the table was nothing to do with him.

Picking up where his predecessor left off, Clement told the media on Sunday, “Six months ago we were seven points behind; now we are three points behind and we can go equal”.  If he loses on Saturday, the reality of being two points clear one month ago, then six points behind, will stop the Belgian concerning himself with maths for a while.  As Pythagoras often said ahead of the weekend, ‘Three points are all we need, lads.”

  1. Evening all

    BIG JIMMY

I’m going to disagree with you regards Butland.

    1. Most importantly, he is a brilliant goalkeeper

    2. Big Joe is his chum.

    3. I think he has been told that, it does not matter what we do, we will get away with it.

    4. He has worked out that mob are rancid.

    5. If we sign him after Joe, that mob are going to mental.

    Mind games CSC

Good evening all from the Victoria Bar. My bets today are the reason I can’t afford that bijou residence in Larkhall.

Very rare I don’t make a game at CP,but I always make sure my ST gets used

Will be in the air when the game is played in Saturday. Won’t find out the result until I transfer in Dubai about 4 hours after the game is done. We should pump, this rotten mob, but I really fear the ref/VAR. it’s now,so only corrupt Tavpen is setting world records.

A word on the summer recruitment. None of those recruited started on Saturday. I think it’s likely even Kuhn (Jan signing) might make way for Maeda on Saturday. Last summer was an abysmal failure, the consequence being we go into Saturday’s game relying on the old guard and with he league still in the balance.

Hope Mark Lawwell is keeping his ‘phone on for that call from Man U. Given the state they’re in he’s exactly what they deserve.

It is up to the refs to punish Jack Butland’s on field behaviour, but that is not what I was referring to. Tam Gemmell put a few wingers out on the touchline, didn’t make him a bad guy……

It is definitely fake- I was just trying to prevent it spooking anyone.

Just like you prevent waking Tims up to the PLC Old Firm ticket stitch up by calling whistle blowers “Trolls”? 👀️

    In other news….

Empty seats = Less Empty heads. 👍️

Maybe the Empty seats belonged to folk who listened to mass murdering Krankie for 2 hours almost every day gaslighting frightened people who listen to the news that they would kill Granny if they didny get the, ahem, jaxx, or maybe they read the gaslighting fear campaign orchestrated by and from CQN`s very own, Dr SFTB, and the Empty seat occupants went for their, ahem, well you know the rest.

Maybe if the Empty seaters had been allowed to hear big sacked “Truther” Nurse Kate aff ae Twitter and her truth then the seats might not be empty? 👀️

Is sacked “Truther” Nurse Kate trying to tell us that the Nuns knew all about the ahem, jaxx, because the Zio’s behind it all tried the same thing 100 and odd years before? 👀️

    https://x.com/KateShemirani/status/1787573718245421423

Or,….maybe awe these Empty seats come from an area of the stadium where a guy sits and talks about “Empty seats” awe day or awe night in midweek as well? 👀️

Or,….maybe the seats are Empty because folk already know that Timmy insider trading will be taking place on Saturday…just to keep the Old Firm afloat…ye know! 👀️

    ….oot.

  8. Giving up season tkt is a personnel choice.

Before my kids were born i used to take assorted nieces and nephews when i got spare tkts.

One nephew in particular (his dad was season tkt holder at Motherwell} was always desperate to go and i was sitting with him v Hibs in stop ten in a row season in ?? March at game. 1-1 i am sure.

Before game kicked off he said you do know last game of the season(St Johnstone) is my first communion and if anyone is there i want you there but realise you will probably be here. I promised him no

matter what i would be there on his day. I was gave tkt to happiest man in Glasgow.

I still get stick from my mates when favourite games ever come up “ask him his :-)”

The boy moved to Engurland when he was 8 that year but still goes to Celtic park and abroad watching the hoops i never regretted that decision. Even missed title day against Hearts other year because i was at his sisters wedding.

Celtic mean everything to me but family more.

ps I am invited to reception of 1st niece mentioned above’s weans First communion on sat but as she had sat with me that day listening on radio she said guess your going to game. I am with my boys i will head back with my boys after game hopefully to enjoy post match and communion party.

communion parties, a very modern need.

like a horse draw carraige or a limo for the boys.

joking aside, the bbc radio will be available on the dubai flight

  11. SAINT STIVS on 7TH MAY 2024 3:34 PM

i realise i am an old thinker at 58, and my 55 years of attendance are about to be bursted this year with never being to celtic park this whole season (exp covid), but ………..

i have never really understood anyone of a footballing supporting family having a wedding during a season, why would you ?

you have the summer and now the mid season break to get married in, why would you have it during the season.

if you allow the bride to set the date and that doesnt allow you to attend a fixture then that marraige is doomed, where is the compromise ? you will be held to that for ever, some time in the future you will be at a wedding for her cousin you never met, with people you dont even like and celtic will be playing a league cup tie at arbroath but you are in milton keynes, its your own fault, hell mend you.

as to communions, they are saturday mornings for a reason, yip, so the priests can get to the game in the afternoon. do what my uncle duncan did, 1979, fixture v partick at firhill cousin susan made her communion that morning, and attended the game in full outfit in the afternoon, made a fortune.

family holidays ? during the season, seriously ? why should you miss the games because the weans want to go to disney ?

it is a mixed up world it really is.

    —–

SS – Also why would you play football on a Saturday but have a season ticket.

Why buy a car and not use it.

Why , why, why do this why do that bottom line is people will do what they want with their hard earned cash.

I agree seats should be filled.

But it’s the ST holder who will decide the club will not get involved in this.

    ——————-

i firmly believe the decision will be taken away from season ticket holders, only a matter of time till it becomes a use it or lose it policy.

the plc will get their act together about a ticket exchance scheme, it will happen sometime.

allthough match day (including season card sales) is making less a percentage of gross turnover, it is still near 30%.

revenue streams are maxxed out, sold out signs for all but 2 league games this season, and yet, thousands dont physically attend week in, week out, same seats empty, the one off for communions, family occasions holidays and whatever , the plc dont care for the reason, they care for bums on seats spending money.

we had 55,000 card holders last accounts.

allegedly we have 7,000 on a waiting list.

option 1 – build a bigger stadium, not happening anytime soon.

option 2 – replace non-attenders with people who actually attend.

we are all a number, stop attending/spending and things will change, i am convinced of that.

Dortmund 1-0 up away to PSG. Makes it 2-0 on aggregate. Let’s hope they go through. Would love them to win it.

    Ha ha!

Hoping now for an all German final at Wembley. Not that I mind Real Madrid, they are the real deal.

No, back in 2013 UEFA awarded the CL final to Wembley for the 150th anniversary of the FA, ended up Bayern versus Borussia, under Jurgen Klopp, who I wanted to win. Earlier this season the EPL media were predicting an Arsenal-Man City final totally ignoring the Euro pedigree of both Bayern and Real.

All German final again. Schadenfreude doesn’t get any better than that. If not Real will play their first ever European Cup Final at Wembley.

  21. !!Bada Bing!! on

Speaking on BBC Sportsound, he said: “If, like people were saying, McGregor was back to his best for Celtic, apparently, and pulling the strings. I’d like to see somebody to go and sort him out and, for me, Sterling can do that.

    It’s all they know…..

  22. Moravcik

Like many others, I wouldn’t offer my season ticket to anyone. I have been very busy recently with family matters and didn’t get a chance to think much about it. I offered it to one of my pals who would have taken it but he had a serious family issue of his own to tend to which ruled him out of making the game. I gave my Season Ticket to another mate for practically the whole season after the Covid season because I caught Covid (delta variant) and brought it home to my wife who was really sick with it for weeks on end so I wrote off my whole season after attending the first three home games.

I don’t really need lectures on what to do with my ST if I can’t get to a game. I suspect the Groom and his father who live in London had more on their minds too than to be running around offering their ticket up to takers. The usual takers who benefit from use of their tickets were also at the wedding.

  23. Weebobbycollins on

Celtic Mac…yes, I also would prefer an all German final but it’s hard to see past Real. However, I’ll be watching tomorrow and hoping the game is as good as last week’s or even tonight’s game which was enjoyable.

  24. Good morning all from a 10 degree, dry but overcast Garngad.
