A place in the Denmark national team would be an appropriate reward for Matt O’Riley’s early season form at Celtic. The midfielder is with the squad for the first time for tonight’s away game to San Marino. Denmark are not yet guaranteed qualification for Euro 2024, so are likely to start with a tried and tested side, but it would be great for Matt to make his international debut.
Difficult, though it is to consider, the 22-year-old is on a trajectory that will make it difficult to keep him at Celtic beyond his newly signed contract, which expires in 2027. Inclusion in Denmark’s squad for Germany next year will enhance his value.
It is also great to see Reo Hatate start for Japan (kicked off at 11.30 GMT) alongside Kyogo. Celtic need to be a reliable route for player development, including for the international team, if we are to continue to attract top players from there.
Celtic can offer players the prospect of winning trophies, playing before 60,000 fans and (for now) Champions League football, but our domestic league has drawbacks. Being able to talk about a reliable route to international football helps.

It’s well seen that Celtic weren’t playing last weekend not a lot of the bhoys not posting on here,I don’t what to say,if I say anything about how the stadium is looking or facilities inside or outside the ground,I’m slated,but I’ll say one thing,for a few seasons I have been saying the stadium needs a good kick of paint ,maybe the moderator on here should start having a debate or his views on the look of Celtic Park.

I don`t think you are missing anything ,Tom but my simplistic line of thought was that if Scotland`s two European reprsentatives were playing on Wednesday and Thursday, then logic would suggest the Wednesday team would play on the Saturday and the Thursday team on Sunday followed by the Wed team playing on the following Saturday and the Thurs team playing on the Sunday.
I won`t be at all surprised if I have got that all wrong :-))
Just heard, I think, that Greg Taylor starts for Scotland against France so another opportunity to play against top class opposition. Guessing he might be taking Andy Robertson’s place out wide, which might suit him. Should be a good experience for all concerned, hopefully the performance included.
