No shame at all. To lose 2 to 1 in Benefica is no disgrace. Could maybe should have scored last minute. However in fairness we can’t complain about the result. I still believe Benefica wont beat Barca so a win against Spartak and we are there.
Well the 67 thing didn’t work.
It’s still in our hands Bhoys going into the last round of games, Benfica deserved their win tonight, Kelvin Wilson outstanding tonight….

We beat Spartak at home and we go through . Easy
A celtic win will put us through …. Benfica will not beat barca

Benfica cut us open with ease tonight and looked a different class to the team at CP. We looked vulnerable throughout the game. Poor passing, poor retention and too many mistakes in dangerous areas.
Bright spot was FF – another stunning performance against top competition.
Thank God our last game is at home and against the weakest team in the group.

Not a great day but, whatever happens in the last game, we have European football after Xmas. How many of us would have taken that when we saw the group…

Not out it by any means. Expect Barca to beat Benfica at Camp Nou.
Up to us to beat Spartak, wont be easy but with our home record, anything is possible.

Poor performance and the best team won, no complaints. Beat Spartak and we’ll qualify, best Benfica will get v Barca B is a draw.

No complaints, best team won. We did not turn up tonight. Young management team still learning and I think tonight was a learning curve for Neil.
Onwards and upwards, still in our own hands. If we win our last match at home and barring a shock result at Barca we are through.

We didn’t play well but we’re still in it. No Victor though at CP. Nailbiter.
Ach well, not too bad only 2-1, had two half chances at the end.
If we can beat Spartak, we’ve got a real real chance of qualifiying. Barca have their home CL record and won’t want to lose it any time soon.

No complaints,but why did we not play 451,the 442,formation is not the way to play away from home.Lets hope Barca play to win in the last game.
No matter what happens in the next round of matches Celtic will still have European football after Christmas.
However, not many teams go to the Camp Nou and win, that means if we win against Moscow, most likely we will be in the round of 16.

I thought Kayal was excellent when he came on. He’ll be a fine replacement for big Vic.
Brown and Hooper were glaring weaknesses tonight and we were too slow to change. Too many players off form tonight, Wilson and Forster & Lustig best overall.
Well, at the end of the day you should not be dissapointed with these results. I guess, 90 percent of Celtic supporters would have taken these results with closed eyes before the competition started.
No boring days before the game against Spartak in Glasgow.
Hundred percent sure that Celtic will beat that Russian team.

Correct. I cannot see Benfica getting even a draw at the Nou Camp. Barcelona don’t put out weakened teams in the CL. The way they play is perfect for Barcelona’s game.

We’ve nothing to fear in the game against Spartak. We’re guaranteed post Christmas football and the potential for a dramatic evening at Celtic park is one to look forward to.
A big dod of luck will see us in the CL, otherwise the chance for a wee run in the Europa is not to be sniffed at.

Agreed, Wilson was MOTM.
Barca will make a lot of changes to starting 11 tonight but will still have Puyol, Sanchis, Villa, Song and Tello to come in, and whilst they tend to rest Xavi, Messi very rarely doen’t play and is after the world record goals total for a calendar year (think he’s 5 short at the moment)
Gallant performance from Celtic who could have snatched a draw.
Thought before the k.o. the Moscow game would be a decider, and would have taken that when the draw was made.

Would have taken European football after Christmas before a ball was kicked but we made a decent Benfica team look better than they are. Really need to work on ball retention it is what it is all about at this level.
Disappointed, but not surprised.
Whenever there is too much optimism around us it always backfires.
Thought we simply never got going in the second half. But no help at all from the ref – a real shocker of a performance, falling for every Benfica trick in the book and giving us nothing.
All to do now at Celtic Park. We’re still slight favourites.
I sometimes wonder about guys expectations. Benefica are not an average team, they are a bloody good one and were playing at home. We have punched away above our weight in this group and we still stand an excellent chance to get second place. Even if its Europa League level we are at, so what. Come on the Celts. I for one am bloody proud of ye.

Does anyone honestly and truthfully believe we deserved any more than we got out of the game? We were on the back foot for nearly the whole game playing for so long so near your own goal is likely to lead to loseing goals.I thought Forster,Wilson ,Lustig,Mathews and Sammi played well the rest I thought were below par what an unfit Hooper brings to the plate I fail to see he cannot hold a ball and make it stick to give his defence some respite and yet two guys who can do that role were sitting on the be.H.H.nch it shows Lennie is only human after all
