Benkovic should get a run out before Rosenborg

158

This has the makings of a neutral weekend in the Premiership.  Celtic face struggling St Mirren, table-topping Hearts are at struggling Motherwell and struggling Newco are home to pointless Dundee.  Only our nearest challengers in recent seasons, Aberdeen, look to have a challenge on their hands, away to St Johnstone.

That’s how it works on paper, anyway, but it football was that predictable, bookies would be poor and punters rich.  The weekend might not go to form.

Celtic have struggled to breakdown teams who defend deeply this season and you can expect St Mirren to do exactly that tonight.  No three points are guaranteed, so we will need to earn the win.

Hearts bubble may burst at Fir Park.  Motherwell have only taken points off Dundee and Newco, losing to Hamilton and Hibs, but those defeats came in the first games of the season.  They have steadied the ship since.

Dundee are rank rotten, having lost all four league games and a 0-3 humiliation at home to Ayr United in the League Cup.  Their answer was to sign out of contract – and no longer manager – Kenny Miller (38).  They have the look of cannon fodder.  They will not get a sniff at Ibrox, surely?

It would be good to see some of the new faces tonight, Filip Benkovic, in particular, who may be useful against Rosenborg on Thursday.

Three points, please, Celtic!

Did Greig Spence – are you sure that is his surname? :) – pay tax on that? He could have said that it was an Exceedingly Bad Tackle and as we know EBTs are tax free…

    Hail Hail

  2. good to have the real fitba back tonight. I went to my daughters pep rally yesterday for the football game (American). I have twin ghirls. One is a cheer leader and the other is a drummer inthe band.

I sat with the other parents and then the band started playing Zombie Nation. I was heehawing with laughter. The other parents just looked at me as if I was crazy.

My daughters came home from school and said dad did you hear it :)))))

I woke up (working Nightshift) to see the Sean Fallon documentary on BT Sport just starting.

The most Amazing documentary that is truly inspirational to Everyone no matter who you are.

    Amazing Brilliant Celtic.

  6. Neil Lennon getting it horribly wrong.

“As for the other incidents with Allan McGregor and Morelos, there probably wasn’t excessive force in those two cases, so I can understand why they were rescinded.”

No action was taken on McGregor by referee or panel so what exactly was rescinded?

I used to love listening to Sean Fallon. His voice soothed my soul. I then learned he was a Sligo man, like my grandad Delaney.

About to cross the Clyde to Paisley.

Lennon got it very wrong with the comments re the two Sevco incidents. I wonder if he would have said the same had these incidents been against Hibernian?

  12. Intellectual corner is calm and quiet…apart from the mumbling eejit on the stool…and the two blue rinses with the enigmatic smiles and pound shop make-up doing a slow cossack dance with skirt hitch to ‘take me home country roads’

There’s a wee bit of unexpected tension as the doors swing open and at least 2 dock-loads of Mirren fans burst upon the tranquil tribute to the retrospective of ‘Deliverance’. Fortunately as it turns out their idol is Helen Mirren and not St Mirren and what’s more they are in party mood having just been discharged fraethe sherrif court on trumped up charges of purloining shipwrecjed supermarket trolleys frae the Clyde.

Their banners however display a certain extremist Roman Catholic tinge that Helen Mirren may not have been happy with.

“HMRC for ever ” proSharkey’s ecumenical baptismal font andentrance to the port-a- confessional.

They celebrate their narrow escape from community service in Kinning park by induging themselves in the best Guinness Pie in the known universe,

The eejit in intellectual corner shakes his head in disbelief and gets down on it with the grab a granny crowd and an attempt at ‘let’s twist and …..scream in agony’.

The night if not the customers is young yet.

    Hail hail

  15. On form alone, it’s very hard to see this horse winning… but Aidan O’Brien & Ryan Moore have proved my reading of the form to be wildly wrong too many times in the past!

Fleagle you don’t have to name the race since you know the guy who runs the competition, and you didn’t need to put the time on the betting slip before all this online betting :-) best of luck with the 25/1 shot will keep an eye on it

    Best of luck to all
