Never been so relieved to hear the HT whistle.
We really struggle on an artificial pitch.
Taylor isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but he’s the best left-back at the club. Maybe that says more about the options in that position but Scales isn’t the answer…not yet anyway.
Scales incredibly slow, HT. Absolute horror show. We are very lucky to be only 1-0 down. Totally outplayed.

Rogic and O’Riley is not working. Scales getting no support from midfield, so bad Maeda had to drop back to help.
We should be changing the game plan. Long balls from Hart and defence, directly to the forwards. Hook one of the midfielders for Reo.
good use of the squad by Ange – understand that making wholesale changes is effectively starting a team who have never/rarely played together. Very different from making tweaks to a well oiled machine!
Having said that, with this approach – I’d have liked to have seen more of the youngsters

We have the wind second half. A 1 – 1 would be a moral victory. TV 3 (Virgin TV) are showing the game, but reception is constantly broken up.
If the quality of a person is more accurately judged in his response to adversity…..I`ll say no more.

I was one who said that we should send out a weakened team to play against this mob as the league was more important but my God that was so hard to watch. There is simply no excuse for the slack passing at this level, how many times did we give the ball away in that first half? Get home with no injuries, put Europe to bed and get on with it.
Manager can’t be surprised with the performance, if he is that’s really scary.

Ange will only be vindicated for tonights team selection by a very good win on Sunday
They have schooled us again,
They are not a bad team,their organisational skills whether in defence or attack are way above ours.
I still like squad rotation, but two players at a time maximum
Ange has done what we thought he wouldn’t and conceded this tie. Personally I’d have gone nearer full strength but that’s just me. Haven’t been online since this lunchtime so maybe I missed sonething on player availability?
Whatever ails James Forest shows no sign of abating. He’s list confidence in beating his man and his devision making/ game awareness seems to have gone too. I hope he recovers but time is running out.
The other major observation here is how poor our midfield has been again. You don’t have to be a tough tackler, you have to be a smart tackler or at least smarter in owing down your opponents progression. O’Riley is an inexperienced guy so he gets a by ball from me but Rogic and Bitton are about 5 yards further up the park or away from the play than they should be.
This game is now a free hit. Not too bothered about progressing but we need to be better.
Apparently the difference between the teams last week was, they were more clinical.
Aye very good.

Got to disagree
Their left back is a standout but other than him I wouldn’t look twice at any of their players. As a team, over 1.5 legs, they’ve been terrific
as per last weeks game , they are giving us a lesson in how to play the way ange wants us to play.
