I don’t like the run-up to home games against Kilmarnock, this was especially so when Gordon Strachan was manager. Someone would always ask Gordon the 1955 question, “Gordon, did you know….” If you don’t know the question, don’t go looking for it. It’s a fact that should ostensibly give you confidence but it only puts me into a nervous disposition. During Gordon’s time, every game felt like a must-win game. The carnage on here after a 2-2 home draw with Dundee United lives long in the memory, so the burden of a reversal at home to Kilmarnock would have been intolerable.
Celtic have an enormously impressive history which can inspire great things in the support but sometimes it’s evidently a burden to those having to go out and win the next game. Jock Stein’s famous, “The Celtic jersey doesn’t shrink to fit inferior players” quote was meant to inspire greatness and awe, but I’ve seen it used to damn contemporary players who were in no way inferior to some who played for Celtic in Jock’s latter years in charge.
Kilmarnock beat Rangers last time out and will feel as though they let two points slip away against us earlier in the season. Celtic should be sufficiently concerned to avoid premature Christmas cheer.

Earlier this season at Ibrox they were slightly the better side in the first half but they looked as if they were on benzedrine or speed in the second.
That was the most supine Celtic performance since the Dalglish inspired 4-0 debacle in 2000. On Wednesday, it’ll all be about tactics.

Terrible news and I hope young Oscar can come through this. The Power of prayer is strong, so never give up as Miracles do happen, even when there seems like no hope.
Prayers for the Wee lad and for his Mum and Dad and all his family at this difficult time.
As someone who can’t give blood because of the medication I’m on, could I urge everyone who can to please think of doing so? I can’t think of a better Christmas present to give.

They sneaked that one issue under the radar this year when few were aware of UEFA rules.
That situation is no longer the case. Apart from that there are more than one hurdle to overcome, the most serious of which has to be any “going concern” qualification and given what has been uttered about the consequences of losing the EBT case there has to be serious worries AT UEFA about Ranger’s ability to be around as Rangers in next season’s competition.
No way are UEFA going to jeopardise their competitions for Ranger’s benefit and they must be well aware by now of all the financial jiggery pokery/skullduggery that has taken place to keep them going so far.So the SFA will be under close scrutiny to get it right this time and Rangers have 3 months to leap those hurdles. Nae chance imho.
On colour – as the wee man at the barras used to say as he flung cheap combs to his watching audience – “a green yin fura feenyin.”

Simon Lynch will turn the clock back tomorrow when he walks out at Celtic Park.
In May 2000 he was a relatively unknown striker hoping to make his mark in the first team as the Kenny Dalglish era ended with all eyes on Henrik Larsson making his comeback after a horrific leg break against Lyon.
This time Lynch won’t have ten team-mates on his side but just a trusty guitar and that strange mix of nerves, excitement and adrenalin as he introduces his own single ‘Sounds of Paradise’ to the Celtic support.
In May of this year Lynch made his You Tube debut with the humorous ‘Life of a Busker’ single with interest from that taking him from the streets of the city centre into the centre circle of Celtic Park.
“I was taken aback by the attention that I got from the YouTube video,” he admitted, preparing for his big day. “I put that song out to test the water and got a lot of positive feedback, I couldn’t believe the amount of people that were interested in it and looking for a follow up.
“I had a catalogue of songs that got sent on to a few people and the demo of ‘Sounds of Paradise’ ended up with someone at Celtic Park who suggested that we contact Celtic direct.
“I did that then got a phone call from Tony Hamilton to come in and speak to him. I didn’t know what he was going to say and when he suggested that I sing it at half-time I was wondering if this was really happening.
“I guess it’s a similar feeling as when you are a young lad and get the nod to play in front of 50,000 fans, it’s almost dream like.
“There are two different types of nerves but I’ve got a similar feeling for Saturday as I did when I made my first team debut against Dundee United. Playing in front of a large amount of people is great but singing about the club I’ve supported all my life makes this extra special, it’s not just any stadium.
“I’ll have plenty of friends and former team-mates coming to the match. It’ll be a good day and from twitter there seems a lot of people who’ve downloaded the song and are pleased that I’ll be singing at half time.”
After three seasons trying the impossible- breaking into a team that included Larsson, Chris Sutton and John Hartson- Lynch moved on to Preston before spells at Dundee, Airdrie and Stenhousemuir and a stint in Australia with Queensland Roar.
Realising that his playing days weren’t going to last forever he enrolled for university and has moved into the property market as well as getting involved in the music business.
“Music and football have always been two of my big passions,” he added. “I was in a band with my brothers, The Oracles, before I went full time with Celtic, we were actually quite successful and it looked like we’d get a record contract but signing for Celtic put all that on the back burner.
“I continued to play my guitar throughout my football career then a year ago a friend introduced me to a music producer, he knew that I’d written a few songs and I let him hear them and things went from there.
“It was never in my mind that I’d get into music again, it was just something that I enjoyed doing and that’s still the case today, I don’t take it too seriously.
“You’ve got to do what you enjoy and if an opportunity comes up take it. I decided last year to stop playing football, my heart wasn’t in it after 12 years as a professional, I enjoyed every moment at different clubs and levels.
“I’m not really sure what will happen next but I’m not thinking beyond returning to Celtic and singing in front of the supporters.”

The question remains why did they get a licence this season ?
There has been lies told or someone at the sfa has granted the licence knowing they were breaking uefa’s rules, in this respect I am astounded that Celtic and other scottish clubs have allowed to happen, as if they had asked any questions we would know about it.
The corruption within scottish football is rife.
Are they scared to open the box ?
IMO some of the small shareholders should get together and fire off a solicitiors letter to the sfa demanding clarification as to why the licence was granted, after all, tis the shareholders who have been defrauded.
The belt will be in the post next week, black writing will be acceptable I assume, looks good with a green background.
