It’s been a long time since we’ve had a home game; 4th August, against Aberdeen. Since then we’ve played five games on the road, three of which involved international travel, with two games in the Highlands.
Statistical analysis shows that form suffers when teams are forced to pile-up away fixtures. Training schedules are interrupted as travel eats into time which would otherwise be spent fine-tuning fitness or working on defensive/forward strategy. Instead Celtic have improved enormously from their Flag Day at the beginning of the month, despite, or perhaps, because, Neil Lennon has indulged in extensive use of a squad rotation policy.
No one at Celtic will be complacent ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League play-off, the ghost of Ross County in 2010 and Inverness in 2011 will see to that. One ‘Big Dan Moment’ is all it takes to turn a comfortable lead into a tight tie with a player deficit, but I suspect Neil Lennon will be more concerned with putting the brakes on his players, rather than motivating them. A calm and organised performance is required.

Bastard nightmare creations of a diseased mind, artificially created and an affront to decency and nature.

I was under the impression BDO would formally liquidate oldco circ September, with the delay being BDO’s current investigation of D&P’s ‘relationship’ with whyte etc, and their management of the Administration Process, which was strange, to say the least…??
Any idea of who pays the Liquidator’s bill ……..??
Forres Mechanics?
I honestly don’t think my funny bone can take any more of this.
I don’t have a problem with Forres Mechanics coming to Celtic Park.
Forres Mechanics v MOT failures.
I wonder if Berwick’s disallowed goal, will make it to Rumour Bagwash’s round up on STV tonight ?

Fully agree……i will not be going anywhere near a game against the (proven) most corrupt club in European (possibly World) history…….. Not even if the ticket was priced at 1p, or free…… took long enough to get rid of them…….

After an edgy encounter in Sweden, Celtic will be looking to cement their place in the group stages of the Champions League.
They take a 2-0 lead back home with them, however Neil Lennon’s side will be taking nothing for granted as they look to make the group stages for the first time since 2009.
DATE: Wednesday, August 29
KICK-OFF: 7.45pm
VENUE: Celtic Park
TV CHANNEL: Sky Sports 2
CELTIC INJURIES
Joe Ledley and Beram Kayal are definitely out with Celtic manager Neil Lennon hopeful Thomas Rogne, Scott Brown, Georgios Samaras and Kris Commons will be available for selection after sitting out Saturday’s 4-2 win against Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
Prior to last week, Celtic last played Helsingborgs away in a friendly in 2003, with the Parkhead side running out 3-2 winners.
Last week saw Celtic defeat the Swedish champions 2-0 with goals from Kris Commons and Georgios Samaras.
ODDS
8/ 15 Celtic win
3/1 Draw
5/1 Helsingborgs win
KEY PLAYERS
Despite winning 2-0 in the first leg, Celtic struggled to control the midfield for large parts of the game. The return of Victor Wanyama should provide a much-needed backbone to the Parkhead side’s play.
Helsingborgs had many a golden opportunity in front of goal when these two sides met last week and it is unlikely that they will enjoy as much possession as they did in their home leg.
They will be looking for a more clinical performance up front from new signing Nikola Djurdjic.
Forres Mechanics vs Forrest Gumps.
when is the big tax case going to declare.
when is the Lord Nimmo Smith enquiry going to declare.
when is the search for a handsome hun going to end

Forres A Grand Old Team To Play For
Have they made up the excuse for disallowing Berwick’s goal yet?

Absolutely ……..had me worried there….another 2 years of the meeja fantisising would have been a minor irritation ……LOL …….. once they are formally liquidated, hopefully next month, BDO can take 10 years if they like ……..hope the charges come out of the asset sales..LOL
Servco better hope Forres Mechanics don’t get out of 1st gear when they play them.
I’ll get my coat.
LOTS OF LLLLOOOOLLLL ……….!!
iki-VG.
The dilemma about future attendance at a Celtic v Sevco game is one that has played in my mind a bit.
Like some I wont be going if drawn against them.
I dont want to give them any feeling of being a continuation of being the old club.
When it eventually happens, the MSM will report a return of the Old Firm fixture, and quote the history aspect of it.
If I had a say at an executive level in Celtic, I would sell the game as a “first”.
I wouldnt quote a single previous game against the old club in any programme or sales tactic. Dont be party to legitimising any of their misguided understanding of who they think they are.
Having said that, on current form, if we did draw them in any of the cups, I would expect the boys to rack up a record scoreline against the 4th tier team.
12-0 would be good, to break our own record scoreline, but equally a 1-0 victory would also be a record scoreline in this first encounter.
Honestly, I am loving this season so far, not for a moment have i yearned for the old fixture. Its gone, and the air is cleaner, the streets safer, and the rest of football gets on with paying their bills and supporting their teams.
Given Fatso’s cup record anyway, it wont happen anytime soon.

I have been listening to radio Scotland on my way back from Aberdeen,
they were talking to a Belfast reporter
about a man who was arrested at the weekend ,
apparently he was involved in a incident outside St Patricks in Belfast ,
he was with his fellow orangemen when he was arrested ,
his address was in Glasgow ,
he pleaded with the judge to release
him, as he would lose his job if he did
not return to work asap,
God bless the wee judge,
for he remanded him in custody
for 4 weeks ..

Ticket Sales Surge
I think a degree of honesty on here as regards Sevco would be useful. It is quite obvious that although they are patently not the exact same Rangers as once existed, they still hold something very close to that in our minds. Any Celtic supporter who did not enjoy them dropping points at Peterhead and Berwick can probably say that they really don`t see them as an extension of the old club. For those of us, and I very strongly include myself in this group, who glean lots of pleasure from the Third Division club`s woes, then it is quite clear that we still see them as being Rangers in some form. I,too, can see the appeal of non-attendance should we draw them at Home in any Cup but the prospect of gubbing them is also very appealing.
Hopefully, this is my last post on Them . I am looking forward to Wednesday and agree with our manager. Helsingborgs looked dangerous on a good few occasions this tie is not over by a long way.

BSR- I had to check that one there, get Subo to release it as a single for wee Knoxy, simples.
….and another thing! I saw an article in The Daily Express ( I didn`t know it still existed!!) by Charlie Nicholas. Next day, I saw one by Craig Burley in another `paper (Sunday Mail??) . Bothe of these Celtic stalwarts were booming that Celtic MUST spend the £6 million Ki money on new players. That was quite enough for me to think we would be better off saving it!
