Hamilton Accies had a remarkable season in the sun under Billy Reid when James McCarthy, James McArthur and Alex Neil took them into the top flight a few years back, but while they no longer have a midfield packed with that kind of talent, this season’s incarnation are delivering above expectations.
They’ve lost only once in 10 outings (all in the league), a run which goes back to the middle of September. They’ve taken points from six of the top seven teams, only Celtic, whom they’ve yet to face, haven’t suffered at their hands. This is a hard team to beat.
Brendan Rodgers will look at this game as an opportunity to rest some limbs. Scott Brown had a busy autumn for club and country; he looks fresh, but that’s the way to keep him. I’d be tempted to give Nir Bitton a start in his place.
Mikael Lustig and Craig Gordon are others who may benefit from a rest. Like Jozo Simunovic is now both were considered too fragile to play multiple games in a week in recent times. We’ll need them, and Scott, before the month is out.

The stripping of titles will kill off the Old Firm brand so for me the BTC is a moot point. Look at the quandary the PLC are in just now over the WTC.

I don’t have a problem on my computer cos I downloaded ad blocker, but as I have a crap broadband width I find streaming a pain as it keeps buffering due to the ad blocker eating up the broadband, I was out this morning and used the wifes iphone to get on CQN, waste of time, the adds were a joke, many people will NOT download a blocker hence the blog doing poorly.
I have no idea what Paul makes from the adds but the revenue will drop as the hits to the site drops and when punters go elsewhere it’s really hard to get them back.
I think it was James Forrest, could be mistaken, sorry if it wasn’t you James, that said that the money from the adds wasn’t worth it for the hassle, so I hope Paul is making enough.
Personally I think he should make the site a donation to read and post, it would stop all the adds and trolls in a oner, it works for other Celtic sites.

The Big Hoose must stay upright………
thats the bottom line CSC
I’m thinking,
Gordon
Gamboa Kolo Erik Izzy
Brown Armstrong Rogic
Roberts Griffiths Mcgregor
Not sure Craig Gordon needs to be “rested”.
If Brown is left out, surely McGregor gets a start ahead of Bitton?
Maybe an opportunity to try Dembele and Griffiths together?
Fairhill,
Thanks for your reply yesterday mate.

Is Logan fit again? He would be less of a risk than Dorus imo.
I prefer a keeper who is noted for saving shots rather than kicking the ball.
Still think Craig Gordon is the best of the three.
Getting ready for a nice wee trip to Paradise, big thank you to the Sunderland car club who are members of the Tyneside No 1 Csc for the lift, true supporters

I would go with the same team as you have picked but with GMS instead of McGregor .
I would bring Callum on at some stage though. Either to keep Armstrong fresh; to keep Rogic injury free or not to rush GMS.
I should be confident about tonight but as is nearly always the case as a Celtic supporter, I am aware of a possible off night/ honest mistakes scenario. Fortunately, that feeling ( at least of the off nights!) is diminishing since Brendan came in.

Meant to ask: How is Forrest`s injury?
Pretty much impossible to pre pick Brendan’s side for tonight too many variables, and a wealth of options from a squad who are all performing when selected.
Very happy ‘predicament’ for BR CSC
If Celtic don’t win 9-1 then I’m afraid I don’t see any progress from last season…
8-0 would also be an acceptable sign of progress.
Just watched highlights of Celtic`s 8-1 victory over Hamilton. After Celtic scored their EIGTH goal , the commentator observed that with just one minute to go, that COULD wrap things up !!

What about 8-0 ?

MANCHESTER CITY midfielder Yaya Toure has apologised to fans after admitting drink-driving, but insisted he had “not intentionally consumed alcohol”.
The Ivory Coast international said on Tuesday he had admitted the charge at a Monday court hearing, after being arrested in Dagenham, east London, on November 28.
In a statement released on his website Toure said he wanted to explain why, as a Muslim who does not drink, he had not contested the charge.
He said: “I have always refused alcohol. Anyone who knows me or follows football will have seen me refuse champagne for man-of-the-match performances because of my commitment to my religion.
“The matter has now been resolved in court on Monday. As I was above the permitted limit when tested on the night, I decided not to challenge the charge.
“However, it was important to me that I told the court that I had not intentionally consumed alcohol. The judge in his sentencing remarks accepted that I had not been intentionally drinking.
“My children had been feeding me low calorie diet yoghurt based wine gums and when mixing this with diet free lemonade they must have combined to release the wine into my blood stream. As Allah is my witness I do not drink alcohol knowingly or tell porky pies, but I would love to be able to eat one or two”
“Drink driving is a serious crime and even though I was not intentionally consuming alcohol I accept the ban and fine and I would like to apologise for this situation.”
Toure was fined £54,000 and banned from driving for 18 months when he appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Monday, court officials said. He had been due to appear in court on Tuesday.
Toure, the brother of former Liverpool and Arsenal defender Kolo Toure, who was responsible for two goals against Borussia Moenchengladbach and cost Celtic their Champions League Berth, joined City for £24million from Barcelona in 2010 and is believed to earn around £200,000 a week.
HOT SMOKED
Pretty sure Brendan said at the weekend there that Forrest would be out for “just a few weeks.”

Thanks!

The Mirror report was better, because it contained this line:
“On Monday Toure, wearing blue trainers, black jeans and blue trainers, arrived at court in a chauffeur driven black Mercedes with tinted windows.”
So disgusted with his colour clash of blue trainers and black jeans that they had to reiterate that they were in fact blue trainers.
Quite right.
Furthermore, in the Mirror report, I thought they were being a bit over familiar with the judge:
“District Judge Lucie handed the footballer an 18 month driving ban, a £54,000 fine and also ordered him to pay a victim surcharge of £170 and costs of £85.”
Then I realised that Lucie isn’t the judge’s first name, it’s Judge Gary Lucie.
Which made me think; what qualifies a guy that was in Footballer’s Wives to be sentencing actual footballers?
The world has gone all topsy-turvy

A whole day’s wages – shocking :-)
Yaya Toure said he was at a party with a bunch of ‘friends’ and was drinking what he thought was ‘Irn Bru’ three days later he wakened up inside a wheelie bin, with half of his hair shaved off.

Will be pushing against the lazy gene tomorrow on the 18.06 from kilpatrick, all stations
*Reminds me of standing in Queen Street Station for another trip hame, used tae like going intae Glasgow from Prestwick and getting the train down tae the Bonnie Banks, that way I could pass all the landmarks I knew growing up.
Anyway that morning the announcer over the tannoy said “the next train is the Helenburgh via Kilpatrick stopping at all stations except Kilpatrick…I think.
I knew I was back hame then.
Toure was remanded in custody after cuddling the clerk of the court, professing that he “loved him, man” and falling asleep during sentencing.
Preston North End have signed out-of-contract pair Andy Boyle and Daryl Horgan from Irish champions Dundalk on two-and-a-half-year contracts.
*I thought sevco were supposed tae be in for these 2 who were both were in MON’s squad for the WC qualifier last month.
I know they have signed a couple of Irish lads but I cannae see anyone who played in the bandit country, especially a lhad fae the “City of the Tribes” signing for them. What’s next a player fae Crossmaglen.

So tonight we take on a side who look to be a respectable 8th in the table and should the unforeseen happen they win would be in the top 6, however, they are also only 2 points in front of the bottom club, are 24 points and 35 GD adrift of us, not only that they are just 3 days back fae a trip tae the heilans and look tae lose their best player within a month.
Oh aye and in another 3 days they take on sevco, some computer that arranges these fixtures. A nice wee win tonight without scudding and demoralizing them will do, the accies that is.
The problem is not the advertising. It´s technical numptyness of which our support is the world´s leading light.

what kind of wine gums are yaya’s kids eating? most Wine gums dont have any alcolhol in them
there are a few places that make wine gums with alcohol… but most recipes call for 1/2 glass of wine which makes about 100 candies! so, you would have to eat an awful lot of gummies to blow over!
