Celtic fans get stuck into our reason for being, nomad moot

765

Congratulations to The Kano Foundation for their magnificent fifth annual charity dinner on Saturday.  The Kano story is beyond incredible and a credit to those who call ourselves Celtic fans – whether you are involved with them or not.

Well done also to everyone who participated in the Celtic Foundation Zip Slide across Celtic Park on Saturday, in aid of children’s’ charities.  It was exhilarating and is sure to be repeated.  A weekend without Celtic and hundreds of Celtic fans get stuck into our reason for being.

They can blame the last guys for the lack of commercial revenue streams, or for paying incompetent coaches too much money.  They can even blame them for over-ambition when it came to funding the playing squad, but for all of its short corporate life, Rangers International PLC’s previous board members have been able to produce accounts on time and all received approval from authorised nominated advisers.

If the new board members are unable to deliver a nominated adviser, blaming the old board, as one newspaper tried today: “largely because of the scorched earth policy implemented by the previous board in the last days of the Mike Ashley empire – they must do so before the City shuts down for the Easter holiday”, would be both dishonest and a very worrying (for some) departure from a company which seeks to build its corporate reputation.

This entire question should be moot.  Mike Ashely didn’t need to be on the newco board to exert the control he needed with an 8% share and neither would Dave King.  King could easily take a back seat and appoint trusted men of stature who would breeze the nomad requirements.  We can only speculate as to why King NEEDS to be on the board, and don’t count on anyone who can get close enough to King, or his PR, asking this question.  The entire uncertainty is an unnecessary nonsense.

I haven’t been on much recently, has Murray been rubberstamped then by the SFA as the “new Captain Bligh on the new Ship of Fools??” Or is he just doing what he always did, open his mouth and let his belly rumble?

BRTH – surrely the most interesting part of those results is that they have been without an auditor since last summer – no wonder they can’t find a NOMAD.

Yes there is so much in there to pick through it will take ages to work all the way through it and the consequences.

It is shockingly worded and completely unnecessary.

I would have been tempted to say absolutely nothing and suffer the wrath of the regulator and be delisted for failure to be compliant rather than make that statement.

BlantyreKev and Barca saying in twitter they gave up at the second paragraph.

In tehcnical terms it is as shockingly as bad a statement as you can imagine — I think!

  5. I’d be mortified if the chairman of Celtic came out with a statement as badly drafted and clunky as that.

Also, incredibly patronising, and choc full of moonbeams…

You really gotta wonder about the calibre of the new guys at the helm… Are they just morons?

Being told they will be delisted within the week! Thursday PM.

Statement is a total pile of bullshit.

Expect Paul to rip it to pieces later having had a bit of time to take it in.

Hello again all you young rebels.

Well our great Celtic cruise round Oz is going great guns we

are now steaming into the Kimberly region ( for bmcuw/ dd )

very hot and steamy and heading towards Darwin, had another

sesh with good tims in Port Douglas and the Maitre d’ of the

ships restaurant had shore leave and decided to join us in the

local pub where he regaled us of his knowledge of the bhoys

and how they were the only team to win the big cup with a team

of players all from the one city, asked him how he knew this,

turns out he is Italian and his brother has a restaurant in Glasgow

and is always reminding him of this fact when he phones him.

Phoned our grandson while sitting in the bar and the first question

he asks ” Papa have you met any Celtic supporters yet ?

” of course i have i’m sitting with them just now ”

So i said to them all it’s my wee grandson he wants to know if

there’s any tims here, and they all launched into a rendition of

hail..hail to all the local peoples surprise and delight, the wee mhan

said ” Papa Oz is really all green and white ”

I said ” the world son and never forget that ”

Into Darwin tomorrow so bring on the next meet up with the Celtic

    family, can’t wait.

In other news, our own Burnley78 was recently given an award by the Institute of Directors.

Now, I am not one who hangs any great significance on awards and the likes but well done to our Paul becuase that is a recognition of good corporate governance and business standing and you have to earn that kind of thing.
