CELTIC’S Premiership kick-off against St Johnstone at Parkhead on Christmas Eve has been brought forward.
The champions and their Perth opponents have both agreed on a 12.30pm start instead of the original 3pm.
It took a stoppage-time strike from Giorgos Giakoumakis for Ange Postecoglou’s men to overcome Callum Davidson’s side at McDiarmid Park earlier this month.
However, it was an entirely different story the last time the Saints played in the east end of Glasgow on April 7 and the roof fell in on them as the champions elect ran amok to clock up their biggest win of the campaign, a 7-0 romp that left their rivals shattered.
The game was over as a contest by the interval with the hosts three goals ahead with strikes from Reo Hatate, Giakoumakis and Daizen Maeda.
Josip Juranovic netted the fourth with a penalty – remarkably the last spot-kick the team have been awarded – before Matt O’Riley chipped in with a double and Liel Abada claimed the other.
An action replay would certainly make it a Merry Christmas!
