Celtic join Barcelona, Milan and Ajax in the Champions League’s only group of former champions.
We beat Barcelona and Milan the last time we played each of them, and eliminated Ajax from the same competition last time we met 12 years ago. This is an incredibly difficult group, but it is the job we wanted this time yesterday.
Now we must get ready for the task ahead. Prepare properly and fear no one.
There will be a ticket scramble, among those who didn’t renew their season tickets………..

15 European Cups in Group H, only group B comes close to that and they have Real and Juve. Did not agree with ticket policy last year, though it made sense in a business sense, it made it very difficult for many of our supporters to see even one home game. Expect it to be the same this time around, but you never know.
Sally magnusson giving a shout of Celtic on bbc news there. Sacked in the morning :)
Looking at that Group, and the revenues it will bring in, not to mention the opporunity to boost the profile of Scottish football, the chance that the country might just be able to sieze centre stage for a night (or two) not to mention the chance it might drag one or two bigger sponsors into the sport in our country, I can think of only one outcome…… Armageddon.
What’s the exchange rate for lira pesetas and guilders……..oops Hun mask showing through
Lets watch Lenny’s Lions grow up with the big Bhoys, I wonder who will be our Star’s this season. Adam stood up last night and Lustig and Sammy was Sammy. Watched it all again today then watched the draw and i don’t think i can get anymore pride in my heart tonight.
What a club.

I was looking forward to going to a couple of the away games, I said the next time I went to Barcelona I’d need an oxygen mask to get up those bloody stairs. I think I’ll give that one a miss.Unless Kikinthenakas comes up with a seat next to his last year. Milan I never did like that place so another no. that leaves Ajax,ah well one out of three will have to do.
Looking forward to the three full house home games though.Another three meals and bevvie thrown in,what’s not to like.
What a great day I had yesterday, meeting up with the bhoys, I started to drink at 11,15 am in BBs as I had to put my bag up in my room for the nights stay.I finished supping up at around 02.30 am in the morning in the company of WGs son, He can do a bit of drinking too.
We went into the Corinthian Club for the last hour and a half. wgs son is a good spotter of Celebs, first to show his face was our Frank McAvennie he posed for a picture, then in came Beram Kayal, Boerigter, Tony Watt, Lukas Zaluska, Anthony Stokes, and Bobby Petta, they all posed for a picture with young WG.
There was another there But the name slips my mind at the moment,
What an ending to a great day.
When do the tickets go on sale?
She then tried to recover…too late. hun!

Paul67, Your last couple of lines look a bit snidey. I thought this club was open and inclusive? Times are hard. Those who didn’t renew this season presumably stuck around last season. The circumstances are exactly the same.
There seems to be a real air of antipathy coming from spokesmen of the club to sections of the support. The danger is you will only alienate the target further or is it a ma baw attitude now that we are in the Champions League?
We made a real mistake in playing openly in the first leg against the Kazaks. A schoolboy error. We made a real mistake in selling Hooper and not having another goalscorer to slot in. If we only sign Pukki we are making another mistake. I also still think there is a chance we will sell other members of the first team squad before the deadline…
Possible dates/ venues based on last year:

Hey ho, back again this year.
BSR
Nice stuff.
Stokes did the unconventional thing. Instead of shielding the ball and passing wide or behind him, or creating half a yard and then trying a shot, he dribbled. They were at first not prepared for that, then the last guy wouldn’t tackle him/stick out a leg in case he gave a way a penalty.
Stokes then laid back the kind of pass that he never received all night, and JF made the run that Stoked had been making all night.

25 to 1 to get out of the group, 100 to 1 to win the group and 1500 to 1 to win the CL, nice wee treble…
praecepta, the order of the teams in the group are randomly picked by a computer, they are not based on the Pots.
This is happening now.
DONT GO BOOKING flights and hotels yet , possibly another hour or so.

Charlie Nic all “we” this and “we” that talking about Arsenal.
However, I have NEVER heard him refer to Celtic as “we”. Only ever “they”. And very rarely positively.
+++++++++++++++++++++
A bit harsh – Charlie looked chuffed to bits when talking about Celtic, I thought.

Not sure of dates – TV schedules will be set around 3 German Teams v 3 England Teams + 2 Spain v Italian and everyone thereafter.

Saw your post – many thanks.
Just that I thought that Pot 1 Teams always gets to play Pot 4 back-to-back in the middle of the fixtures.
Gessus H Krikey… today we learn who we dine with at the top table, but still we get the predictable ‘jokes’ about sevco and who they got…
Give it a rest for fecks sake! This is a Celtic blog, and even in jest I really don’t give a shag about them! Seriously, drop all mention of the soo’siders, this will be a far better place for it.

Your 12.30 article is a gem of reverse engineering.
Looking backwards trying to rebuild the past.
I have to say that your viewpoint is partial, forced and slanted.
It really is the view of our past as dictated by a self serving PL.
However that is behind us, the question is what do we do next?
My question to you — and by extension PL — where is your growth agenda?
Malc
Did you manage to get the game?

Neil said that Biton has been granted a work permit and should sign. On Pukki, he said we are in advanced talks. Asked if anymore, he said probably one more.

19.21 Share on Johan Cruyff on AFC Ajax, who will play AC Milan, FC Barcelona and Celtic FC in Group H: “It’s a fantastic thing for football that these clubs get drawn against other. It’s another group of champions – football is like that and you’ve got to enjoy yourself and make the best out of it. Play as well as you can and make the best of it. We have to aim for the last 16; we have a young team and they play well together, so let’s see what happens. Last year we showed that we were capable of knocking Manchester City out of Europe; let’s aim for the same again.” Share on Here’s a look back at perhaps the most famous meeting of AC Milan and FC Barcelona: the 1994 final, which the Rossoneri won 4-0 in Athens.
19.12 Share on Neil Lennon, whose Celtic FC team completed a famous comeback last night against FC Shakhter Karagandy, told Sky Sports News: “It’s the worst draw we could have got. In terms of glamour it doesn’t come any better, but in terms of football it couldn’t have been worse. There’s a lot of excitement. They’re three great footballing arenas and three great clubs with great pedigree in this competition. There’s so much to savour, but it’s going to be hugely difficult for us to get through.”
18.56 Share on Messi on Group H: “You never get easy groups in the Champions League. We know Milan well and played Celtic last season, while Ajax have a lot of European history.”
