Celtic join Barcelona, Milan and Ajax in the Champions League’s only group of former champions.
We beat Barcelona and Milan the last time we played each of them, and eliminated Ajax from the same competition last time we met 12 years ago. This is an incredibly difficult group, but it is the job we wanted this time yesterday.
Now we must get ready for the task ahead. Prepare properly and fear no one.
There will be a ticket scramble, among those who didn’t renew their season tickets………..

On the draw there is no denying it is attractive and will be some great games. However, getting bored playing Barca and to a lesser degree Milan but that’s probably because I’ve done Camp Nou to death and have been to the San Siro, impressive Stadium from the outside but tired inside.
Most exciting trip for me would be Ajax.
Real in the last 16 please.

After the draw was over I bet that Barcelona, Milan, and Ajax don’t fancy a trip to Celtic Park. And Celtic will be kicking themselves for not extending the south stand by adding another tier.
When will they announce the dates if the fixtures?

Had a look at the draw,and it could have been a lot worse!
I reckon anything could happen in our group. For sure,Milan and Ajax have seen better times,but they will still be confident.
We have to do the donkey work at home. And then some hard shifts away….
Overall,not predicting our group. But I will make one prediction.
Only English club in the last 16 will be Chelsea.

Just watching last nights game
I’ve got to say that my admiration for James Forrest is huge.
That tackle on him was far worse than I thought at the time and he was obviously in real pain after it.
Far tougher to stay on than come off.

As someone pointed out above (sorry, I forgot who) …. big credit to Anthony Stokes for last night….
he sometimes gets accused of not being a smart or team player …. but he did a power of work last night, got in some good positions, and at the end, was skillful and smart enough to run at the defenders (the last defender didn’t want to give up a penalty, so he didn’t really even try to tackle him …. smart play by AS) … and that cut back for JF to finish… what we’ve been screaming for …
Has he signed his new contract? If not, PL get it done!

I made prediction before the season started – it went like this…
Celtic to win the domestic Treble
Celtic to defeat Sevco in one of the cup competitions.
Celtic to reach the CL group stages and finish 3rd
Celtic then fall into the EL reaching the semi final stage.
We’ll see.
