Celtic Park Race Night for Oscar

1423

Football can be a primitive sport on occasions but before kick off at Cardiff tonight the Wales and Scotland players will acknowledge the nation’s thoughts for a family in distress. The game provides many of us with opportunities to remember we are members of a complex and caring society. The The Wee Oscar 4 Life team have asked me to invite you to next month’s race night at Celtic Park. This is from them:

Be a hero for Wee Oscar and come along and join us for the WeeOscar4Life Race Night and Auction on 17th November in the Kerrydale Suite at Celtic Park!

Wee Oscar and his family flew to Philadelphia on the 6th October to start Wee Oscar’s potentially lifesaving Immunotherapy treatment, unfortunately due to health complications Wee Oscar was rushed into Intensive Care and it appears that these complications have shattered the prospect of receiving this immunotherapy treatment in Philadelphia. The events from the last few days have strengthened the WeeOscar4Life Campaign’s resolve to ensure maximum support for Wee Oscar and his family throughout Wee Oscar’s treatment. Set-backs such as this mean that it’s now more important than ever to raise additional funds.

The WeeOscar4Life campaign are proud to continue our fundraising for Oscar and his family during his treatment; Lisa Hague, Patron of the campaign, and Partner of Celtic’s Kris Commons says ‘This is the next stage of fundraising which will directly support Oscar and his family throughout the treatment and we implore the Celtic Family to continue supporting this incredibly worthwhile appeal. The Race Night and Auction is going to be a wonderful night and I can’t wait for the fun!”

Tom Boyd, the captain who stopped 10, said, “It will be my pleasure to support the WeeOscar4Life campaign by attending the race night next month. The backing shown by the Celtic Family already has been nothing short of extraordinary, and has inspired many of us to get involved and help this family through such an abysmal time.”

10 WeeOscar4Life Corporate tables, seating 10 people, are available on a first come first served basis offering preferential seating, drinks package, snacks, free entry and company advertising/printed logos. Early booking is advised as advanced reservations mean there is limited availability.

WeeOscar4Life seats are available and can be purchased individually or as groups at £7 per ticket. Again these seats will be sold on a first come first served basis. Snacks will be available on each table. Tables seat 10 people.

On the night there will be 8 races a raffle and an auction.

Race sponsorship is also available at £250 per race.

Jockey and Owner sponsorship is also available at £5 per Jockey or Owner. Each winning Jockey and Owner will receive a prize.

To reserve tickets or request further information please contact the team at here WeeOscar4Life@gmail.com.

  1. Are we sure we’re talking about anti-Scots racism, and not just anti-SFA sentiment towards a culture that has sh@t on Celtic since it first had the chance?

Being Scottish myself. I have a lot of respect for my fellow Scots that are prepared to admit the massive and rather evil contribution we made to the success of the British Empire, eg the Triangular Slave Trade etc etc.

If we can admit that and acknowledge contemporary disturbing and moronic racist attitudes, then we can maybe deem ourselves worthy of the praise the Scottish MSM adorns us with.

  2. Just watched ‘Man on Wire’: brilliant.

Internationals are no longer of any real importance.

We are all globalised mongrels. And I mean that in the best possible way. My ancestry goes all the way back to Scandinavians who settled in Ireland , some came to Glasgow in the earliest years of the 20th. Century, and I have lived here, there and everywhere. Home is in my head.

My allegiance is to Celtic F.C. That is my tribe.

    Who invented ‘borders’ anyway?

    Just sayin’.

As the offspring of Scottish parents brought up in england have to agree with your comments. Borders brought in to divide and conquer.

  4. Had to laugh when I head Levein pre-match being asked, “Are you confident?”

3 second pause, with head drop.

“Am puttin out ma best team available”.

Me; “Craig, this is the best team you’ve ever put out yet !”

    Craig: “Aye, am confident……”

Didn’t even watch the game….(couldn’t)….but as soon as saw the line up, knew Scotland would score goals.

Craig’s a downtrodden man. He’s on a tight leash, and that includes team selection. This was not a result his handlers wanted.

I think you are right about it being anti SFA rather than Scotland.

I’m Scottish and it is unbelievable what the Bowling Club chumps have done to our National game because make no mistake it is the same peepil that have done this to the game in Scotland.

Scottish Football will recover very well once the whole lot of the bampots are removed from their positions (Boardrooms to the Referees) and true transparent governance is brought into the game. If it doesn’t change then the overall standard will keep going down and down and it is already very low.

Jackie McNamara made a good point tonight about entertaining the fans and that he was all for a 16 team League. With the League so small there is no room for the players to go out there and express themselves because of Fear, the Fear of losing. As the song goes, we don’t care if we win, lose or draw. It is all about entertaining the fans, that is what makes people want to go.

There has to be a new mindset across the board in Scotland, where flair players are encouraged and the bruisers are booked as soon as they foul, none of this “first foul” nonsense because if you look back over the seasons the amount of goals in the SPL has been very poor and unlikely to bring in new supporters. All the coaches should be encouraged to play open attacking football and with less pressure on to win games, it could happen.

Entertain the fans and more will come along, watching teams stifle games with negative Rangers type performances and putting thugs into their teams puts me right off football and it is an affront to the beautiful game.

Hopefully, when all the facts come out about what has really been going on in Scotland since at least Murray’s tenure, a whole new system and governance is brought in that can take the game forward here.

  6. Good stuff, JF.

The huns will always be huns, though, I’m afraid. You can’t appeal to their better nature…they don’t have one.

As to Chunky; his latest ,and craziest yet, ravings make me seriously wonder if he has a brain tumour, or something similar. I’m not being flippant : his mental faculties, his reasoning, all seem to have gone completely haywire, indicating some kind of mental storm, some confusion, a conflating of random facts, and wild, paranoiac utterances mixed in with grandiose financial plans, scemes and imaginings. It’s all like some mad Hitlerian outline for some hunnish reich with himself at the head of an advancing European football behemoth.

In short : he’s nuts. Even the less crazy of the orcs are beginning to look at each other as if to say, ” Huh?? ”

And all the financial gurus wheeled out to pontificate on his share issue and delusional plans can barely contain their mirth, such is the ridiculous pomposity of his schemes.

The only only only reason they don’t guffaw out loud is for fear of reprisal from the notoriously tetchy hun, but even that beast is losing its once potent threat as it is seen for the bufoonery it has become as exemplified by its bellower-in-chief, Chunky, and his hapless catspaw, the sleekit, sly and essentially incompetent Sally.

They are doomed, in every quarter. They are finished. Their termination is written in the sand, to be washed away by the tide of reality.

  7. 67Heaven ... I am Neil Lennon..!!.. Ibrox belongs to the creditors on

Wonder if the press will mention the fact that the zombies were liquidated today……….night all

  8. The Scotland job is shouting out for wee gs.

Prob being the sfa will not want to upset an unhappy hun mob anymore.

I’v got a nasty taste in my mouth that smith will be lined up already to give the orange hordes a bit credence.hh

  9. petec

    Absolutely my friend.

Hunnery has ruined Scottish football, and so we can only reverse the trend when this is accepted.

Jock led this country across a 30 yr abyss and taught his geniuis to managers such as Swalex, and others. The cardigan also had a chance to learn but instead chose the route they always did, looking for John Greig types.

As we are still one of the biggest fiootball supporting countries per heid, when are the huns going to own up to being responsible not only for the collapse of Scottish football, but also the collapse in its support.

Which brings me to my main point.

Why should Celtic be made responsible AGAIN when we are successful. We’ve given them enough chances. The appaulling treatment of our manager should we a warning to even the dimmest of minds.

Wherever our Lenny goes i the future, he has my support. Cos only we know, he is head and shoulders above the rest, and only we know that as according to the MSM here, it never happened.

Support Scotland FC??? My @rse !!!!

Saw most of the Scotland game tonight. Missed the last 10 mins.

Fletchers goal was fine and I can’t see any reason for it being chalked off. The Berra foul on Ramsey should have been a penalty. Maloney’s trip? Well if he has admitted to contact then it’s a pen. Were we unlucky? Not really.

Bale may not be world class but he was a class above anyone else playing tonight.

Levein should be relieved of his duties follwing what I expect to be a defeat by Belgium on Tuesday and as far as his replacement goes, WGS would suit me fine.

However, in the unlikely event of his handshake being suitable for the post, I fear those expecting exciting attacking football from his Scotland would be disappointed. WGS is pragmatic, would get a ‘team’ performance out of these guys but it would be frustrating stuff to watch.

Am reading your post there, and am a bit upset to see you dismiss the rants and reactions here against anti-Irish Racism, as anti-Scots racism.

I shudder to think from where you got that idea.

Where should we be directing our anger, as Scots, against the anti-Irish racism which is rife (encouraged?) in Scottish football?

  12. Fortunes Favour Mibbes

They do indeed say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

It is almost surreal as Rangers doped the game here for more than 20 years and there was only one team who would be able to compete against cheating of that scale and it was indeed Celtic. The sheer scale of it is breathtaking and it is incredible that despite everything Celtic have faced over the years they have become as strong as what we are today.

I feel sorry for the other clubs in Scotland as they never stood a chance but hopefully there are better days ahead for all the genuine Scottish clubs out there and of course that rules out Sevco.

BTW, keep up the quality work with the youtube videos, they are all excellent. :))

  13. sipsini

Aye, tis true amigo :(( Feckin disgrace!!

    Petec,

Aye, but they wouldn’t be where they are if not for us…tis why they hate us so much mibbes (or maybe not). They failed to compete ! And i trying to do so , they ruined, abolsutely RUINED Scottish football. Whereas, with a normal mentality, we might have found Scottish football in a very strong position, thanks to two healthy Scottish Glasgow teams (and Edinburgh and Aberdeen, and Dundee) fighting fairly for a football trophy. The damage they have doner is incalculable. Scum is not a word reserved for their support >:(((

PS thank you very much for the YT support :)) Much of the footage comes from other Celtic Supporters fighting for the truth – no credit due on my part !! Some folks love that attention – and deserve it for the work they have put in!!, I’m trying to avoid it :)))) ;)

  14. TootingTim

Aye thanks for that. Am as left wing as you’ll get. That I have a common ground with Petec might be upsetting you.

    Post me a challenge amigo.

    Look forward to it.

  15. TootingTim

    Let’s be having you…….

Or do you not have the balls to back up what you said?

You’ve got an easy target here, cos I’ll be defending Petec as well, who is worthy of defending imo.

So you can attack thinking on both wings….

  16. Fortunes Favour Mibbes

Well I enjoyed watching them especially the last one. Ignore the hunnish innuendo. I’m hoping it was just sarcasm but the smilie wisnae there. :))

  17. petec

They can attack me, experienced it before. Won’t let them do it to your goodself though. Saying that, have done it maself <:O :)))

KevJ is one of favourites now. I gave him a horrendous time one night, and woke up full of shame, and then saw him still posting, and realised I was right….and that he is probably Sneevins :))))

  18. FFM,

Its no big deal as it is only a messageboard really. A messageboard that you can put information out on. A lot of people won’t like the information and that is their prerogative.

I’m not a fan of Alex Jones for reasons I have went into before but at the moment, whilst the internet is still relatively free, we are involved in an information war.

  19. Going back to the Scotland thing, it makes no sense in Levein not picking Commons then picking him and starting him. That is either very weak management or there is a lot of interference. My money would be on the latter.

  20. Fortunes Favour Mibbes

Made an idiot of myself a good few times before on here reacting to comments, or reading comments incorrectly or not interpreting comments correctly. :))

It’s better to try not to get involved but you never know how anyone is going to react at the end of the day.
