Celtic Park Race Night for Oscar

1423

Football can be a primitive sport on occasions but before kick off at Cardiff tonight the Wales and Scotland players will acknowledge the nation’s thoughts for a family in distress. The game provides many of us with opportunities to remember we are members of a complex and caring society. The The Wee Oscar 4 Life team have asked me to invite you to next month’s race night at Celtic Park. This is from them:

Be a hero for Wee Oscar and come along and join us for the WeeOscar4Life Race Night and Auction on 17th November in the Kerrydale Suite at Celtic Park!

Wee Oscar and his family flew to Philadelphia on the 6th October to start Wee Oscar’s potentially lifesaving Immunotherapy treatment, unfortunately due to health complications Wee Oscar was rushed into Intensive Care and it appears that these complications have shattered the prospect of receiving this immunotherapy treatment in Philadelphia. The events from the last few days have strengthened the WeeOscar4Life Campaign’s resolve to ensure maximum support for Wee Oscar and his family throughout Wee Oscar’s treatment. Set-backs such as this mean that it’s now more important than ever to raise additional funds.

The WeeOscar4Life campaign are proud to continue our fundraising for Oscar and his family during his treatment; Lisa Hague, Patron of the campaign, and Partner of Celtic’s Kris Commons says ‘This is the next stage of fundraising which will directly support Oscar and his family throughout the treatment and we implore the Celtic Family to continue supporting this incredibly worthwhile appeal. The Race Night and Auction is going to be a wonderful night and I can’t wait for the fun!”

Tom Boyd, the captain who stopped 10, said, “It will be my pleasure to support the WeeOscar4Life campaign by attending the race night next month. The backing shown by the Celtic Family already has been nothing short of extraordinary, and has inspired many of us to get involved and help this family through such an abysmal time.”

10 WeeOscar4Life Corporate tables, seating 10 people, are available on a first come first served basis offering preferential seating, drinks package, snacks, free entry and company advertising/printed logos. Early booking is advised as advanced reservations mean there is limited availability.

WeeOscar4Life seats are available and can be purchased individually or as groups at £7 per ticket. Again these seats will be sold on a first come first served basis. Snacks will be available on each table. Tables seat 10 people.

On the night there will be 8 races a raffle and an auction.

Race sponsorship is also available at £250 per race.

Jockey and Owner sponsorship is also available at £5 per Jockey or Owner. Each winning Jockey and Owner will receive a prize.

To reserve tickets or request further information please contact the team at here WeeOscar4Life@gmail.com.

Michael mcintyre = unfunny & annoying…..i’m going to stick with him to see if he can at least make me smile.

Aye, more than anything I hope our players come back injury free.

Switzerland were the team who let me down tonight.

It’s reasonably easy to make very little money on intrenational games, as the odds are so bad.

Belgium are free money next week.

WGS will not be offered the job, imo.

Thought that the post you got from macjay1 was ridiculous. The post and the subsequent meek apology did not surprise ME AT ALL.

    Your still very new here

I was at the fateful game in Cardiff in 1985.

I wonder what big Jock would make of it all now.

    ———–//——————-///————-

I think he would have kicked Adams erse

    ———————————————————-

He wouldn’t have let Adam near a Scotland shirt.

  6. The Ecuador striker left the pitch after equalising against Chile, ran into the crowd, even stopped for the camera men to take a few photos.

Did he get booked…..what do you think !!!!!

  8. Didn’t see the football tonight so just catching up with the brief highlights on SSN.

The decision of the linesman to raise his flag for Fletcher’s ‘goal’ was extremely poor, he’s clearly 3 yards behind play and is in no position to determine whether anyone is off side or that the ball went out of play.

It’s difficult to tell from any angles that I’ve seen whether Bale dives for the penalty or is indeed clipped by Maloney as he runs across him.

For me Maloney’s reaction is telling. His body language shows that, intentionally or not, he clipped Bale’s leg causing him to trio over his other leg.

Levein had no luck tonight but it’s doubtful that he should have been in position for tonight’s game in any case.

  9. Celtic_First

Quite agree – this is the poorest Milan side in a long time, and I can’t see Pep coming here.

If they had players of the calibre of Van Basten, Gullit, Rijkaard, Baresi, Maldini, Donadoni and Ancellotti as they did in the late 80s-early 90s when they were the best team in Europe it would be an entirely different matter.

Arsenal sounds a much better proposition.

    HH!!

Jeezo, this next guy is worst…..remember when comedy was funny? Not giving up on it……oh no, he’s back on.

  11. very telling that there was empty seats in cardiff tonight.

thats the huns battalions of the tartan army not turning up.

    armageddon i tell yees

  12. It’s got to be WGS for the Scotland job.

The only problem with that Broonie, Wee Jamesie and KC will be automatic picks and have a higher chance of injury.

I would rather they sat out the rest of this qualifying campaign and done the business in the Champs League.

  13. Celtic_first

It’s for a Berti without the Scottish media queueing up to slaughter him. It’s for a clever guy who understands football in the twenty-first century.

    ——————-

I don’t lose a lot of sleep over Scotland performances, but, I think you are well off the mark referring to Berti

Berti took over a German team who had just won a World Cup, had success at the Euros, but ultimately left them struggling to qualify in 1998.

Since then he has flopped at Scotland , Nigeria and I think he is now at Azerbaijan.

Whether we like it or not , top managers won’t come to the Scotland job.

When a manager leaves Germany , he will be on the radar of every club in the world, and if he was any good, he would have his pick of these jobs. Berti didn’t, and there is a reason , he is a dud. He is a laughing stock in Germany.

Levein needs to go now, as the situation MAY just be recoverable, but, lets not make the same mistake twice.

Was posted earlier on that wee shaun admitted contact in an interview on shortbread.

Agree the decision for the fletcher non goal was a bad un, but they had a stonewall PK turned down…….excuses will be made to keep him in the job.

  15. The Panama v Honduras match is on at 4 tomorrow morning – might stay up and watch it to see how Emilio plays!

    HH!!

  16. Am I imagining things?

Did I hear Joe Ledley being booed by the Scotland fans, the only Welsh player to receive this treatment?

  17. It’s now much more important for Scottish football

that Celtic do well in the CL

than the Scottish team does in the rest of the WC qualifiers.

Let’s hope the country get’s behind us !

  18. pedrocaravanachio67 on

Michael mcintyre comedy roadshow……..truly awful, now switched off…..right where’s that sevco prospectus?

  19. CultsBhoy loves being 1st forever & ever on

Personally, I’d let Levine complete the remainder of the games..

No point bringing anyone in now?

In any case who cares – the team are poor and Scottish football a mile away from where it needs to be. reaching Brazil would have been setting ourselves up for severe pumpings

  20. Celtic_first / All

Out of interest, do you / others think that qualification may just be achievable if we switched managers , now ?

  21. havent read back too much, never seen all the game but i did see the important

decisions,if the decision not to award the 2nd Scotland goal had gone against

Celtic in a big match the blog would be in meltdown,i am no great fan of

Scotland or the manager, but that was a huge decision that probably changed the games outcome

Thank you, as I said I’m playing catch up.

Btw I didn’t think their other claim for a penalty was one.

Again I’m only judging based on highlights but it looked an obvious dive from what I’ve seen so far.

CG wants a minimum of £500 per share.

Anyone who is willing to give him that

Miller got booed …… Didn’t hear any booing at super Joe, but could be wrong …….don’t think there will have been many zombies at that game tonight ……..

  25. The anti Scottish venom on this blog is way and beyond intolerable,It may be Scots that want to be from another country, or it may be people who belong to another country that think it’s okay to slag of the Scots, well It’s not okay.

I’m very proud of being Scots who has Irish ancestors in my blood, but I’m Scottish through and through, and when people come on here and slag the Scots off, remember when you do the slagging,The majority of the Celtic support are Scottish, and I mean the majority of Celtic supporters.

Paul67 needs to do an article on this Racism, for that’s what it is,as I think it may one day divide our support,I don’t want to read the bile any more.

It’s becoming more pronounced as the weeks go by.

Everyone in Scotland is not against the Celtic.

Are u talking about the one were Berra wrestles the guy to the ground?

The Bale / Maloney is debatable, but I would have wanted both.

Linesman’s decision is a game changer
