  1. Really? I don’t remember. I was on the official SPFL site checking other results. It gives all scores, scorers, cards and sending offs. It doesn’t have Lustig card listed. Ach well.

  2. Delighted you caught a good game Lynchie. Enjoy the night.

Hail Hail The Irish Tims well OK Hail Hail All Tims.

  3. Deserved win today.

The Motherwell/Hearts strategy from our opponents made sure that our footballing qualities were less a priority than winning those individual physical battles all over the field.

It seemed that the players have learned that we have no divine right to possession of the ball & that rolling your sleeves up to win is a requirement in every game.

Hard to select one player after such a good team performance, but some deserve to be mentioned in dispatches; Ajer, Hayes, Ntcham, Armstrong, Tierney & of course Brown.

Despite that one booking for Lustig, we will still win the Fairplay league again this season.

Says it all really – winning the league & being the fairest to our opponents.

Something very Celtic about that –

Have to say too that the Celtic TV coverage for us fans across the seas is much improved.

The pitchside HT/to camera chat with Simon Donnelly/guests is good & the immediate post match interviews with players and Brendan are excellent.

Now all Celtic TV have to do is have commentators who are not also attempting to talk to a radio audience at the same time as those who can actually see the pictures on screen for themselves.

    But I’m being picky now.

Hope this time of year is all that you all wish it to be.

    HH

Really enjoying your posts from Anderlecht to Aberdeen games, like Dena29 the joy of the fans who travel from across the water shows what it means to our fans near and far

  5. Celtic versus our oldest rivals has meant something quite different from the old Celtic against the Rainjurs that most of us endured from our nine in row, to theirs, and then their demise.

Aberdeen are our oldest nearest rivals despite a mythological old firm and it’s tit for tat nonsense, all of which was the dead parrot years before original Rainjurs were ‘wound up by Lord Hodge inside six minutes.’

Normal slump was resumed today and BR made adjustments to his starting line up where after a few minutes it was clear we had shaken off last weekend dispelling new hope for tiresome Scotia that lauded a freaky result and questioned Celtic’s credentials despite the unbeaten record, we did twice in a century.

BR pulled a real flanker in Jonny Hayes resting James Forrest, the Dubliner ran his socks off lording it in paradise against his old mates, Brendan knows how to press all his buttons and even drew his first goal for in time Christmas. Kristopher Ajer looked like he’d been there for years and was majestic, like a new caesar comfortable on either foot whilst towering in the air.

Stuart Armstrong ran the left channel with lung busters that the Dons couldn’t match and that strutting gait demanding the ball to his feet, was vintage stuff. Moussa Dembele went off with the crowd singing his name having showed glimpses of the goals he has up his hooped sleeves for Dens Park then the final game before the winter break.

Scott Brown continues as Andreas Pirlo and you’d swear he’s gotten better with age, Olivier Ntcham is benefitting from starting games and finished today as another success story in astute player recruitment from a world class manager,

    as opposed to breakfasts.

This chasm that exists between clubs, including Celtic and a very good Aberdeen side who prefer to ‘move on’ is Celtic’s and Scottish football’s rich compensation for the football crimes of others, in our lifetime .

    @@@@

Big Mick got booked whilst the fans were doing “The Huddle “.

  9. Found myself reading the Daily Record match report……yup I know a bad move.

    I refuse to link it.

    Synopsis:-

Aberdeen best team for most of the game

Shinnie best man on the pitch

Huge slices of luck for Celtic

    I kid you not!

Writer Gordon Parks…..if you lurk m8, enjoy your Saturday evening, hurting much??

  10. If Marvin & Ajer gel & become a solid partnership, Paddy Roberts back & maybe even another marquee signing this break & I’ll start dreaming about the Europa Cup.

P.S. When can we expect Mad Mitch & his compatriots to join us.

  11. Great and well deserved result today. Back to our best, certainly in the second half. Aberdeen’s opening tactic of trying to make it a kicking match ran out of steam by the second half and we could and should have won by 4 or 5.

Great to see Stuart Armstrong back to his best; Johnny Hayes had, imo, his best game in a Celtic jersey. Our captain just gets better and better.

  12. Gerry we are indeed all one family,

We’re on the one Road *******

    Dublin, Belfast, Cork & Donegal

000PS, Sorry Gerry, There I go again.

  13. ERSKINETIM,

Was that “journalist” at the game. Aberdeen might have had a period of 5 – 10 minutes in the second half when they pressed but they were never the better team. I’m sure any Aberdeen supporter who was there would say the same thing.

I think our “malcontents” will join us in February if, and that’s a big if, Zenit get the better of us

Was that a Celtic song you were quoting ?

We are definitely all on the sane side

And they gave us James McGrory and Paul McStay ……

  17. Parkheadcumsalford

Going by his report I was thinking it was me who wasn’t at the right game.

First half had even moments, we started well and they then pressed into the game, but that was through physicality rather than anything else.

Second half and clearly Rodgers had asked for a “bit more” from his midfield 3…..I though Brown, Ntcham and Armstrong were excellent. In another day we’d have scored 5 or 6 in the second half alone.

Anyway, today was the day we blew the opposition away. 2 games next week to compound it!

Too down at the Ross County position to be too happy tonight.

Still, I was hugely encouraged reading back by MurdochAuld&Hay’s better news.

    Puts everything in perspective.

  19. Alasdair MacLean on

    PS,

If any Celtic management are looking in, any chance of lending us Liam Henderson for the second half of the season? Along with a young striker?

Your cousin Owen would really appreciate it.

    Alasdair MacLean 7.33pm

You happy with Owen Coyje ?

He seems to being doing no bad but probably needs a wee run of results as there is not much between 5th @ 12th in the league

  21. I don’t think that fanny Parks was at the game either.

His comments appear to be a regurgitation of what soor faced McInnes said.

    Anyway another well deserved victory.

Delighted that Johnny Hayes played well and scored hopefully give him some confidence.

    Lynchiebhoy.

I’m with Gerry, it’s great to read posts from yourself, Dena, Corkcelt etc especially the joy you all get from traveling over.

If Corkcelt can pick and choose his songs am afraid it’s the Maestro in this household :-)

  24. My bhoy is hoping for some cold weather, I guess. :-)

Juniors should have finished for winter shut down last Sat.

However as his Scottish cup tie was postponed 4times. It was rescheduled for today, meaning he missed Aberdeen game, his friend benefited from his S.T.

Today’s score Newtongrange 0 Cumbernauld 0 which is a very good result for Cumbernauld. However!!! Replay has been scheduled for next Sat at 1.30 meaning he will miss Sevco game. Only the weather can save him.

    Hail Hail

  25. Gerryfaethebrig. :-))

As I keep on saying the maestro should have his own song, he deserves it, Jimmy McStay or James are the original lyrics, he is a great Celt in his own right and deserves to be remembered in folklore too.

Time for Paul to be remembered properly in song not by hijacking someone else’s as is currently the situation.

Anyway I know I’m in a big minority on this subject, anytime I bring it up fans look at me as though I’m mad, come to think of it they do that anyway.

    Hail Hail
