We seem to see different things within games and I thought the sheeps midfield more than matched ours for the first half and for a spell in the second. The difference between the teams was our finishing and by the end they were nackered with trying to close us down quickly. I enjoyed the game though worry about the way we quietly ignore the taunts of opposition fans. Out sung at our own ground until the mutton worriers realised they were onto a gubbing.

  5. Thanks again to everyone who took a copy of the new CQN Update from us today. We gave out thousands of them and never noticed a single one dropped on the ground! Hopefully it will be well received.

If you weren’t at the game and want to read it here is a digital link – please note that it has crop marks etc for the printer.

Thanks to all the CQN kids who helped today – we made sure they were all paid a good rate (£20 for a few hours work) so an example to others on the living wage!

CQN MAGAZINE also came out this morning. Paul will post it probably tomorrow but for this who want a wee look here you go. We have loads of pics from CQTEN in here. If anyone wants any of the pics just let me know.

We’ve also been working on the new website for CQN Books and this went live this morning too. Check it out:

Great game today – those Aberdeen fans are increasingly hunnish. They sing about Saville and I watch one man in his fifties at least make sexually explicit gestures to the the family section of the Celtic support.

I mentioned earlier in the week that the MSM are going to be pushing Lenny for jobs in England. If they are right – which I very much doubt – then expect him to be going to West Ham and Steve Clarke to be our next manager. Such is the MSM mindset at the moment.

Heard it here first. Don’t buy the red tops.

Five of us chipped in for 10 regal at St Tams. Great memories that City top gives me. :)

  9. Evening all. Nice evening down by the waterside.

Great day at Celtic Park. Some brilliant entertainment and a good win. Shame there were a lot of empty places. Aberdeen made a game of it but we were superb at times.

“Looking forward to revenge against the sheepies today and a first look at The Celtic Way.

What are the odds on Scott Brown for first goal?”

Shameless re-post. Did nobody lump on after getting my seal of approval? :-)

Tried to place a half-time bet on Scott getting his hat trick but Ladbroke’s, in the ground, refused to take it:-

Ladbrokes “You can bet him to be first scorer in the 2nd half. That’s 28 to 1″

SFTB ” Can I bet him to score anytime. I don’t think he’ll score our first 2nd half goal.”

Ladbrokes “Naw, you cannae do that. Maybe go online for that.”

Imagine a bookie not wanting to take money off you on a mug bet.

In total agreement. Celtic supporters do not buy the red tops!!!! Why would we support those who are trying to destroy us. If anyone needed FURTHER evidence look at the coverage of the U17s final when the Hunnish hordes attempted to take our stadium home with them, sang their vile repertoire and apparently we were complicit in this. Go figure. Viva la internet bam pots.

    Evening All,

Good to meet a number of CQN’ers before the game and as usual it is always a pleasure to sit with Malorbhoy and EDB during the match — in the second half we even had the company of Bobby Murdoch’s Ankle!

Got a big hug from Mrs Winning Captains — thankfully I got bugger all from Winning Captains himself.

The new edition of the magazine looks really good and we are already working on the content of the next edition which will appear before the start of next season- though one or two of you will be getting a wee nudge from me re articles that we have discussed previously.

PF Ayr — you will recall a discussion we had at CQ10 — or maybe you won’t? lol

The new book store page looks fantastic and we are going to add more titles to it so that it really is a one stop shop for Celtic books.

Now– on this Neil Lennon business.

He may or may not be for the off but I would have to say that Steve Clark is not the only possibility as a replacement.

David Moyes, Malky McKay and quite a few others are available for work.

However, I made another suggestion at the game today.

I am reliably told that it is only a matter of time before Xavier Hernández i Creus becomes manager of Barcelona. This is apparently obvious by the way he interacts with the backroom staff, the players and the executive of Barcelona– so if Lennon is really going to leave why not let Xavi cut his managerial teeth in Scotland– Champions League Experience for him, and a sensational coup for us with the ability to attract players and so on.

Of course it may never happen, bit is it the kind of move that Celtic should be thinking about?

And for those wishing to follow a different mindset here is a repost of the link to a wee story I wrote yesterday. I was told by some today that it was the best story I had written yet!

I have no idea if it is or isn’t and have no idea why people seem to like my daft stories.

What I will say is that I had never heard of the main character until a week ago and so this is a pretty spontaneous piece of writing and as such it was great fun to write.

  24. I refuse to pay any regard to transfer speculation or rum ours of management turmoil until it’s confirmed on CQN by someone who has heard it from a taxi driver.
