hadn’t heard that very sad news. Only 30 years old. RIP.
MooooonTheHoops –
Thank you and not just a weather report but a forecast too! ;-)
Looking through fixtures I’m struggling to commit to race day. If I say aye, work will intervene. I gotta go galavanting to far flung shores on and off over summer and I’m having a holiday as well.
However, I’m definitely available for Ayr gold cup meeting on the Friday or Saturday if ya fancy it. Also gives plenty notice to the other bhoys who may be up for it.
Friday is 19th sept and the sat is the 20 th.
What do you think….gives us time to throw a few quid into a savings pot before we go?
Msm spinning in full force. Pro Ally stories at warp facror 9 as we are told how the players and Saint Alistair of Larkhall will not get any bonus for winning a league. Story also suggests thar CEO Wallace will trouser £315,000 bonus ( he will not incidentally)……so pro King agenda there as well, however the best bit is to come.
the reunification of the Kenny and Kris combo.
a pair of strikers certain to lead the Mankies back to the promised land? No problem say the wise men in the MSM all they have to do is let a few out of contract “stars” go and the cash cow of season ticket money will do the rest.. europe beware!
Yep. All the spin in the world won’t help them now. Only money will, and unfortunately for them, that’s where the spin doctors can’t help them.
The poor threadbears who have already paid for a season ticket? Where do you think their money will be now? Sitting in the ” transfer in” kitty? Aye…”transfer in” to certain individuals bank accounts.
The only question to be answered is ” when will admin day be”? I’m hoping July 12th, but whether they’ll see it through to then is debatable.
Ok, pencil it in. I’ll definitely be there. We will see who else is up for it. Lunch and grandstand good for me. Stick £20 a week away from now and that’ll be enough for the ticket entry and drink:-)

I suppose McCoist will need three former international players to negotiate the minefield of Div 1 ( championship ?) ……I mean …some of the teams are completely full time
Whit? Ye were born July 12th? That’s a tough break mate:-)
Haha….12 th July always reminds me of ma mad da. ( sadly died a young man at 45). He was, let’s just say, rather hotheaded re all things Orange. Ended up in court once for storming a house that was thumping out ” tunes” he didn’t like and smashing their records. When he got to court he nearly got done again for contempt, but that’s another story.
Anyhow, 12 th July or thereabouts, and some ould bag that lived near us was the ” worthy mistress”, whatever the hell that means. None of the fekk ers are worthy IMO, but that’s the name I recall. Worthy mistress. As such, it was apparently custom that on the day of the big parade, a flute band turned up at her place to collect her. Some kind of traditional ceremony. Problem was, they turned up at 8 am playing their tunes. My dad wasn’t having it and was out shouting at them to basically stfu, but not making much impression. My brothers and I were very young and filled with a bit of fear as well as excitement.
We watched dad storming back to the house after his ” negotiation” skills failed, and he proceeded to get the .22 air rifle from the cupboard and was searching the house for the pellets. My mum, who I have to admit was way smarter than my dad, helped him look for them. Luckily for both the bandsmen and my dad, he couldn’t find them, and they marched off into the distance.
I was chatting to mum one day many years later, long after dad’s passing, and recalled the story, and it was then she told me he never had any chance of finding those pellets. She had hidden them and was only pretending to help him.
Smart summing ma auld ma. Ma dad’ maybe he wasn’t the smartest, but he had his principles:-)

“New Douglas Park”? That is too presumptuous of Pep.
I’m hoping Kenny Misser gets the chance to play at Rugby park.

Kenny Miller has scored a breathtaking 29 goals since leaving RFC (sic) in January 2011, an astounding 13 in 3 seasons of Canadian ‘top flight’ soccer.

I attended the A-Laague Grand Final yesterday at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium. Brisbane Roar beat West Sydney Wanderers 2-1 after extra-time.
It was a very exciting game with Roar coming back from 0-1 to equalise with 4 minutes remaining before grabbing an extra-time winner.
Got home late and watched the highlights.
When the winner went in, the commentator said, “And the orange order is restored.”
Nearly choked on my nightcap.

Drab down here at the moment. Sad to hear of Elena Baltacha’s death from cancer. Great ambassador for her sport and Scotland.

Gold Cup meeting suits me ….either Friday or Saturday
Corporate costs a fortune on the big race days …….better booking lunch somewhere and getting grandstand tickets …..
Probably a bit quieter on the Friday …Ladies Day :-))

Together with paying rubbish managers £800k pa and fortunes to CEOs

12th July would suit me on a personal level, as it is the day I came in to the world. They’re going out of it would make up for that.
