SW needs a bit of work but he has promise.
However he did look a bit shaky / unsettled at times when there was no pressure on him.
Had a touch of the JH about — striding forward with little or no idea what the pass was going to be — not good.
We really should have went all out for the win.
Losing a sloppy equaliser — not a good look.
Especially two Saturdays in a row,.

MM is a joke.
Great workout. Plenty of positives still plenty to work on.
Obviously with the raft of substitutions our standard dropped.
That is to be expected but preseason is not about winning games.
Essential to give fringe players a bit of game time.
Personally I’d prefer to see the likes of Lawal & Vata playing with our strong players.
By the time these lads came on all the substitutions had us under a bit of pressure.
So saw little of Vata in particular.
Anyway enjoyed the game.
Pity about the 2 points dropped.

Maybe best if you don’t type the Christian name initial if you want to shorten things and then just type the full surname then it makes it easy to understand.

A match @ P/head is not a training exercise.
A match in front of a big crowd even less so.
We need to learn how to win games against allcomers.
We seemed to be running too much emotion at the end of the season.
Sloppy / lazy / low energy endings to games is not what we need.
The stiffs really let themselves down with that finish.
They might put in the effort for the first team but they did not want to put the effort for each other.
Plus BL is nowhere near ready for the first team.
His foot speed is worse than your average egg chaser.

Celtic Park looked magnificent today, absolutely stunning.

Haven’t seen Udigroue play so can’t comment.
Lawal is only 18 so replacing him at this stage is a tad extreme,
I would suggest another year with the B team or a Loan out.
Agree re Mikey thought he would make it but he is running out of chances, McCarthy was a strange buy but I reckon we are stuck with him. I expect he will be used sparingly from the bench.

Last game of last season vs first game of this coming season.
As things stand we will be starting with a weaker side than we finished with last season.
Not where I thought we would be this season given the positivity and financial success we had last season.
Not sure if the tactics have precedence over the layers on the pitch?
The tactics are being implemented better but we are still very fragile when we lose focus.
We don’t think enough on the park / work things out as the game develops.
Everything seems to come from the training sessions / sidelines — not good.
We need to start play the game in front of us — not remember the plan from the dressing room.

Just a pity about the tarmac prairie that surrounds it.
I think the 80’s will call and ask for their hospitality / fan facilities back.
It as if Wee FMcC had never existed.
In fact the 70’s were better without all the surface parking.
The wee trinket shop / shed is sadly missed.

My friends in Celtic,
Great work out in the sun. Very enjoyable for a friendly in which Parkhead looked fantastic and was the scene of many photographs.
Although we play to win, this was a training exercise in which we utilised virtually two teams.

People on here complaining, most of the second half subs will have the odd appearance here or there when the matches start for real, but instead of all the fringe players on at the same time, which happened second half, the odd fringe player selected in a proper match will be playing with most of the top team players who started first half which makes a helluva difference.

Lots of managers like to have an experienced player past their best in and around the squad for a variety of reasons.
Brendan did it with Toure.
I think Ange resigned Forrest for that reason, and I think McCarthy is similar to Toure in that regard.
I think they will make the odd appearance here and there when we are comfortably ahead in a match or if we have lots of injuries.
I think Ange will bring in a few more.
If the board go all Lawwellesque on Ange then I think Ange would walk as he would see the club as wasting his time.

Thanks as always for updates.
Second half not handled very well.
Lack of desire / ambition in the subs.
Not mixing the squad to any great degree.
BL needs time on the park with CCV.
JF — looks to be slow starter this season.
He made the BR look good in the second half.
IY looked pretty poor.
MJ vs RV — who played with the more maturity / vision?
Lots of work to do.
Not hungry enough — even in the first half when the second goal went in we started to lose focus.
Decent runout against a middling and under-par Rovers squad.
All the nice stuff was played by us in the 1st 45; second half was very fractured.
The gap in quality between our first picks and second 11 is patent and puzzling.
Aren’t they all getting the same instructions at training?
AS MM said, very few look likely to challenge for a starting spot – some are rawer than sushi.
