  1. Senor Pablo Diablo on

I’m extremely concerned about the treatment of the GB and what appears to be politically motivated harassment of Celtic fans. We are seeing more and more of this at away games.

  2. The police or the club need to let everyone know exactly what the problem is with the green brigade.

Otherwise it just looks like official harassment.

  3. All the seats of GB had stickers/tickets on them similar to when Sunderland banned fans for standing.

    F*** the Board!!

  4. TheOriginalSadiesBhoy on

Celtic will be very foolish to underestimate the importance of the Green Brigade to the majority of Celtic fans. The Green Brigade generate a great atmosphere and add hugely to the match day entertainment. From what I can see they are corpses mainly of young people in their teens and early to mid twenties. Their banners, chants and choreography are mainly witty with the odd thing they do causing offence to some but not all (poppy protests).

Celtic need to inform the support where they stand in this ongoing offensive by police and stewards against the Green Brigade. They need to tell us what problems they have with the Green Brigade so that Celtic supporters can make a judgement based on facts as to whether they will renew season books next season.

I am a supporter of Celtic first and Green Brigade second buts I was horrified to read on here last season that someone in a position of authority among the stewarding company was a supporter of RFC and showed support for a loyalist paramilitary organisation yet was placed in a position of authority over spectators at Celtic home games.

Unless the club come out and explain their case and lack of visible protection for the Green Brigade then I will seriously think twice about renewing my season ticket next season.

  5. Just in ; Sofas are to be introduced to CP next season.

Customers are advised to bring their own slippers cocoa and onseys

  6. IF the club HAVE or are thinking of banning the GB, they will be making a grave mistake.

It wont be paradise any more – but a return to the graveyard.

Don’t believe that Celtic would ban the GB.

If it is true, then they have banned me & the likes of me.

Why exactly have they apparently banned GB? Could it possibly be to appease corporate sponsors corporate sponsors and those of their ilk who would desert Celtic at the drop of a hat?.

Absolutely brilliant day at Paradise today …. From start to finish……..

As a support, we need to understand exactly what is going on between Celtic and the GB…I am, arguably, the GB’s biggest supporter, but something is wrong somewhere and we need an official statement / detail from our Board and from the Green Brigade…..

I honestly didn’t think I’d ever see a worse penalty decsion than Collum’s for Broadfoot when his back was turned.

Today’s , though , is worse. An incredible decision.

Sorry but disagree. Gollum penalty was so much worse, at least Madden was facing the right direction

  12. dont know what it is with the authorities in this country with regards football supporters, no alcohol to be sold in stadium to the working man, no standing, no singing, no banners that zombies may find offensive. just come in shut up and walk out at then end

the gb are being treated poorly, but the attack on the bg has its roots in the attack of of the working man from the authority classes that demonise and criminalising young working class men for nothing with everythin they do scrutinised while the ovel ball one can drink, can stand and sing and can show there balls and arse to all without so much as a glance, while singing rebal song about sending people homewords to think again.

    fucking joke

  13. The disappearance of the green brigade would be a disaster for Celtic.

Arrested for not giving details ??…..that cannot be accurate……we need an official statement from Celtic on this development ….. The green brigade cannot be banned for singing songs of Irish Remembrance….

  16. The snobs that run my club will not be happy until they drive the core support from the stadium. Low income run of the mill glasgow folk have been struggling to go see Celtic for years, do they care?, do they hell. The “Celtic family” is trotted out all to often, the suits use it as a way to screw more money from us. My club would be as well renaming to us “new celtic”, because they remind me of new labour.

  17. Margaret McGill on

“Football without fans is nothing” has become “obedient customers”

    Some examples just this week:

The man handling of Celtic players in the box by Juventus at corners .

Ref blowing for full time at 1-1 in the Bernabeu from a Man Utd free kick before the ball was kicked.

Letting the police stamp over the GB or out right banning them by the Bored.

There’s a business plan afoot and you’re not in it.

  18. We all seem to agree that the GB are key to any type of atmosphere at CP these days – especially when the stadium is half full. The players benefit from this the most.

Neil Lennon is perhaps the only one who can actually change what ever is going on beind the scenes to rectify this.

If not, 20,000 crowds and no atmoshpere will become the norm. A shocking possibility when we have such a promising young team.

  19. Ernie lynch. I appreciate many do prefer to be permanantly raging with authority figures Whether it is Brian Quinn or Fergus or Gordon. It is something which differentiates us as you say. It also contributes to our tendency to self combust when at risk of achieving success or even dominance. It obviously sits well with you and many others. I guess only a few have the privilege to be in positions of authority neither you (i presume) or I have the experience of walking in PL BQ FM or even Bob Kelly’s shoes. I find it difficult to know how I would respond. I do know all of them would go to great lengths to avoid any damage to the club or its reputation.

  20. Great play today, as was on Tuesday night – when we play great build up play like that, we are still being exposed at the back a wee bit – but anyone who has followed the progress of Lenny and his team will know that will be tightened up quickly enough.

Again, we’d be creating a lot more waves on a level playing field.

It’s sad the situation with the GB has to come up again (well for those of us who just read about it!), but for how long are we going to sit back and watch them being treated like this?

Obivously one of the problems is that as a, so to-speak, stand-alone collective, it makes it easier for the forces of evil to distinguish them from the rest of us, despite the fact that they do nothing wrong.

Without us knowing what is going on, and with conflicting reports coming in, we can’t as individuals, make the stance we would all normally agree on.

For me, the divide and conquer tactics are very much at play as ever, and they are working particularly well, because, quite simply, most people here at CQN will not form an opinion until they see the truth clearly in front of them, or at least, the opinion of the majority of the GB being consistent.

Whatever happened today was sprung on this section of our support for precisely that reason – to stop them rallying support.

Where it’s coming from, is the next stage of confusion leading to D & C.

For me, the old one, “cui bono” is rarely wrong.

In that case, it wouldn’t be the Celtic Board. But their silence which works in other areas of current affairs in Scottish Football can’t apply here.

They need to ensure unity amongst the support, which is why a statement on this issue, along with active protection of the support, is pretty crucial now imo.

I don’t know what else to say.

If they don’t do so now….where will it lead??

  24. Neil canamalar Lennon hunskelper extrordinaire on

People are deluding themselves if they think the persecussion of the GB is not board led, we have been waiting for answers from the board since last season. Their silence is deafening.

The sanitisation of the support is going full steam ahead and the money from the CL is enabling its acceleration.

  25. Senor Pablo Diablo on

There are very few things that would stop me from going to watch Celtic. The board’s complicity in harassment of our fans would be one of them.

  26. Quite brilliant display. Even Chick Young had to use terms like magnificent to describe our performance, although he couldn’t help himself by suggesting that we only responded to our manager’s promptings when we gave Efe Ambrose a standing ovation. Every supporter was on his/her feet as soon as he started to leave the field and rightly so.

  27. Burnley

    re the GB

the board obviously think that the GB are a danger to the clubs reputation.

because they are going to great lengths to alienate one small section of our support.

  28. Margaret McGill

Sorry margaret if I gave the wrong impression,

I meant some wee Half wit wae a uniform should not be able to make a decision on the spot about what banner is or is not offensive,

Or decide who or what can enter our ground wirhout getting permission from someone from the club.

This SNP, even things up wae the huns legislation(drawn up by a hater of our club) needs to be challenged at every turn.

I am 100% behind the GB.

  29. The board won’t listen to the punters. But they will listen to Lenny if he says it is affecting the team. CL qualifiers without the GB could be the difference between 20 million in the bank or not.

  30. Celtic are bigger than any player or manager, the Celtic support however is the heartbeat of the club; but their supporters now appear to be causing some offence to people in power.

Clarify the situation now, or give free rein to conspiratists and malcontents among our own , and ammunition for the MSM .

Celtic support was magnificent prior to the GB being formed, however they( the GB) have been a force of good in the majority of occasions. The Celtic support will survive this and be strong again, just under different banners.

Me, I would rather they all relocated to the “Celtic end” lower section and formed a huge standing /singing section there.
