James Forrest is praying for The Unconquerable Oscar Knox on
Superb today. Absolutely superb. Glad for Ronny D, because he’s taken some ridiculous criticism over the last few weeks, but this is definitely the guy to take us forward. Today the way he wants us to play came through. We’re still short in a couple of areas – with a 30 goal striker in the team we’d have hit double figures today – but it’s going to happen.
Gutted, absolutely gutted, for my namesake. He’s young enough that he can still have a phenomenal career – look at Gary Mackay Steven for a kid who’s football progress was almost derailed by injuries – but whatever’s wrong has to be sorted quick.
Berget looks very exciting, and he knows the manager well. Hopeful of keeping him when his loan term expires. We’re not going to get near keeping the big central defender, but he looks a class act.
A couple of signings will rebuild trust and faith … and if we allow the manager to grow his team then, yes, we’ll go far, and we’ll go far fast.
Brilliant display, and I was delighted to see Fergus get the credit he deserved.

well done Celtic …..aan awfy braw day for wee Fergus …..the spys from the east must have been scribbling away like bizzy oooo…..
My usual response in defeat is to defend the team…. In victory I tend to be more critical – strange but true….
So, plenty of positives today BUT defensively we still need some work. We have good players at the back – arguably the defenders are the best players at the club. Personnel is not the issue. Simple balls over the top or through the channels are. We have a bit of pace to deal with it but the midfield need to make the pass harder and assist in closing the channels.
Berget – took his goals well, but is he a wide man? I am not sure. Some thought he was motm – I thought he looked too keen to offload the ball at times and not confident of beating a man. Think he’ll come good but he has a way to go.
Stokes I have praised before but he is beginning to frustrate me.
I would like another CF to offer something more direct. Bergethe might be the man for that in the away game on weds?
New CB is the business. He’s young and, will make mistakes but that’s a really good player. Was thinking if we’ve downsized the defence since Varga, mcmanus, Caldwell.
Really enough watchjng the Bhoys play football the Glasgow Celtic Way.

Absolutely gutted after that injury to Forrest. He was going to be a massive player for us on Wednesday!!

I hope the management are looking at Forrest, Matthews and Brown injuries, and deciding time to cut our loses. On form they are great but we can’t afford to carry this many injury prone players.

Not seen a team get such an ovation at half time in a long time.
Well done Celtic.

I wouldn’t criticise a single player today. Yes of course there were a few individual errors and Izzy whilst brilliant going forward is not the best defender in the world. Maribor on Wed. will be an entirely different proposition and our defending will have to be spot on. However for the moment I just want to bask in the joy of what was a brilliant brilliant performance.

I don’t think it was coincidental our tempo and forward movement dropped when Kayal came on.
Would prefer we ditched him and gave Henderson his slot,

I reckon the club should bite the bullet and take McCann on.
Others are journalists,or presenters on TV.
He is employed by a team who play in the same organisation as us.
Cut him off at the knees,he is staring to believe his own publicity.
RWE : in my humble opinion DU came out trying to play open attacking football and had a couple of chances early on in the game. Even after we went 1-0 up they kept to their game plan.
But ultimately we were just too good for them. Very unfair on DU to blame them for any lack of performance, they just got beaten by a better team.

Dg35hy: “Typical of Dundee Utd same result as always they laid down 2 Celtic again, what’s new? Only 1 team they want 2 beat and you all know who that team is.”
I watched them last night. On today’s form we would have wiped them away and given a generation of their fans a memory that was seared into the souls. It was like watching a public park game, long punts up the park and pushing all the big men up.
Today every Celtic player looked hungry. Movement off the ball was fantastic. Look at that sixth goal again. How many players were running up the park for it? Superb to see.
To get that mob in a cup competition this year … oh it would be so, so sweet.
