  1. the draw if a fix, they hardly had time to warm the balls before they drew this cracker all the way to the final

    5th

rangers / rangers versus rangers or rangers

I wonder if there are any odds on not losing a penalty in all rounds

  2. There we have it

The draw for the Scottish Cup quarter-final:

Rangers/Cove Rangers or Celtic v St Johnstone or Clyde

Kilmarnock or Montrose v St Mirren or Inverness Caledonian Thistle

Aberdeen or Livingston v Forfar Athletic or Dundee United

Stranraer or Queen of the South/Hibernian v Motherwell or Greenock Morton

I salute your opTIMism. I don’t share it at the moment….but perhaps the new manager appointment will be speeded up prior to the tie and provide the ‘bounce’ we need to beat ‘them’.

A cup win will be a confidence boost for next season – with the new manager already a winner after only a handful of games.

Let’s hope we seize these opportunities.

  4. BACK TO BASICS – GLASS HALF FULL

Sure one of the first things Lenny said was that he was going speed things up..quicker balls into the box etc

  5. Olf Firm bullshit bingo stared already with that draw, cmon the Cove Rangers (1922) manged by Paul Hartley.

  6. HAPPY EASTER CQN

    Does WGS know something?

He said as far as Eddie Howe goes we shouldn’t put all our eggs in one basket.

  7. If that challenge on the griff happened at the other end to a Falkirk player the bro Beaton would have dislocated his shoulder pointing to the spot.

    Happy easter everyone..

when Eddie Howe was being shown round Lennoxtown i hope he didnt ask the names of some of the young talent to come off the conveyor belt there

He said as far as Eddie Howe goes we shouldn’t put all our eggs in one basket.

ive never really understood that phrase

why would you put your eggs in different baskets?

ive never seen anyone do that in a supermarket

think of the hassle of trying to carry 6 baskets to put 1 egg in each

and if you happen to need a dozen eggs

    jeez, a logistical nightmare

  10. McPhail Bhoy on

It’s a pity for Cove Rangers drawing a big club in the next round and not getting the full house of Celtic supporters I suppose the game will be on tv, that money will come in handy for a Highland League club

  11. timmy7_noted on

In an attempt to make the epl relevant sky just showed a graphic with harry kane second in a list of top European strikers. The stat however includes assists, without assists he would not make top ten.

Kind of stat the tory troll likes.

  12. I hope this draw backfires on the SFA and the Huns. They are obviously trying to get us at a low point, but from the sound of things we were peppering Falkirk all game but only had our shooting boots on for 20min. Sharpen up around the box and we could put them to the sword, that’s if they get by Mr. Hartley and his squad

Hail Hail and Happy Easter to everyone, especially to me wee brother who is currently working in Indonesia

    I hope he did.

“This statistic was released a year and a half ago by former FA Head of Talent Identification, Richard Allen. He stated “only 0.5% of those signed by a professional club aged Under 9 will go all the way through to play in the club’s first-team.”

I beleive Celtic academy produces more footballers to the first team than the majority of others in our band. Offcourse many academy players play professional football elsewhere.

But thos who make it for us, well more than pays for all the academy set up.

I get a bit pissed off with the continual dissing of it,

It aint the 60s or 70,s or even the 80s.

We are competing for the talent with the hoovers out ther City and Chelsea come to mind,

In the extended wifes family, one of the kids plays at Rangers u10s. Already pre pandemic was disucssed for Southampton and Chelsea.

    Anyways our 1 in 200’s

I’m glad it’s away, an empty CP spooks our players

BADA would you be surprised if the rules changed and fans were allowed in .😊

  17. timmy7_noted on

A clean sheet in the cup tie then we win, however a clean sheet now there’s a novelty.

In both recent games we’ve been the better team but they have a gk and we don’t. I’m not bothered about winning the cup tbh but would love to knock them out. They then have the summer to stew on it.

Enjoyed the win yesterday, I haven’t noticed when the next round is due to be played yet.

The strangest of seasons continues, I’ll be glad to return to my seat. On the monitor, I had occasion to wonder if hallucinogens had been added to my pills recently; Forbes On the Square advertisement flash on the halfway line by the North Stand.

Turns out to be a tailor’s in Royal Exchange Square. Down to me, they’d be told to sling their hook.

i think your just being mischevious now.

If Howe is the great new hope, then I would really expect he would know each and every one of them on that list.

All of them were international players, surely he would have known of them ?

I bet he even knows all the coaching badges that John, Stephen and Darren have got , and probably knows that Shaun is assistent manager of European minnows Belgium.

Well done all the staff at Lennoxtown, for producing such great players, I salute you.

  23. TIMMY 7,

What do you mean,”Not bothered about winning the cup”.What else have we got to play for?. Been a horrendous season. At least the cup will bring a bit of cheer, and another record.

    Get a grip ,my man.

SS- so 1 player every 2.5 seasons? No point in paying to develop players for other clubs, I disagree my friend, it must be at least a couple of million a season to run Lennoxtown. I think the post to run it should be a priority, is the coaching any good? Is it in sync with how our first team plays? Who coaches the coaches? HH

  25. PHILBHOY on 4TH APRIL 2021 11:28 AM

ST STIVS I’m not sure who identifies and signs our players. Whoever it is has had a poor run at it in the last few years. I hope the new manager has a bigger say in who we sign.

“We’ve got millions of wingers” comes to mind.

*so said the mendacious fraud. For a support that has a serious contempt for players that walk out on us somehow a portion of them give this murinae absolution.

Oh he gave us the invincibles we’re told, aye and bailed oot at the first time of any serious competition.

If Howe is the great new hope, then I would really expect he would know each and every one of them on that list.

he will know them for sure and will probably like some of their attributes

but if he was celtic manager and those players were at their peaks and available to sign, do you think he would even contemplate any of them other than aiden and kieran?

  27. Could I ask JBH a very simple question?

What is the official name of the new club? Is it Sevco or The Rangers? I wouldn’t refer to them as the club from Ibrox because that might imply that they are the same club as the club that used to play at Ibrox – if you get my drift.

That was not the full list of graduates. Yes we develop 1 every 2 seasons that progresses to play for the first team, and literally hundreds dont make it, but do go on to play elsewhere.

For the ones that got away, Given, Marshall, McCarthy , Bannon. Robertson they had/have great careers.

Our top products got great transfer fees, over £40m. That funds an academy for 20 years.

I say we keep mining, there will be more to come.

If we thought the revolving door of prospects from elsewhere is dire now, how much poorer would it be if we didnt have our own crop to choose from.

The underselling our coaching staff also does my head in, these guys are all qualified to do their jobs, they do it well. They are as good as anybody about it.

Why hasnt Dembele made it into the first team ? Hint, it is not the coaching staff performance.

Lets see if he does go elsewhere, will he disappear like Feruz ?

Apart from anything else, I personally like that we produce footballers for others, does not bother me one bit, we aint no Brentford.

  29. We lost a few young players this year to Germany,England,Italy and the States.

I would say keeping the good ones would be a priority.I don’t know how you do it when the big clubs come calling.Days of Jim macLean (sp) 20 year contracts.

calling them ‘the club that currently plays out of ibrox’ is how i describe them
