  1. macjay1 for Neil Lennon on

CAPTAIN BEEFHEART on 3RD APRIL 2016 11:59 AM

Macjay, anybody working with the vulnerable in society is liable to false accusations nowadays. Happened to a Spanish friend of mine. Lovely guy. He didn’t understand that in Britain we are paranoid about child abuse. Of course he did nothing wrong and the child admitted to telling lies but life was hell for his girlfriend and him for a month. Thankfully he remains at work now.

    ======================================================================

    Absolutely right.

I feel however, that teachers are particularly vulnerable.

  2. Tallybhoy.

    ‘re calling the baby William.

A brilliant name if you ask me. What was the name of the captain, and one of the greatest Celts ever, who lifted the big cup?

    Gerryfaethebrig, Art of war.

Sad to see you two having a disagreement last night. 2 good ghuys, in my opinion.

My thoughts, for what it’s worth. Are teachers undervalued for the additional role they play in society? Undoubtedly Yes. Is Art of War’s salary a pittance for the role he performs? Undoubtedly Yes.

  3. Thoroughly enjoyed the game yesterday, the diets were up for a battle and we responded well. We’re still not firing on all cylinders but we had the quality yesterday when it was needed. Leigh Griffiths never stopped yesterday and on another day he could have had a hat-trick, credit to Alexander in the Hertz goal.

I signed up to Res12 not to have an AGM barney but to get at the truth.

I’m not sure what other motivations were but that is mine.

The barney would never have happened because Celtic would have explained they had written to SFA and received an answer that justified RFC being granted a licence.

The Resolution did not ask about the granting because we knew the process over the cycle is where the weaknesses lay, but I couldn’t see the AGM being riveted on the meaning of Article 66 and Annex VIII 2 a to d. no matter how ariculate the presenter of the case might be.

The only thing that would have caused a barney would have been release of what caused the adjournment and that couldn’t be done because of the provenance issue that has bedevilled progress since.

If you are annoyed that Res12 wasn’t used as a rod to beat the Board with I’m annoyed that getting at the truth has cost, and I mean real cost, so much time and effort and money.

The funders support because they want the truth so any claim you make to know their names has no locus as they signed up to or supported Res12 from a motivation that may have common ground with yourself but also saw the bigger accountability issue.

  5. I take it that was Madden’s dress rehearsal for a certain cup tie that’s looming. As usual he got a lot wrong but he really irked me when he counted out 9 yards for the Hertz defensive wall and then let them step forward another 2 yards before using his spray. Leigh still got it over them mind…

Haven’t seen any of the game from yesterday. Just gonna park myself on the couch and watch a recording with a glass of water and a few alka seltzers.

Reading the experts pregame questioning the manager fair cheered me up. You’d think they’d have learned by now.

  8. Pelters expected but here goes. The only constant in all that is Celtic, is us, the fans who have unrelenting love for our club. The directors, players and everything else is temporary, it’s only us at the end of the day.

For my part I realise all is not well but constantly boycotting or threatening to boycott – – what’s that going to achieve. The team need the fans!! Look at yesterday, great crowd great atmosphere and pretty good result to boot, is that a coincidence? Don’t think so.

So come on, forget the politics and get behind the team – – you know it makes sense

What is that wee thing some players wear on their upper back, under their shirt ?

  10. Aberdeen’ s goal was a Celtic cracker, brilliant ball-winning, run and cross by Hayes and matching run and header by Church.

Kinglubo totally agree the fans p,aged their part yesterday and the players responded

Dixiedeans you were asking about horses earlier

    A few Snippets for you

Patrick Mullins goes to Doncaster for one ride in the 5.45 on Kalahari (5/1) He has a good record in these types of races.

Curragh 3.15,Ryan Moore rides Master Speaker, been well backed, won the race last year off a slighlty higher handicap mark

Alfies Choice 5.05 Carlisle is said to be a good horse, but short enough price

Purple and Gold 3.45 Ascot,I was given word for this last through someone who has a pal working in the yard,of course it flopped but I hear its been working well at home and at 8/1 might be worth a shilling each way

Finally always interesting when Tony Martin has a horse towards the bottom of the handicap

Today he has Cassells Rock in the 5.00 ( at 6/1,small each way maybe)

    Bon Chance Mes Ami

  15. 67Heaven .. CHALLENGING THE LIE ..I am wee Oscar...... Ipox belongs to the creditors on

Ah, googled it, and found the answer ……

This thing you call ‘black half vest type’ is a GPS device that gives multifarious statistics like speed, acceleration, deceleration, heart rate, dynamic stress load among others !

This thing was developed initially to help manage players’ performances in training for rugby teams but it being a very versatile device is now being used by many top footballing clubs to bring out optimum performances from players, schedule their workload and set goals !

Taking the form of a small, ergonomic pod the weight of just two AA batteries, the Viper fits on a player’s back in a pouch supplied by the tight-fitting vest.

Each pod contains a mind-boggling list of components including four processors, a state of the art GPS module, a 3-D accelerometer (which determines direction as well as speed), a 3-D gyroscope (that locates balance and orientation), a 3-D digital compass, a long range radio and a heart rate receiver.

If recent reports are to be believed almost all clubs in the top flight of BPL in UK, La Liga in Spain and some other big clubs in top leagues use this device during pre season and training ! And it is known to have brought about a change in how medical science is closely related to sports these days !

    King lubo,

    Correct.

Until someone proves shouting abuse from the stands makes the players perform better, they always have my full support.

Look at European results under Mon and wgs.

Home wins then away defeats almost every time playing the same teams.

The main difference…packed stadium with vocal fans giving full support regardless.

The half vest is the football equivalent of the Electronic Tag.

Mind you, even if they had put wan of them on Jinky, they would still have been screaming “where the f*** did he he go to”

  20. 3-0 dons going on 6 or 7, never seen a more unfit group of overweight players in the hamilton pub team.

  21. Surely no one expected hamilton to take anything from the sheep . We will need to see to our own business . Really good to see a bit of fight in the team yesterday , something that’s been sadly lacking in the team for a while , and make no mistake in a fortnight s time it is something that will be required . I hope Ronny has these boys ( as if it’s needed) pumped up to get right into that mob . They are earmarked for a cup final place , and a return to European football , which is required for their survival , every helping hand possible will be afforded to them ( as we are all aware ) . To keep the outside influence from helping them we will need to up our game , and get into them from the off .

  22. The Resolute Mr Pastry on

Would love to see Hamilton and Kilmarnock going down this season.

They bring absolutely nothing to the table – they are second-tier clubs and should stay so.

Worst case scenario we will need 14 points from 6 games.

    Four wins, two draws.

    Should be comfortably do-able.

Plenty of comments on the performance from Madden the MIB yesterday, none were complimentary. Playing devil’s advocate here, but a referee can obviously influence a match but only to a certain degree. If any team creates chances that ultimately result in goals then the influence from the man in the middle is minimal. Think yesterday. Think Newco being handed their arse on a plate over2 games in the playoffs.

I would suggest that most who post on here , like myself don’t react in a sane manner to a Celtic defeat. Some have resulted in moi losing the plot , suffering insomnia , or consuming copious amounts of alcohol. Think helicopter Sunday for an example.

Our judgement is compromised regarding refs.

There are a couple of bottom lines here.

    Nae ref , nae geme.

I remember being involved in a last16 tie in the Scottish Amateur Cup against a highly rated team from Glasgow who arrived shirt & tied for the occasion along with a supporters bus down to Ayrshire. The referee traveling from Lanarkshire was involved in a road traffic accident on route. Game abandoned.Ref ok btw. Madden is not a good ref. If anyone recalls the previous fixture at CP against Hertz they will remember Clancy allowing Paterson(already on a yellow) man handling and clambering all over James Forrest who was goal side , in the box and heading for goal before being dragged down. Play on was the decision. UN feckin believable. Paterson laughed & continued playing on the edge. The selection process is the cause for complaint in Scotland. I’ve watched rank rotten performances from the man in the middle down South many a time when I lived there. The difference down south is accountability. They also declare what team they’ve an allegiance to. Don’t laugh.True.

Is anyone aware of any referee in Scotland who officiates that works on a building site or happens to get their hands dirty at work ? If you’re a plumber that is the best referee in the country you won’t get to the top level. If you’re surname is Dallas you will. Sort the selection process , you start addressing the problem.

Are Celtic concerned ? They have an influence.Any appetite ? Sorry for the long post, but it ain’t always about Huns wae a whistle, sometimes aye but not all the time.HH

If BigShuggy is on you can ask him, it was me who scored the goals in all the cup finals we won, for the record I was usually subbed for my attitude (but only once I had won us the game)

I would have broke one of those monitors rubbish at fitba but ran about a lot

Just noticed a dead magpie at my back door, I’ll need to get a bigger bell for Caesar (the cat) from one of the remaining hunchbacks in the work.
