If so, it looks a cagey line-up. It’s decent – can’t say I’m thrilled by it, although Rogne’s absence suggests Neil hasn’t seen enough form him pre-season to trust him in this match.
Matthews/Forrest is very good. They have a long-established understanding, and combine well, the Welshman playing a lot of decent balls down the line for James to run on to.
Wanyama/Mulgrew have played together at CB only once before, in a 4-3-3, where they had more protection from the midfield, so in that sense they are an unknown quantity in defence.
A handful of games together indicates Izaguirre/Samaras is another really good pairing.
Brown/Ledley – good overall. Not my favourite CM combination, but they have won every game they’ve played in, so that shuts me up.
Hooper has never played in front of Commons before. He is not lone striker material, while Commons, although he has done very well partnering Stokes in this formation, something Lennon may consider if Hooper fails to fire.
I done a St Patricks night gig with another 2 English blokes I brought along, one on the banjo and the other fiddle, I was on Guitar…….
It was in a pub where they showed the games, not in the train station venue, there was a crowd down from the Northampton Shamrock CSC, Mickey Bells club at the time.
Shame nothing of note happened over the summer to fill the void.

Afternoon all,

Gutted to be stuck at work, 5 weeks done tomorrow. I start the journey home at 0800 tomorrow morning and get back to Istanbul at 0400 (u.k time)on Friday morning . Nevermind, i have some smuggled brandy to drink here in Algeria whilst watching the CQN updates…..
Bloody nervous, still think we will be good enough to go through tho.
Oh for the days when we were confident of beating the MIlan’s, and Manure’s of the world :>)))

The fact we have 2 dominating centre mids in Kayal and Wanyama and neither is playing there is worrying.
Big boost that Commons starts though

Bit disappointed that Victor is not in the centre of the park,i feel we lose something when he isn’t in the centre!
Kayal is nowhere near match fit, but I take your point re Vic.
Obviously Lenny thinks he is better than what else we have to offer, not good enough imo, and not Lenny’s fault, he has been screaming for a CH since he got the job.

Re earlier gold won in rowing. Commentator said two GB women won the COXLESS pairs, talk about stating the bleeding obvious!!!

Good looking line up. Charlie and Victor form a formidable central defence, especially on the deck. Need a powerful CH though that can win everything in the air.
Really hope young James has a great season. He needs to find consistency and stamina to add to his considerable talent. Hopefully Paddy is on the bench.
