Sorry but unless we get a few goals we will fold against this mob as usual. They are nothing special but we look well off the pace compared with them at times.
Lots of the ball, no cutting edge.
This really is make or break for Lenny. He needs this and as usual we get a team fitter than us.
I do not fancy us on a plastic pitch in Finland.
We are better than them but they are fitter and know how to play anti football.

We need to boss the midfield, VW needs to move into the middle for that to happen, so Rogne on for James F, he’s not done much in the 1st half apart from the run and shot in the 46th min.
Win the midfield and win the game.

HT Celtic 0-0 Helsinki
The Bhoys started well but failed to score while on top. Helsinki weathered the storm and gradually came into the game without really threatening our goal.I would like to see us dominate a bit more in the central midfield area. James Forrest started well on the right, faded then switched to the left where he failed to make an impact. Commons needs to play a more central role as he it finding himself in areas where he can’t cause them problems. Too often we are being held up in midfield because there are no options to play it forward.
We desperately need to score inside the first 10 mins of second half or this game is going to be heading towards a frustrating end.
Very poor after a bright start.
If we cannot beat this lot then we have no right to be in the UCL.
Expecting our coaches to reshuffle the team YET AGAIN.
Vast improvement neede in the second half
Pretty good first half performance. Keep up the same application and we should manage to beat them. Hooper well patrolled. Passing needs to improve.
I think we are missing an offensive Mulgrew.
Need more offensively from either Vic or Skoosh.

Forrest looks more of a threat than commons. He looks well off the pace. Ledley looks sharp and is getting forward well. Hooper has been poor also. I’m a big fan of his but he struggles up there on his own.

Whilst it is the 1st game of the season, what have we ALL been saying?
We need a solid centre back- hey presto, we look nervous at the back when they attack.
We lack firepower- hey presto, we are powder puff up front (again).
Big 45 coming up. Forrest is not even up to McGeady’s inconsistent standards. £10m from Spurs said some? Yes please. The Enigma is consistently inconsistent. looked up for it then faded. Once his head goes down, that’s it, kaput.
Izzy is a yard short yet. Match practice is, of course, superior to training, but we have had some big friendlies and have had an extra 18 training sessions according to the commentator. I think some of these guys need to feel the dressing room thunder. C’Mon Bhoys!!!!!!!!

Inside Paradise
As forecast by a few Celtic are well matched by this Finnish side who sat back for ten minutes, prevented an early goal then began to keep the ball themselves.
Celtic look a bit predictable and lacking edge, and incisiveness.
Badly, need a goal to take command of the tie, and reckon they’ll put two into the Celtic end.

I can’t believe that because players have 3 or 4 weeks off they lose so much pace and conditioning.
Compare them to the athletes we are seeing currently down in London, these guys and girls train practically every day of the year. I doubt that they take a few weeks off.
Not progressing through these matches because the players are lacking a bit of pace unacceptable when it could possibly cost the club approx £10million. There must be a better way of managing players conditioning levels over the ‘summer’.

Omg……Packie Bonner ragin’ about our tactics on Shortbread. He’s sayin’ that 4-4-2 will just not work for us in European football; too many straight lines and not enough fluidity.
Hopefully the second half will bring us more,cos we sure have to go with more than 0-0 to Helsinki.

I look on the bad side anyway but I love the Celts .
Right now I can see little to inspire. They are an average side but we are not ready for them.
I want to gub them but they are obviously well organized and anti footballers

Came on here for a look at Half time and for some reason I didn’t expect the negativity.
I should know better.
Bhoys looked good for 20mins then tired and the Finnish match fitness allowed them to look on par with us.
I expect more 2nd half and then the Bhoys to tire, but I feel we’ve played well.
1st game of the season. Away and play FIFA if this is too much for ye.

It’s up to Neil now to look at how we played and what is missing, tweek the team and get the victory, all to play for Celts, I think we need something different in midfield, Forrest, Commons and Samaras not doing enough with the ball..

100% agree, I have been banging on about this for months.
We have known the game has been coming for months, why are they not up to it, get them ready sooner, it’s no rocket science.
Still think we will go through tho.
