    AN DUN

We did the same against Hibs and lost the midfield that was my concern.

    —-

It’s a concern alright but it’s a long standing one. We lost the middle in the second half at Pittodrie and Rugby Park playing 4-3-3.

We can’t cope with a high press because our back line are technically inept and opposition know those chances from set plays will come their way.

Biggest concern for me was McGregor standing in acres of Space kicking the ball straight up in the air in sheer panic. Thats our captain,, utter panic.

    No bottle

    —-

I was thinking earlier about how our team is not used to being the ones doing the chasing and how will we react to that – yes I was expecting us to drop points in the not too distant future.

I’m sure you don’t get bonuses from money in the bank, you make the bonus from the revenue/profit made each year, which you only get from being successful. So again, how do the board benefit from it??

i think their bonuses are related to how much cash is in the bank, because that is a major measure of their success- from their point of view, not ours obviously

  4. Burnley78,

Been to CP many times probably more than you. It’s your last resort to use the Jimmy Sanderson school of thinking — have you been to the game. You are a Lawwell loyalist — quite appropriate term for all the help he gave them. Can you actually think for yourself or is your head up Lawwell’s backside rubbing shoulders with P67.

Today i gave my ticket’s to my son’s pals and they have just came round to pick him up. They were brutal about the celtic players the clown Lawwell signed.

As predicted several times this season the failure of Lawwell/Lawwell will cost us the league. Also nothing changes until Lawwell’s and the absentee landlord leave the club. Anybody supporting the remaining is no fan off the club.

Anybody supporting the Lawwell’s are flogging a dead horse — both failures will be gone in the summer.

Desmond at the Manhattan charity do with bankers/hedge fund guys — exit on the cards ?? Let’s hope so.

    The Battered Bunnet,

To back up what Clunks said – I’ve downloaded Brave and it works a treat for CQN.

    ————————

    I don’t think that’s how it works.

There might be reasons why the board want the huns to win the league ahead of us, but it can’t be bonuses.

  7. lucky cody on 17th February 2024 6:35 pm

I certainly hope you are correct.

Multi billionaires running a club like Celtic is never a good look i always thought.

The vast majority of these billionaires are thieves, but as long as you keep thieving from the poor, you’re good to go, once you start thieving from the rich, as Bernie Maddoff found out, that’s when the wrath of the devils will come crushing down upon you!

  8. Sorry, but I am done with Brendan. His arrogance and lack of willingness to change, is our downfall.

Let’s be honest, we will not win the league playing ion that way, no chance.

Maybe it IS fixed, looking that way to paranoid wee me.

    Disgraceful

    A very pissed off, KINGLubO

nobody really know what these PLC bosses.say behind the scenes because its all legal nonsense.

but i genuinely cant believe that even this mob of cash rakers want the hun to win the league

  10. bournesouprecipe on

The summer tour of Japan was the first red flag.

In a season full of them, BR has been unable to wave them all away to merit the record breaking £3M annual contract he safely negotiated with Dermot Desmond. Some Celtic supporters (naturally ) saw it all coming down the pike. The manager sacrificing himself for whatever ‘the recruitment team’ rolls out at Lennoxtown. He’ll no doubt write in his memoirs ‘they never gave me the players i needed’ we’ll move on, probably without him in summer., the manager is always expendable no matter how good they are.

Today’s red flag was already raised before the K.O. that largely predictable starting line up, was as far away from a convincing win as Ange Postecoglu’s London pad. But with his bed already made BR team repeated the same crab toothless routine, that even Derek McInnes knows off by heart. Kilmarnock did their own tried and tested trick around the 60 minute mark, with a full on, high press, that they knew would panic Celtic.

So it proved, a back five, shipping SPL goals for fun, screams total rebuild. A midfield and strikers like ghosts on grass, the stay at home for winter break club, is clearly out of focus with the modern game. Maybe we just couldn’t be bothered with warm weather training?

Try all the wide men, try all the strikers we anticipated some need for ‘development’ as windows close, but nobody expected the inquisition that will ensue, if it finishes with nobody ‘good enough’. BR played the board game, and is coming off a beleaguered second best. Supporter’s swapping title wins to a new maverick club should not be in the Celtic Story, that’s not our entitlement, our entitlement is professional competence.

  11. More of these days to come under Liewell bhoys.

    SHAMBLES THE WHOLE CLUB

So much wrong, we have went backwards in playing staff by about 5 maybe 6 years.

Taylor, Scales, Welsh and Ralston omg

    D :)

  12. lets all do the huddle on

and im not absolving BR of any blame either.

we have much better players than the rest of the league but have struggled in so many games

    thats not the boards fault

  13. Sevco need the cash.

This is 2021 all over again. The element of competitivness must remain or people will drift away from the game. Celtic believe that they need a strong Sevco and they will do anything to keep that golden goose alive.

Throwing a league, it’s not as though this is something novel. It’s as old as the game itself, and the thing about it, you only need two or three players to be in on the fix.

The fans saw this clusterfeck coming months ago, just like the covid season.

Wee Paul and his cronies reverted to the usual gas lighting and blame deflection.

‘The model’ stinks. And so does the manager.

New strategy required to compete with a financially revived hun next year.

  15. BURNLEY78 on 17TH FEBRUARY 2024 5:44 PM

Sounds a lot like this a point gained and the huns still have to go to St Johnstone….

The fans have eyes. Right now they are wide open

  16. lets all do the huddle on

Taylor, Scales, Welsh and Ralston omg

so thats an epitome of our signing policy

no disrespect to any of them

but if you had told me last summer that this would be our back 4 come january/february i wouldnt have believed you

is that why we pay 550 quid for a season ticket?

  17. Faithful through and through my arse. The spoilt brats in our support cost us two points today. All they had to do was offer support and encouragement to a young squad missing key players. Fail.

The vociferous bed wetters in our support have thrown in the towell whilst there’s everything to play for. Cowards.

Assimilated Tims are like Huns, fcuk all use to anyone.

  18. Rodgers asked for 4 quality players, first team starters. Knowing fine well he was not getting them. This gives Rodgers a get out of jail free card and throws the onus back on the board who can absorb it as you never see sight nor sound of them which is their get out of jail card. All the while Sevco win the league and the money that goes with it while Celtic FC PLC keep OldFirm.com ticking over.

This is quite a clever way of going about it.

    What planet?

  21. Just home from the game ,you can bitch and moan all you like about the board nothing will change until DD acts.We are totally powerless there is no way to remove thr board. Its going to be a long haul to where we all want be. Apart from awful tactical decisions we don’t have the physicality to compete.KTF stpatricksbhoy

  22. Peter Lawwelll was at a meeting and specifically told the resolution 12 boys including Morrissey23rd get me the bullet and I’ll fire it, he screwed them boys over.

He’s a rat and should be nowhere near our club & don’t think for a minute he wouldn’t screw us over to help a club haemorrhaging money as RTC predicted months ago.

If he can screw his own fans who spend their hard earned cash every year over then he’ll do it to us.

Think thats uncalled for to a player like Calmac.

100% agree. I feel sorry for Callum McGregor. He’s surrounded by utter dross. I wouldn’t want to pass to them either.

  25. Again, what does PL gain from us not winning the league.

He’s already rich, he gets a wage for being chairman no bonuses (linked to profit or money in the bank).

Celtic losing the league is going to bring him under huge pressure, and will likely mean he walks.

    So, what does he gain??

  26. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

Yes, the fans are definitely to blame for this. 100%.

That’ll include those that continued to pay their season book money for no games during tne covid season?

Those guys are the Achilles heel of this club.

Peasants should pay up and not be heard!

    …………….

    Bravo, Sir.

The Chairman, his acolytes and the manager should be hunted from Celtic Football Club.

They have put their egos and self-interest above everything else.

  28. BURNLEY78 on 17TH FEBRUARY 2024 5:42 PM

Take Taylor off and we lose an outball and a lot of space for others.

This was a mistake as from that moment on we completely failed to play through the press. Fans then get edgy and played get edgy and No surprise at the outcome.

    ======

Taylors 1st game back from injury. 60 minutes clearly always the plan. So your problem is with his replacement. Can you think of anyone, any fan, who may at some point, in the last 2 years suggested left back was a problem the recruitment team should be addressing?? Keep joining the dots you’ll catch up eventually…

  29. When I said the other day that one of the main problems facing Scottish football today was Celtic FC having to play Kilmarnock four, five or six times a season I wasn’t think about the results as such…

Might have to rethink that position….

  30. If the club is to progress in any way, or even stop the malaise and rot, Dermot Desmond and the Lawells need to go.

Short term fix, potentially, Rodgers needs to be emptied. He’s been massively let down by the board, who are negligent from a footballing perspective which will now have a huge impact on financial performance, but he’s still not getting enough out the players he has so he has to. The only thing that will save him is if we win every game from now to the rest of the season.

And speaking of the players at his disposal…

Hart. Great pro but regressing. Should have signed a long term replacement.

Bernabei. Never a full back. Incapable of playing that position and doesn’t do enough going forward to be a winger.

Scales. A good solid 3rd choice.

Welsh. Again at best a deputy.

Nawrocki. Not strong enough a defender for the SPL. The stats showed this before he signed.

Lagerbielke. Overpriced and overpaid. Not good enough with short range passing and slow. Again, the stats were there before he signed.

Holm. Mentality not there by the looks of it, but ultimately a development player who probably needs a loan move, or else to be given the end of games in a successful and settled team.

Bernardo. No thanks. Not worth the money. Doesn’t offer anything in an attacking sense.

Yang. Nowhere near ready to be playing with any sort of regularity. A development player (in that he should have been brought in and loaned out to a smaller Scottish team).

Kuhn. Does not look good at all so far, another recruitment mistake by staff who can’t look at the real performance metrics and only see top level with no understanding of circumstances?

Oh. See Yang. Should be at a Hibs or something but would he actually make their squad?

Idah. A non scoring striker. Might have some plus points to his game but there’s no evidence he’s score goals.

    It’s a mess. A negligent mess.

People are in jobs they clearly are not qualified for nor have the skills and aptitudes for.

The playing squad buck stops with the manager.

The club structure and wider performance buck stops with the board.

  31. Not an inspiring post match interview there, all about process, the players and squad are not good enough maybe Rodgers too if this is the way he is doing things behind the scenes so these results are possible, an utterly pish Sevco is now in the driving seat.

  32. MALONE BHOY

A few of those players would be dragged up, quality wise, with a better signing policy

And a few would not have been signed…
