  3. Leipzig to Livingston.

Celtic supporters will notice that the resigning of Olivier Ntcham has just about gotten a mere mention in SMSM, but in Celtic circles this is big, big news and an indicator of how well Celtic manage our player personnel, at least the ones that we want to keep, long term.

SMSM made noises that Ntcham would follow want away Dembele at the end of his contract, if not the summer window ended and as the cynics do, said we’d sell, cash in, bank the dosh etc etc . None of this happened of course and the highly valued player wants to remain at Celtic, along with his French long timer Odsonne Edouard.

Celtic can afford to ‘buy big’ again as they did with Olivier Ntcham and this type of signing will be repeated whe we find the correct targets that will be developed at Lennoxtown to maintain the gap that exists between us and clubs who cannot afford to develop buy never mind develop £ 4.5M signings.

Very different to Ryan Christie who has made McGinn a memory, and had any other SPL side in Scotland made a reasonable offer they could have developed him, whilst Celtic were busy doing with Aberdeen. We’ll never know whether we’d have sold our £500,000 star, and the rank and file of the Celtic support will be glad about that.

An astonishing game at Murrayfield seems to have unleashed Christie’s so far ‘unseen in Hoops’ potential, if you saw it before, then you know a player, and to be honest there would have been few raised eyebrows in Parkhead had Ryan remained Northbound. But what a meteoric rise. since he came in off the wing and we sidelined Griffiths and sold Dembele.

Whilst there are no players in the Celtic squad who haven’t picked up the gauntlet since summer, its been said James Forrest has taken his new contract and his unique style to a different level and its very difficult for the most cynical not to agree, James saw off Paddy Roberts in a sense, and its no longer we Jamesie its Mr Forrest if you please.

Filip Benkovic has been a revelation at centre back majestic at Murrayfield he’s filling his Hoops and the price tag of the very wealthy neighbours, whilst eclipsing the £5M summer signing we never made.

Dedryk surely the daddy of all the Celtic developed with his £9M price tag. has to be convinced to sign on again, ( see Olivier Ntcham ) and if he’s no longer agent influenced or the suitors back down, he could be persuaded to stay for a little longer towards the ten.

    Happy days a Hoop CSC
