THE Scottish Cup was the one that got away from Ange Postecoglou during the debut campaign as Celtic manager.

The Greek-Australian guided the Hoops to a Premier Sports League Cup success with a 2-1 win over Hibs on December 19 2021 to lift his first piece of silverware.

The priority target of the Premiership title was delivered in the 1-1 draw with Dundee United at Tannadice on May 11 last year.

Postecoglou’s attempt to land the Scottish Cup ended in extra-time at the semi-final stage after an unfortunate own goal from Carl Starfelt.

Now the Hoops boss and his players embark again upon their quest to lift the trophy in the Cup Final on the last day of the season which is scheduled for June 3 at Hampden.

First, though, the champions have to clear the Morton hurdle in today’s 12.15pm kick-off in the east end of Glasgow.
