  1. Packie Bonnar ???????

I was lucky enough to cadge a lift from a couple from the pub to the match last night.

I was unlucky enough to hear what our former Holy Goalie Packie Bonnar had to say on the radio.

Almost right from the off “The Host” of this programme started to talk about how many Celtic players MIGHT be SOLD at the end of the season, and turned to Mr Bonnar for his view /

Mr Bonnar ( AKA Nicholas, Walker etc), straight away stated names like Dembele, Teirney. and continued by mentioning 5 Celtic players who ” Will have other clubs making bids for them, ESPECIALLY young Teirney”.

I know many have raised this issue many times but what is it with these ex Celts ?

The answer of course is that they give a fcek about Celtic our the support, they just toe the media party line. hoping and praying that a very good Celtic team is broken up ?

Like that Chump McCann after we gubbed hearts, the first thing they want to do is sell Celtic players.

Packie Bonnar ( in my eyes) is now a feckin disgrace, and shouldn’t be welcomed by the Celtic support, as he’s doing what Nicholas and Walker etc have been doing for years, just having little or nothing positive to say about Celtic.

All this of course is just to make sure that he gets a wee pay packet off the BBC each week !

Why didn’t he say ” It would be great if Celtic kept a hold of all their better players, we also should be hoping that the better players stay in Scottish football etc, etc. Moneywise, Celtic DON’T have to sell any top player rtc” ?

Now why didn’t Mr Bonnar just say something like that ?

    He’s just another Ratbag !

    Mr Bonnar…get to feck

  2. Thanks to ALL on here yesterday for their good wishes for my Medical yesterday. The doctor seemed an okay guy….but ?

He was displaying all the sympathy in the world blah blah, but I won’t be fooled by this.

I just need to wait and see what his report says. this man has the power to ensure that I get a few quid in compensation…..I am NOT holding my breath ?

I didn’t even bother to ask him how long before he submits his report….no point really imo ?

Once again thanks to all the wellwishers, especially BMCUP who texted me, and gave me a Laugh !

    Cheers mate.

They were all well-enough rewarded when at Celtic that they can surely afford to buy their own soup.

I’ve no problem with honest and constructive criticism-we do it all the time on here!-but pandering to an agenda which undermines our club, naw. They can gtf. After they’ve choked on their soup.

  5. Still undefeated and the journey continues.

However, undoubtedly we are more entertaining away from home. I trust BR to recognize and solve this.

We must ensure that it is always preferable to physically watch Celtic than to have many ST holders enjoying watching away games on TV more than attending Paradise.

In no way is this a criticism, it’s a desirable to ensure full houses at Parkhead.

  6. I’ve been reading part of the Killie v Sevco fans views from last night, and picked out these ” highlights”,

” Waghorn and Wilson would miss the league game against Celtic IF they were booked last night….Waghorn LET OFF for ” over the ball challenge””… Surprise, surprise !

Garner gets rightly booked for a very late and dangerous lunge on Killie defender……surprise, surprise !

Garner then flies into arial challenge with no attempt to play the ball, and sends Killie player flying….NO second yellow card…surprise, surprise !

The genius that is “Pedro”, starts with ” Waghorn, Garner up front as his two main strikers.

At half time, he replaces Hyndman with Miller, another striker in an attempt to “win” the match ?…fair enough ?

Soon after he “TAKES OFF Waghorn and Garner…in his attempt NOT to WIN the match, by bringing on DODO and a midfielder Windass…..DOH !

I don’t know who the ref was but reads like one or two huns ( yet again) got away with NOT being RED CARDED……SURPRISE, SURPRISE ?

As for Pedro’s tactical genius..?..Brendan has nothing to worry about for years to come when it comes to the manager of the year awards.

  7. Good morning CQN from a cool, clear and dry East Devon.

Frustrating night at Celtic Park and CQN, thanks GG for the updates, pity it took 20 minutes to refresh, still didn’t resort to Shortbread.

  8. Morning from a chilly darkest Lanarkshire. Bit down after last nights game, all a bit after the Lord Mayors Show to be fair.

I thought BR more or less admitted he got the double substitution wrong in his post match interview last night. Not the personnel, just making the double sub at the one time caused our team to be unbalanced for a 15 minute period and Thistle capitalised.

For me I thought Izzy has been playing well after a stodgy start , same with Kouasse. The two of them were ring rusty but played themselves into the game. Rogic will need a few more games before we can gauge his recovery and poor Eric looked out of sorts all night.

Never mind we move forward and hopefully last night will be a gentle reminder that we still have work to do before the Bhoys can become Invincibles or treble winners.

    Enjoy your day everyone. HH

  9. Good morning friends grom a grey and damp East Kilbride. Oh and Happy New Tax Year ;-)

  10. An Teach Solais on

Couldn’t understand the booing at the end of the match from a section in the north stand last night. The players were not as sharp as usual and that is understandable what with the changes, the confusion as a result of Izzy’s substitution and lack of Dembele or Griff up front. Good to see the return of Rogic.

In John James’ latest he opines that SFA has indicated to Sevco that it will be granted a licence to play in Europe despite no audited accounts and being a “loss making enterprise without a line of credit from a bank”

Surely not. Hopefully Res12 has made UEFA aware of the corruption at SFA and says, “We say, ‘No'”. HH

  11. BIGJIMMY,

I don’t know how long you have been posting on CQN, but you should know that Bonnar has been tagged along with the likes of Nicholas and Walker for sometime now. He is always more than ready to make some detrImental remark about us on RS. He knows what his paymasters want. No respect for him whatever.

  12. An Teach Solais on

Wee update re John James site where he now seems to be less sure that SFA will wave through Sevco’s bid for UEFA licence.

  13. Didn’t hear the booing last night but sad if some resorted to it. We were poor and should still have won easily. Fair play to Thistle. They were well organised and didn’t try and kick us off the park. On their showing after they scored they might have deserved a point. Up until we scored, they played for that point. I don’t think they had a shot on goal until they scored.

Good to see players getting a game, especially Rogic and Izzy.

  17. Good morning CQN.

Just in to vent my annoyance at the highlights on the BBC Sport website. I’ve looked at most of the other matches that were played over the last 2 days and all have upwards of 4 and a half minutes, despite some games not having any goals. So why then does our match only have 1 minute and 40 seconds to cover a 1-1 draw with a missed pen?? The huns have 4 minutes 58 seconds for a nil all draw!

I do notice that our headline states ‘Goals and Report’ as opposed to ‘Highlights, and that it’s open for comment on the ‘Have Your Say’ platform.

However , just like so much of the political ” stuff “, the issue is simply learning from your mistakes.

Then, I would have hoped to see some response to your inaccurate and twisted interpretation of Ronny’s own words, just to show that such learning has taken place.

Thank god Goebbels didn`t have the internet.

Consider how effective his influence and tactics were. He was capable of inventing fantastic bogeymen, preying on previous church-based campaigns, to demonise the Jews as conspirators. He too was prepared to send lies half way round the world confident that the truth would follow limpingly. Sometimes the truth-tellers and the fact checkers would let such nonsense go thinking no-one would swallow such guff, but, at times of austerity, there is always a ready market to blame other people and other “races” for your own impoverished lot.

So, while I am thnkful, he did not have the internet, he was pretty damned successful with the tools he had. And his successors do have the internet and some of them are linking to it on CQN. Our American CQNr forwards dubious tales originating from the usual alt-right sites which manage to do much worse then Fox news and its wild tales of Islamification of British cities (Christians having to accept Sharia Law etc;). Some CQNrs have praised EDL men. Even Petec, in his innocence, has linked us to the mad ranting world of Alex Jones, a man who has to tell his followers that “It’s not about the Jews!” ??? I ask you, what company do you happen to be keeping, if you have to inform them that it’s not the Jews (this time)?

And, while you have provided company and polite conversation to those like The Donald and The Singing Detective (if there are indeed two seperate entities there) without taking care to distance yourself too far from their wild stuff, then you risk at least contamination. I had you down as a fairly harmless Bufton-Tufton type of High Tory but, over recent years you have moved to endorsing the likes of Milo Lookatmeopolis and the wilder fringes of anything goes libertarianism.

So, please do not mistake the heat and argument you get on here for your maverick dissension from some imagined wild socialist clique. It is directed at what you are pro, not what you are anti. Critiquing socialism and left wing thought can be done with decency, humour and good argument. Many have done so without falling into the trap of endorsing all that is the oposite of socialism.

Philvis did not attract anything like the level of response you have. This is not about being a Tory- bad enough as that lot were- it is about going beyond that.

On a completely different subject . Where is Philvis ?

On another different subject ,I backed Dustin Johnson last night for the Masters .

  27. West End of East End on

I enjoyed the game last night. Thought we started with plenty of pace and knocked the ball about well without really troubling their keeper 1st half. I thought going into the 2nd half they would tire with the amount of chasing they had to do to keep us out.

2nd Half started well with the goal and keeping the pace up, but that all changed with the substitutions. Brendan gets plenty of praise for his tactical awareness and use of subs but he got it wrong last night taking Emelio off when he did. Changed the game and left us exposed on the left from where the goal came from, think we can all agree big Erik should be played in the middle of the back line as he didn’t look too clever moving across. I would have taken Lustig off and kept on 2 natural full backs, suppose these games are the ones to try different shapes.

Eboue didn’t start well but grew into the game, Rogic well off the pace when he came on but that will only come back with game time. I wasn’t sure where Stuart Armstrong was supposed to be playing, he seemed a bit lost when he came on.

All in all, unbeaten run continues, squad getting a run out, what’s not to like…

  28. VFR800 is now a Monster 821 on

Not been on much over the last few days, but in some reading back, there are some interesting topics ongoing!

Re the game last night; it definitely had the “end of season” whiff about it. I must admit I didn’t hear the booing last night; too much noise in the North Curve at the end of the game praising Izzy!

Positives: Kouassi got a start; Izzy and Gamboa got a run-out; Bitton looked pretty good; Rogic got some game time; we are still undefeated; big Jozo continues to impress.

NegativesBig(ish) Erik has lost his composure and confidence; Sinclair and Roberts looked off the pace; we missed a penalty; we didn’t create many clear-cut chances; Brendan made a few mistakes; we really miss Dembele and Griffiths.

Overall a decent enough performance against a well balanced and very well disciplined Thistle side who deserved their point, and could have had 2 but for a fantastic saving tackle by Simunovic near the end.

Roll on Saturday against the Ayrshire huns; let’s give them a real battering please!

  29. Morning all.

Disappointed with the performance and result last night, but the unbeaten domestic run continues.

Was a wee bit surprised at the starting eleven as I thought Brendan would put out the same side that clinched six-in-a-row at the weekend. Yes I know that certain players need a rest… Also great to see Tom Rogic back.

Speaking to a Killie fan earlier who told me that Kristofer Ajer strolled through the game against sevco, as indeed he has in most games since joining on loan in January. He was hoping they could get him for the whole of next season.

I predict a great future for the bhoy.

    …at Celtic of course!

  30. Pat Bonnar took the queens shilling a long time ago, he’s a soup taking forelock toucher, and there are many ex Celtic players in the SMSM who need not be named, and all thick as sheet in the neck of a perfume bottle, hey! A jobs a job right?
