    Think GMS needs to get strong, he’s loosing the momentum he had in his first half season, big up wee mhan or your going to loose this chance and become an also ran, I want to be scunnered when if you get sold in a money ball exercise.

    I posted last night that I thought Hibees might produce a wee shock, unfortunately I did not bet on it. I thought both goals tonight were under- celebrated especially Johansen’s I just hope there is nothing festering in the background.

    Timgreen, just that I have worked in the bookmaking industry for nearly 30 years, and get scunnered at times by people telling me how evil the industry is, many times they are pissed out their nut in a pub telling me this, not suggesting you are drunk;-)), gambling does have its problems but controlled I is a perfectly fine pastime, as many posters on here will testify

     

     

    I remain confused. If you were not suggesting I was drunk, why ask if I was drunk?

     

     

    No gambler ever wins in the long run. Obsessive and desperate gambling destroys life. Governments should be helping people to recognise they should only gamble what they can afford to lose Otherwise iy is a personal and social cancer.

    Right time for bed, off to Munich early tomorrow for Oktoberfest- 29 I-A-R. When Celtic reach that I’ll be a happy man and most likely pan breed.

     

    Need to decide where I’m watching the Jam Farts game when I get there.

     

    If we learned one thing tonight it is that Blackett is not a left back.

    Just back from the game- I don’t think I have seen a good opening league cup tie for many a season.

     

     

    Our crowd don’t turn up- the team selection gets shaken up. All in all it is a recipe for the turgid football it often produces and tonight was no exception.

     

     

    We were still miles better than Raith and we were never really threatened.

     

     

    Positives are that we avoided a Morton type result (while Aberdeen did not). I’ll take anyone in Mondays draw but would prefer to avoid an away tie in Dingwall.

     

     

    Best performances tonight came from Janko and Blackett. I never saw much of Man U last year- sure, why would you want to- but I had thought they played him mostly at LB. But he looked much more comfortable at CB and coped well with the physical challenge of Daly when he came on. Forrest and Rogic gave us a boost when the game was in danger of dipping below scrappy and boring.

    Just in from the game, positives – we’re through, Janko, Blackett, Cifcti played well, negatives, crowd now against Johansen, he didn’t even celebrate his goal….need a drink after that…

    Said many a time, Celtic park can be like playing with a man down, think Johansen needs to be kept out till the next away game, at least he will get supported.

    as I said at times I get fed up of people having a go

     

    at the gambling industry while they are quite happy

     

    to support a drinks industry that causes far more problems,

     

    sorry if I wasn’t clear,gambling,like drink is a perfectly

     

    harmless pastime when controlled

    Couldn’t make the game tonight but reading back it appears our two goalscoresrs didn’t celebrate scoring the goals. If that’s the case I hope RD has a word.

     

     

    You score an equaliser or a goal to take the lead for Celtic, you show your pleasure at doing so.

     

     

    Does my nut in seeing anyone in the Hoops not celebrating scoring a goal especially when you think of the efforts many of our support make to attend games.

    Evening

     

     

    Just in from game. Nothing to rave about but after some lousy League Cup ties going back over at least 30 years I will take the win , another clean sheet and two well taken goals. Not as enthusiastic about Janko as many others seem to be – far more impressed with Tierney. Blackett and Efe were mostly excellent.

    I think Johansen was just too knackered to celebrate. He’d just run half the pitch in the closing minutes. He had a poor game where few of his passes came off but he doesn’t hide or stop trying them.

     

    Blackett is obviously a far better CB than LB. After a shaky start he gave a very assured performance there, ably assisted by Efe who has now gone 180 minutes without a lapse in concentration or taking an unnecessary risk.

     

    Both young full backs were very good going forward and decent defensively.

     

    Don’t understand why McGregor gets close to the first team.

    At the risk of being called a glory hunter with a hunnish sense of entitlement etc I really think celtic could have and should have been in the champions league this year and last year.

     

    It’s probably churlish to be anti ronny this week after a couple of decent results but I just don’t think he has what it takes

     

    Amsterdam was good though in fairness

    Pretty poor fair all round tonight but it’s the cup so progress to the next round is paramount and that was achieved rather easily.

     

     

    Blackett looked more comfortable tonight at centre half but still has a way to go.

     

     

    Tierney, Efe and Janko were the best for the Hoops.

    When refs give bad decisions in winning games is the best time to complain, same applies to any complaint.
