Munich bound heading for Oktoberfest – about to undo 3 months of dieting and a 15kg weight loss in 3 days :-)
So the crowd was low last night no great surprise. I’ve just forked out just South of £200 for 2 tickets for Fenerbahce and 3 for Molde, does not include my flights home. Celtic need to start doing their sums and look to charging a basic fee for League cup matches, whilst in Europe, between £5 – £10. Get bums on seats and look to improving the experience. There appears to be absolutely no business acumen at the club and yes I do know we are in a reasonably good financial place but as they say look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves.
BBhoy – Not sure how you’re getting to the game, but if you can get dropped off at the Celtic Way and walk up from there. Very impressive. Then walk round the stadium trying to name as many players as you can.
Pogmathonyahun aka Laird of the Smiles – I don’t think reducing the prices would increase the attendance by much, there’s just no appetite for these games for some people. Price last night was £15, even reducing it to £5 or £10 wouldn’t have put many more bums on seats. I actually thought the atmosphere was good last night considering the size of the crowd… bhoys in the JS corner added to it, not leaving it up to the GB to go it alone…

West End Of Eastend, you may be correct but I think the club won’t know until they maybe give something like that a try. There’s a big difference between £5 and £15 if money is tight.

I fear West End of East End is correct. There were tickets going for free with no takers.
technology is partly to blame, you can watch the game at home or in certain pubs without actually making the effort to attend. There is also the reduced D&D laws to consider for workers driving the next day. For many a few drinks before and after the game is all part of the match day experience.
Times have changed and obviously for many the LC is not a tournament that entices our fans to make the effort. At this stage in the competition anyway.

Thought last night’s game was a run of the mill match. Not great entertainment. Thought we improved a lot when Rogic and Forrest came on. As I said on Sunday, maybe we have our new CB. Efe was class once again. GMS obviously needs a confidence boost. 2 chances he would normally put away in his sleep were spurned. Shame.
I think last night showed why Bitton must be signed on a longer contract asap, if possible. Our midfield last night didn’t begin to compare with Sunday’s. He (and now Rogic) are pivotal to our playing fluid football, imo.
