Today was an excellent excellent experience but 21 May 1979 was much better because we played against a team that was a credible threat to us and there would not be any further chance to win the league.
Murdo’s attempt to hit the ball into the Celtic end was going to smack me on the coupon until the Rangers net saved me.
It was also the day of my last university exam and the night that my vocal chords never recovered from.
Even though we have had more significant victories in Europe that t night remains the most exciting of all.

Garry, I was out driving today . I switched radio station from radio 5 to Clyde.
The first caller on Clyde was called Mark from Knightswood. I so hoped it was the follow follow Mark Dingwall , it wasn’t. In saying that he was equally as funny as Dingwall.
Gerry , junior got to his work at 2.59 for a 3pm start. I just picked him up there. His voice is a bit croaky , understandibly.
When he was walkng down the new road towards Dalmarnock Road after the game , a sev was on the pavement heading in the direction of Celtic Park. A strange move .
He also told me all the sev buses were parked at the bottom of Springfield Road. When he passed there about 2.20, all the buses parked there previously , were away.

Just a beautiful day. Good breakfast & company with some CQN stalwarts in Coias . Onto Paradise, main stand today with a pal , courtesy of Robinbhoy . Superb start , they couldn’t cope with Tom Rogic or Eduardo. Nitcham was immense, and wee Jamsie was excellent. I loved his absolute delight at scoring. Great celebration back in Ayr , with my boy and best pals . The boozer was heaving, and overdosed on joy. I wonder if the likes of Masterton , Murray, Ogilvie, Bryson and their ilk will sleep well tonight ?

Gerry, thanks .
He is living at a time when we have so much success which was not the case when his grandad along with others in our support’s dads and grandads had to endure hard times on the football front, in the late 40’s , part of the 50’s and early 60’s .
My preference is he gets as much joy and happiness of supporting our team as we have had in the good and bad times over the last 30 years.

Delaney’s, my dad was brought up in Temple before his family moved to Great Western Road , very close to the junction of Great Western Road and Lincoln Avenue.
I had the great misfortune to be in the rampant bigot and horrible hun , Dingwall’s , comany circa 1981. My pal’s pal was at school with Dingwall . Dingwall’s first words to me were , you’re a Celtic fan , his code for me being a Catholic. He was a real nasty bit of business.
Gerry , I’m off tomorrow also. The good lady wife’s birthday.
