Auldheid,
The shareholders would like to have the £80M revenue. Of course it does not need to be fully invested in the football team. We still don’t have a full size indoor park at Lennoxtown ….as TB was shocked to discover.
The current team is poor and needs investment. The VIrgil fee should have been invested up front in a striker and left back ( 2 weakest areas of team since Hooper left ). This would probably have ensured CL qualification.
Now we sell VIrgil, no £30M for this season CL and a weaker baseline for next seasons CL as the Team has been weakened further by Lawwell.
If Lawwell had done his job properly and secured 3 in a row CL qualifications by laying down the platform , management team, investment I would be the first to congratulate him and he would have earned every cent of his compensation. However he has done the exact opposite and with next seasons failure being shaped this transfer window the hit is £80M.
The supporters who live in a world that everyone is against Celtic and an objective analysis of the failings of the CEO is like kidnapping one of their kids …….good luck to them. However the Celtic support is too clever and the decline towards the chasing SPFL pack will see fans vote with their feet. Circa 30k Yesterday is only the start….by the winter it will be 20k.
It’s a shame , there should be a feel good factor round the club. However the grotesque mismanagement by Lawwell is destroying the club from the inside.

Bruges is a lovely spot and the Flemish occupants speak many languages ; good teamates as WGS would say.
However they went out to Man Utd and they had no big expectation to qualify. Winning the Belgian league is the holy grail for Bruges fans as a provincial club.
Hence no big noise about losing to Man U first eleven. Man U reserves would have beat Celtic on Tuesday.

A thoughtful post. I am only going to pick up on Celtic’s response to the LNS Decision.
If you and others interested in what actually happened when the SPL were told of the Decision then go to this link
I understand Celtic expected a cop out but played no part in it. They were bound by the legal advice given, which if anyone reads the blog at the link I argue was flawed because the whole LNS sham was predicated on ebts not being unlawful/illegal/irregular. That was only possible because documents that SPL lawyers specified that revealed irregular ebts and why they were (Rangers lied in 2005) , were not provided.
The SPL and their lawyers Harper MacLeod were made well aware as a result of the TSFM letters that material was withheld but neither responded other than Harper MacLeod passing the material to the SFA who have said nothing.
The LNS issue had to be left there for lack of locus to demand answers (its not as if shareholders are doing so, just a blog) because it would take all clubs to demand answers and none have reacted to the info provided to them by TSFM. They all know what happened which is part of the toxicity I mentioned earlier.
However something has come up that appears to provide such locus but ultimately what happens after that depends on how angry supporters are and that depends on fully understanding what took place. In that respect I would ask everyone to inform themselves by reading the document at the link.
For the full story that is the previous blogs that are not easily accessible from the TSFM links check those blogs (lots of reading)
Pulis is a good judge. Pardew has hardly played Ledley since taking over. Difficult to criticise when he is clearly getting results, mind.
IMO,he’ll go to either WBA as you suggest,or Sunderland. Probably the former.

I hope we sign a central defender.
Blackett looks like cover for Izzy who responded well yesterday to the challenge.Thought he was mom.
Wonder if Celtic see Lustig as a central defender?Would the central position be less demanding on his fragile limbs?A full back in or system covers way more ground than a central defender.
I have like what i have seen so far of young O’Connel and think he is a potential future captain.
Have hopes we also sign a striker before close of window.

Turkeybhoy,
Just pointing out a fact ; sometimes you need to face reality of failure , so that you can develop a gameplan to go forward.
Alternatively we can wait until we are down to the hardcore of 25k and all upper sections closed for home SPFL games.
Just turned over to hear BT commentator come out with some drivel about some “record” to do with the old Rankers..
Someone needs to explain to these planks what liquidation means. If they wanted the history then they should have paid the 276 creditors.
