CELTIC are poised for this evening’s Scottish Cup fifth round encounter against St Mirren at Parkhead with the prize of a place in the quarter-final draw on Monday up for grabs.

At this stage of the tournament last year, the Hoops walloped Championship outfit Raith Rovers 4-0 in Glasgow where Liam Scales hit the opening goal. Daizen Maeda joined in and, remarkably two other scorers that evening are no longer at the champions.

Nir Bitton left at the end of his contract in May last year and Giorgos Giakoumakis completed his £4.2million switch to MLS club Atlanta United during the week.

ON TARGET…Nir Bitton was a goalscorer in the 4-0 Scottish Cup fifth round win over Raith Rovers last season.

The match also saw Christopher Jullien’s final competitive appearance for the Hoops when he replaced Cameron Carter-Vickers with 12 minutes remaining.
